Where in the hierarchy does that fall in relation to the level of Nirvanna that is @dorkus_molorkus .:lmao:

you ascend to majesticus assholius

I have???
Well about fucken time. This promotion is way fucken overdue.
How long before the business cards are printed?

you are obligated to dispense condescension at every opportunity.

Really?? Are you sure?
I dont wanna put you out of a job or nothing, but FUCK YEAH!!

Being condescending is a waste of my valuable time & resources.
I would have thought most of you would know this by now.
But no, we have to go over it again & again like fucking retards.

This place would go to shit if I wasnt here holding everything together like @Stu 's special sock is all stuck together.

I believe I may have just met those above mentioned obligations?
Nice work by me:tup:

However I prefer to see myself as some sort of a deity, to be revered by & a source of wonderment for the heathen masses.

After all, I taught Jesus how to bowl.

Our basic rule is "Be nice." If you are not nice, you will get a warning point even if you are provoked. Anyone here is free to disagree with anyone else as long as it's done with respect. If someone isn't nice and is breaking the rules, use the Report function and do not respond in kind. If the rules aren't broken, either ignore it or use a PM.

Pakalolo - Thank you for making clear what the rules of engagement are. I believe these rules represent the price of admission to an excellent site and believe they are important to the community feel of the site... which is phenomenal. I have been to far too many sites where the experience was ruined by a few a-holes whose only joy in life seems to be acting like a child and getting a rise out of someone, anyone.

I have a personality flaw when it comes to 'perceived' injustice/disrespect .... whether it was pointed at me or someone else. My knee jerk reaction is, as you highlighted, to respond in kind and more so. I'll do what I can to keep it in check and should I run afoul of the 'be nice' rule will accept the result without argument.

I've just disagreed with @OF in the Ascent thread, wish me good luck! :p

Good luck, although I'm not sure why......

If we disagree, I'm happy to give my reasons for my opinion and think that (not personalities) can (and should) be the basis of the discussion. Facts should stand on their own and be verifiable and repeatable. That's how science works. Science, by it's nature' strives to be objective.

In the case in point, thermodynamics of the Ascent, I hope you find that in my response?

In a bigger sense, some of the older and more experienced guys trying to share that so others can benefit are naturally going to have 'better' answers than some others. The 'Be nice' rule hopefully keeps the hostility under control but I don't think it's right to blame poor Iwien for being right too often? Or trying to answer too many questions. IMO we could use more like him, Vitolo and the rest of the oft maligned. They are the strength of this resource. We need them.

In all honesty, OF, I really haven't felt maligned that often. Maybe it happens in chat (which I never visit) or maybe I'm just oblivious to it.

Now, if you knock me off my throne... I see this as yet another opportunity... An opportunity to start ripping pieces off the throne and using them! hahahaha

Kidding and Peace all! :peace:
Dave.. I want to ask you to take special care when sitting at your 'throne'. Doesn't exactly look safe.

I too was still learning at 62. But now.................I know everything.

The only problem though is I don't know what I don't know.
I really liked the wording of this post. It resonates years of respectful experience and mischief. May I ask out of pure playful curiosity; why did you get banned? :)

..... why did you get banned? :)

Because I said something that I KNEW that I was going to get banned for but felt at the time that the ban was worth it because what I said had to be said. Now please don't ask me what I said because I can't fucking remember what I said. What I DO remember after the ban was over was clearly posting that there was no hard feelings and that the ban that I got was deserved and if I were in their shoes, I would have done the exact same thing.

(This probably peaked your curiosity even more..............sorry. Maybe one of the mods can check in with more details....................or not.)
