Testing of vaporizers

Hey all.

Has anyone put forward the idea of crowd funding (I'm guessing FC members as there seems to be a lot of us) independent testing of vaporizers?

I know there would be a lot of info to nail down as to what are the baddies, quotes from labs, ect.....

It appears that a lot of what we go on is assumption and I personal would contribute and would love to have the peace of mind that the devices we use are actually safe.

The idea of the FC having its own QC regiment would really make people think longer and harder about the end user when developing devices.

This is the loose flow of events I thought of last night (thank you lavender):
-Find a reputable labs and discuss exactly what we want to achieve
-Get quotes
-Poll the forum for Vape to choose first
-Start funding option
-when funds are gathered get testing done
-Rinse, lather, repeat.

All of us are concerned about our health as a whole and I would guess especially medical users as they really don't need anything but the goods.

not sure this takes into consideration the reality that devices are made in batches (1000, 10000, x) so tests need to be repeated for each batch - which might have "improvements" slipstreamed into subsequent batches - different glue here, different plastics there ... so it may be kind of hard to have any validity over a long-ish timeframe.

and even so, who certifies "food grade" plastic (whatever that is supposed to mean) at 420°F. don't run your turkey bags that hot in the oven (warning on the label), and that's supposedly "food grade".

idk, maybe borosilicate glass isn't safe either, but i'm willing to risk my life on it being pretty damn okay.

It would be great to do something like that, but for a forum, impractical. There's no infrastructure in place or able to be put in place, to do what's necessary.
