Amsterdam Coffee Shops - Which Have Vaporizers To Use?

Thanks.

Returning home to UK is like a prison sentence!

Regarding the Volcano bag, i agree, the hygiene issue kept popping into my mind too. The Verdamper and Arizers can be worked around so that your lips aren't touching anything other than your hand.

Goed idee ! I've been looking for vapes as well during my last trip (2years ago).
I wasn't pleased as well by used and dirty bags and was ready to pay for a new one, so bringing your own isn't a bad idea !
BTW, I recall the bud-tender from Barney's lounge cleaning the valve/mouthpiece with alcohol wipe. The Volcano there was in Selfservice but of course they are willing to help you if you don't know how to fill the bag.

I guess I've been to the Happy Feelings as well for the Verdampers : entrance with some tourniquet ?
Amsterdam, the Cup, ...only missing is some proper vaporlounge or vaporist meetings.

Although not totally sanitized, didn't they have alcohol pads to wipe the mouthpieces off ? Amnesia has them and i always bring my own ;) I'm bringing my own vape this trip- solves everything

@VaporsVaporizer Well, if they did have wipes I didn't see them using any. You can kind of tell where you think they would clean things, Barney's Lounge being one of them, Club Media being another (of the ones I visited). The only place I saw any wipes was in the Azarius headshop on the same street as Happy Feelings.

I'm not a huge germaphobe , but i've always wiped the mouthpieces off before use in A'dam. Amnesia always did it before they gave me the bag.

To be honest, it wasn't until I went to Happy Feelings on my 2nd day there where they pointed out not to put mouth to tube (of the Verdamper, which I greatly enjoyed by the way) that it dawned on me. I'd been too focused on getting baked for weeks!

I don't mean to sidetrack this thread, but I'm wondering what the current rules/laws/customs are about coffeeshops, especially for US citizens. I enjoyed them a few times in the 80s and 90s, but it's been a while since I've been to Holland. I was under the impression that a few years ago they started limiting access to Dutch citizens, or perhaps to those with permits or something??? It sounds like they're wide open again. Any help on this? I actually put off a trip to Amsterdam a few years ago because it sounded so restrictive.

The only restriction in place right now is the 5 gram rule at the coffeeshops. You are allowed as a non citizen to purchase 5 grams at a time and only allowed to have 5 grams on you. The Coffeeshops are open , but there are fewer than there used to be.

Yes, that's my experience too. 5g limit, no passports or ID asked for if you speak English (as opposed to Dutch in case you thought it was limited to just the Dutch) unless you look young in which case they'll ask for ID.

I heard all the coffee shops near the country's border to neighboring countries have been removed.

Mark Rute really does not like making money lol.

I think the decision always belong to the city. Most of the border cities to Belgium and Germany (mostly south) aren't allowing foreigners, you must live there and you need a pass delivered by the city. Fortunately for the poor foreigners, they can still do a few more kms and find another one where their money is accepted. There is a huge hypocrisy about coffeeshop in general and I think the right-wing current government doesn't help. In statistics, a lot of people from those border cities are also "bored" of being drug tourism attraction. The behaving of some stoners and business around (blackmarket) is seen bad by the majority of people, bud I don't think situation is much better now. Instead of having a clear regulation the politics seems to prefer to limit as much as they can the situation going on since years without making it better. First they forbid the shrooms, then restriction on the shops, controls in the shops, closed shops,... I'm not sure how they will sort it out. Maybe it could be "solved" with fully "legalized production" or only when the other country will go on decriminalization and legalization ? In fact the other country are putting pressure on NL for their coffeeshops.

Well... if any Dutch can give more details it would be better maybe :p.
And if any is "on" to make a kind of vapor meeting I may trip for the occasion, some coffee-shop could be a nice place to hang out.

Very interesting--thanks for the responses. Maybe, instead of Amsterdam, I'll head to Telluride or Seattle!

Seren,

I'm very tempted but waiting to see about new US - AMS flight options that are very cheap. Last trip the tics were about $1300 but read that Norwegian Airline and Asian ???? may be doing some east coast Euro flights for like $99---that gets me cranked.
Would still need to get from MN to NY but price would get me serious.

I love AMS but thinking more about a spring 2018 trip.

Have you ever attended King's Day? I'm not sure if I'd like the canals more like my avatar pic OR more like your pics above??
Wondering if Kings might be too too much ???
Are you going this year?

Wow $1300 @MinnBobber - that's serious price-age! :o

I've never been for Kings Day before, but want to experience it, even if only the once! It does look pretty mental! But I'm there for 5 days, so I'll have plenty of time to chill afterwards.

I would love to wander around a good vape shop....... do you you know of any, other than the head shops which sell a bit of everything?

I only found one good vape shop, Azarius, kind of midway between Central and Museum areas. Huge selection of vapes and IF you look like a potential buyer, you can sample if you brought your own herbs.
Quality vapes and quality glass. And they sell truffles/magic mushrooms but not sure if that's a good idea in a strange city as it is strange enough, in a good way, without trippin' ???

IMO, the other headshops were tourist traps with giant bongs etc.

Are you looking for coffeeshop suggestions too?

Thanks for the tip @MinnBobber  ..... I'll check it out.

I certainly won't be trippin on Kings Day. The friend I'm going with does have a favourite place for truffles though - so we may well enjoy some time meandering in the parks when things are less hectic.

I do like to explore new coffee shops each time I visit, so if you have any particular favourites, I'm all ears :)

Hi there,
During my last trip I wanted to make sure to visit this coffeeshop : " Mr K & Co ", they carry somme good genetics. It's not far from " 1st Hulp " another really good shop. However the prices kind of piss me off a bit, but when you want variety/novelty and can't grow anymore... It's still possible to find good deals through the city mostly around the center. The stud, Club media, ... i've heard about the kade also, just a few example.
Try a visit to Boerejongens west (the one in the center I never liked cause the budtender are "speedy").

On a side note : I'm heading to Barcelona next for a little time. I much prefer the CSC way of doing things than in Coffeeshops : you are a member of their association and they consider you as such and not as a customer. You aren't force to buy any drinks or anything at all..but just enjoy the club facility and their products  If anyone needs help in getting to the clubs you can PM me it will be a pleasure for me to help you find what you want as yu can't just ring to their door and become a member, you need to get a recommendation/invitation of some sort.
One of the club I visited during my previous trip has the Sublimator, for example... Generally they all have good herbs, resins and concentrates but it's better to know where you go before to pay a membership. Cheaper than in NL and more variety/quality. I don't say there isn't in Dam, just a general consensus.

@Seren I've been the week before and it was getting hard to find somewhere to stay then, it is much worse nearer the time, try and book sooner rather than later.

I've tended to rent an apartment rather than stay in a hotel. Much nicer.
