Wellll, I could do a nano base - but warping plastic is the bane of my existence. I've been playing with ways to increase first-layer adhesion to prevent this (glue sticks work perfect, go figure). The flip side is the increased adhesion makes removal from the print surface a PITA.
So I've been looking into getting a CNC mill so I can cut vape stands from blocks of wood or aluminum.........
That said, I don't know if I'd want to make a Nano stand now that Andy has released his own stand for the Nano - http://build.epicvape.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=62_64&product_id=134
Unless, of course you desire something a bit more *custom* than these stands.

Well... you know I love the custom. That's why I came to you. 
I wouldn't necessarily need anything with that many accessory divots. Nor would it have to be square. Could even be the inverted cone/volcano shape you use for GonG holders or the Hammer base I saw. Just looking to keep the nano from tipping while being loose enough to easily slip in or out (with cord slot), and a spot for an 18mm GonG, maybe a notch for the e-pic and maybe a small hole for a poker/pusher.
Really whatever you come up with could be cool. If not, I may pick up one of Andy's wooden ones. Am sure it will work and they look OK. Just all FC'd up from trying to catch up and nudging your creativity (as if you'd ever need that!).

I use my 3D printer to make molds which I then fill with a mixture of Aquarium grade Silicone and Corn Starch - they are nontoxic and vapor safe when cured. The cast parts are practically indestructible, and from what I've found in my testing, odorless and tasteless.

This material is rated for temperatures up to around 450F (some spec sheets list 500F), so these WPA's could get pretty close to the heat! Though I think I still prefer to have some sort of barrier between them and the heat. (for example the Herbalizer - my WPA fits OVER the Herbie bowl, and does not replace the top half)
If heat is an issue for future vaporizers (I doubt my WPA for the Indica, Firefly, and Herbalizer will ever see anything over 300F), I may look at outsourcing the WPA's to a silicone injection molding company which might have the capability to produce higher temperature Silicone parts.
Indeed I have, and actually it's already designed and tested. The *only* thing holding up releasing it is 3D printing the finished mold. I should have an 18mm Indica SonG available later this weekend.

After many months (and 1 material change) of work, the Herbalizer HT Adapter is FINALLY finished and on my Delta 3 Studios store!
I've had quite a few big customer orders this weekend and my printer has been busy printing like crazy! I hope to have some more molds printed shortly, but customer orders always take priority on my printer.
In other news, I'm currently working on fixing a clogged printer nozzle! Fortunately I have two extruders so I can continue printing, but this is a really nasty clog which I've been unable to fix on two attempts so far.
After many months (and 1 material change) of work, the Herbalizer HT Adapter is FINALLY finished and on my Delta 3 Studios store!

Depends on which parts you're referring to, most all of my plastic printed parts are quite refined - only slight lines where the layers meet - the silicone parts will look the least refined since they are not 3D printed - the molds are 3D printed and the parts are cast from that. The roughness of the silicone is due to lower quality printed molds for the prototypes (opted for speed over quality for those prints). I'll be updating those pictures when I have more time
FDM technology found in most home 3D printers overall isn't as refined as high definition SLS 3D printing due to the method of printing. Of course those printers cost over $100k right now, though the prices are coming down on those now that the patents are starting to expire - there's a few kickstarters for 3D SLS printers which would cost under $10k, making them much more affordable.

for instance, how about a stand that we can pass our iPhone charger thru and have it sit up like a dock? i just bought one for $20 & was thinking: "if i only had a 3d printer..."

Hey all! Haven't had time to catch up on this thread in a few days - been busy with the holidays and casting a bunch of herbalizer SonG's this past week! Lot's to say, but first a few announcements:

This adapter is designed to convert the Firefly mouthpiece to a standard 18mm fitting.
*Note, I do not own a Firefly, this unit was on loan. I am not certain of the performance when operated vertically. Depending on your piece, you may need a glass 45-degree or 90-degree adapter for your bubbler.*

@smokum here's an updated picture of my herbalizer HT SonG - you'll see how the cast parts now have a glossy finish. The edges still come out a bit rough after trimming, but the casting has come a long way since the first injection molded SonGs I made:

i have an idea...but its not going to be popular on FC or even the world.
what about a 3d 18mm to 14mm converter and vice-versa?
Like size converters? I guess I could make straight silicone adapters of any size/shape, though they would be EXTREMELY flexible - which might not be good in all situations (like connecting an ash catcher to a bubbler wouldn't work). Hopefully next year I'll have access to 3D printable porcelain which would allow me to produce some really nice adapters. Course I'm still waiting to see these glass 3D printers HP is working on..........

haha ya i didnt want to get into the details on your thread (thats why i said it would be unpopular) but i don't like using ground glass joints...
so an adapter that fits inside an 18mm female piece that tapers down to 14mm (but not long enough to get in the pathway of the vapor flow) would be ideal. i could probably just wrap a piece of silicone tubing around it until it fits a 14mm, i guess.
but, if there are any paranoid people out there like me, you might have a market for these types of things...
