So how hot do you think the nano's wooden shell gets?

Do you guys think these would work? Give an indication of how preheated your nano is, :)

haHpKS7l.jpg

They peel off and can be stuck onto the nano. I'm thinking the 100-220 degree range might be what I'm looking for?

At 7 on the dial, it levels out at about 105F with ~65-75F room temp.
The 50-150F should be a good strip to use.

Or an infrared temp gun. Different parts of the wood get to different temps, so check the same spot all the time.

For me, determining if I have presoaked the wood is moot.
I never turn mine off, and it is pretty much parked at 6.5 on the dial 24/7.

I am finding that when I travel, I have had to use different quality of power sources, it has impacted the dial setting in my experience. When camping, running extensions, splitters, etc, I run between 7.5 and 8 for the same effect as 6.5 at home.

I also gave up on whole nugs. Like Enchantre, I tend to have a better experience with a grind.

I usually prefer grinding as well but whenever I make concentrates I always mop up the dish with some little buds. They go great in the e-nano, massive clouds after breaking it down after the first few flavour hits :p:rockon:

Mine is sometimes off, sometimes on. Don't find that much of a pre-heat is necessary. 5 minutes at 10 and then down to 6.5 usually works fine. Don't forget, ambient temp plays a role. As it gets colder (and I try to save some heating costs ;)), it will take a little longer or even require a slight bump up on the dial.

Have had same experience with slightly different setting for different power sources. Worst so far has been crappy household extension cord that a friend has in garage. Have to add about 1 1/4 to setting for same heat. Also think being on same circuit as major on/off appliance - like a refrigerator - can slightly affect power when appliance is running. Could all be in my head, but seems that heat was fluctuating a little on same circuit, so moved to a different receptacle.

Loose grind to start - even a good finger grind is OK - then grind more while in stem after couple hits when load dries out. @Enchantre spot on here. Works great for me!

I was reading more posts In anticipation of my e-nano arriving (today), and thought maybe I should have purchased extra stems. It seems that having extra is essential as they break quite easily; from what I've read. So now my fear is that I'll get my nano and immediately spaz out and break the stem, rendering it useless until more stems are purchased/delivered. Can I simply get a stem from a local head-shop in case of emergency?

I do not think it breaks easy at all, it is quite solid.
But it is nice to have a second... I like to always have a clean one on hand.

Stems neet to be a specific diameter to fit just right. Get them direct from EpicVape, Ed or Joda.

Order a wood stem @Ed's TnT that way u always have a back up .Epic stems are top notch nice thick glass.:tup:

Also check out @Snappo wood blanks thread for a nice custom wood stem.or a nice custom glass piece from @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd and a carbed gong:nod:

Been using some of my stems/GonGs for more than 1 1/2 years. Nary so much as a crack (knocking nano wood :)). Some are probably a bit more delicate depending on production, but if you're careful with them and don't leave them on the heat for 30 minutes+ at a time they seem pretty durable.

Is always nice to have a spare, though. I soak mine for a couple hours sometimes when cleaning, and good to have a backup - especially if you have a tile floor. As far as I know, there is nothing at the headshop or hardware store that will serve as a temporary replacement. Guess you could go UD style if you have some silicone lying around, but still think a backup is a worthwhile investment.

Thanks, I'm definitely getting a backup and yes, I do have tile floors. Do you soak in hot-water with dish soap?

Epicvape sells them for much cheaper than JoDa, only $14 a stem (Adjust-a-bowl), so if your on a budget I'd go with them. Save up for a nice worked JoDa GonG/Stem. Did you see his Kracken?

I think flotnoke means soaking on a Solvent, like Isopropyl or Ethanol.

I use ISO alcohol. Usually the lazy method - leave screen in and soak whole GonG for an hour or two. Use Qtip and toothpick to give a quick "scrub" of the glass. Rinse with hot water and let dry.

Or, if glass not too dirty just pop in a new/clean screen and drop cruddy one in alcohol for hour or so. Quick scrub with toothbrush, rinse and dry. Always a good idea to pick up some extra screens, too. Think they are still only 5 for $5. IMO better to just grab them on same order as something else so have extras included in same shipping.

You mean make hot cocoa with the GonG, right? Not the silicone. Don't think that part would do much for you. Sorry to poke fun... just read kinda funny and gave me a chuckle.

Silicone should roll right off and if tough, soak for a minute or two in very hot water. Will give expandability/flexibility and make it slipperier. Also, should make it easier to put back on.

Maybe try blow dryer, heat it up so the Silicone is more flexible. Or take a few dry hit to get the stem/GonG heated first.

Use some water to lubricate the glass to slide the silicone off, if your brave maybe try a drop of vegetable oil.

Wahoo...my baby arrived!! Gonna go have a session, will report details in the am.

BTW, this vape is beautiful, love it!

Well... we probably won't see @blamejane for a while. Not typing coherently anyway. ;)

Still vaguely remember my first night with my nano. :smug: Many other similar ones since... like last night, tonight, tomorrow night..... Pretty much every good night.

I'm happy for you, but irritated with my letter carrier. I met her at the mailbox this afternoon and she claimed to have nothing despite an "out for delivery" notification. Then I got a weird notification hours later saying it had been delivered at/in my mailbox which they never ever do. I'm hoping she was just lazy and didn't want to drive all the way back out to deliver it. But sadly, your koa's twin is currently in the Twilight Zone.

You should take a photo when you can get it in some nice light.....

I really hope you get it today man. I've never heard of an out for delivery status and the postman not delivering it or at least attempting to (if signature is required) that very day. Worse, if it says delivered it sounds like it was delivered to the wrong address. Better call them. No offense but fuck USPS I've had some terrible experiences.

Don't know if this will make things seem better or worse, but here it goes.

I own a small business and ship via USPS every single day. I track packages religiously to make sure my customers receive their orders.

We have entered the part of the year where shipping times have begun to lag and tracking check ins get a bit wonky. Sometimes when it says things were delivered, but they weren't, tracking will update again around midnight to a new expected delivery date. Usually the next day.

Hoping that's the case for you. If not, you may have to go there in person and speak to them.
