Just talked to Mike asking if he had any luck making the donut Klein.

He said he has been really busy the past two weeks so he hasn't had a chance to try to make one yet.

I told him there are a bunch of us anxious to see how it turns out so hopefully he gets some time soon to try it :)

I'll update everyone once I get any new info!

Still heartbroken that distilled glass couldn't make my dream piece come true, but he seems to be making some stuff now that is really peaking my interest! Maybe i'll have another go with him

I haven't heard back from mike in over a week since I last asked him about the donut Klein and he said he hadn't had time to try to make it yet.

I sure hope he isn't dropping out like Doughboy did :( I really thought telling him 4-5 of us wanted these kleins would get him right on it but I guess not.

Looks like it is back to Instagram to find a new good unknown glassblower that does decent quality work for a fair price.

At least we aren't hunting on our own. This is something that the collective mind of FC is keeping an eye on every day! The life cycle of a glassblower is much like that of a butterfly. They emerge from their cocoon, flutter their colorful wings around as a butterfly and then we never hear from them again.. A lot like Elton John.

before my first recycler from Mike was finished I ordered a second. My experience with communication with mike has left me feeling like I did something to not deserve a response. We talked over a few pieces since and each has fallen through. I love my recycler but Im going with another source .

Got a picture from Mike today for a single recycler he made me  I love the hollow base on my double recycler and how wide and stable it is so I asked for a single just like it. Looks like a freaking UFO Saucer base. I love it! And it looks like it will vortex pretty well too

Still no word on the Donut Klein, but it looks like we are about to get some sweet ass glass from DHgate so I won't be too upset if the donut never happens.

Anyways here's the new single:

Sent an e-mail to Mike on Nov 17th about a custom mini klein. He responded within 24 hours with a more than fair price. He estimated that he'd be able to get in done around x-mas time, and look at that right on time :). He messaged me when he started to work on it and when he finished. All in all another super smooth and great experience working with Mike.

Now as for the piece itself. I originally was trying for the same size piece as the other mini klein I got from him, but in heavy blue stardust. My only concern was with the custom joint size. The quartz noodles are great and work well, but I personally prefer a banger or just the normal cup. With that in mind I requested a 10mm instead of a custom sized. Mike said that it of course wouldn't be a problem, but suggested that the piece should be slightly bigger with a bigger joint. I trust Mike's opinion over my own when it comes to glass matters so I gave it the ok. All in all the piece ended up being 1.5 inches taller. Most of which is in the neck. Functions on point and the way it sparkles and shimmers in different lights in awesome. Really couldn't be happier once again. :D

Function video:

I'll get a better one once I get a proper nail.

Just wanted to get on here and explain my lack of response from time to time. Since the first post on this thread i have been overwhelmed with orders and have tried to address them in a timely fashion and try to give proper time quotes for production of discussed piece. I am a one man show, if i spent the time responding instantly to all messages nothing would get done.

I am also willing to try new things, but that has to come when my time and budget can afford it. I do not mark my prices up, i sell at the cost to run my business and pay my self a minimum hourly wage. When i create something new their is a risk it can crack all the time, and try to stay in a comfort zone so i can continue to feed my family.

Also thank you all for your business and have a happy holiday.

@distilledglass I am excited that you have finally decided to join the forum. Welcome to FC! It has been awesome watching your skills progress since I first contacted you. The blue stardust klein you just made is phenomenal! Keep up great work and when you finally have time to work on new designs I have a custom piece that I've been dying to make a reality

Mike made a recycler for me in August and he is in the process of making a second one for me as we speak. I really can't say enough good things about both Mike and the whole experience.

Anyone who is thinking about it, I really encourage you to get something from Mike. You will end up with a totally unique and custom piece at a very reasonable price. There is no risk... No money changes hands until you approve the pictures and videos of your actual piece. You will also be supporting a small business owner, forum member, and all around good guy.
