I would say the nose breathing technique will not work well with the PD or other log vapes. using pyronyms technique does not create enough back pressure to effectively pull on the tubes of those vapes. Sure you might be able to get vapor off of it, but not a big hit like you would get with the LB. That particular technique works with the LB because of how the airflow in the box is designed, much less resistance than the Log Vapes, and that low resistance is key to how this technique works.

Definitely agree with Devo's post (nice new avatar by the way :o ).

Newfound/rekindled love for my MFLB these last few days, been working on a paint-job all alone and the box has been great company :)

Is the Power Adapter still in Beta? If so, does anyone know when the real version will be released?

For the people with PA's, is it worth it to just buy the Beta?

Man you are going to love the adapters. I ordered my PA and car adapter only a few days from going on a trip across the country and told Magic Flight in the comments box of my order that it would be great to have them by the time I left. The adapters came the day before I left, and boy did they make the trip great. The people at MF are great, and can't thank them enough. I got my Vriptech bong setup caught by El Paso border patrol on the way home, but they missed my LB. It is so great, especially with the adapters that I really don't seem to need anything else, and I went for a decade taking big vapor bong hits. So yea man, go ahead and get excited for your adapters, and the car adapter is especially sick because it eliminates the need for a bright flame in your car so it is VERY stealth

I saw the Power Adapter at the recent trade show (Champs) and it looks awesome! I can't wait for them to release it. This vaporizer is already great, but the power adapter will really make it even better. I didn't see a car adapter at the show, but the sound of one really makes me excited.

Hi. With my tiny weak hands it's hard to grind vigorously enough to get a fine grind with a manual grinder so awhile back I went and purchased a Hamilton Beach Custom Grind grinder. I'll pre-grind my herb for future use. However, I notice that after one or two grinding rounds, it will not go on again. I use one of the fine settings. Recently I ground some herb and a few minutes later, tried to grind some more, but it wouldn't turn on. This has happened before. I waited a few hours and went back and was able to finish the job. It's quite frustrating. I am saving a bunch of AVB, which I hope to grind up finer and use for some eventual edibles (not a cook, but want to learn to make some simple AVB edibles). Are there better electronic grinders out there that will not stall? I can't return it to Walmart as it is permeated with herbal material at this point...:D
Thanks!

shortwind,
Had my box for almost two months now and loving it. I've been toking for almost twenty years, and this is the first thing that actually saves me money on herb (I also have an Arizer V-Tower Extreme). Long story short, I've been off work almost two years with MS - I would be at a job making more in a week than I get in a month on disability - so I really have to conserve my weed.

Since I got my MFLB, I've gone from smoking 1.5 gs a day (down from two + grams a day when I was working and could afford it), to less than a gram a day of various Kush strains....and I actually weigh my stuff up each and every day on digis, and let it sit out in the open air for about 24 hours before grinding.

I basically stay "medicated" from the first hour I wake up (I always eat first) until the second I go to sleep off of less than a gram. Pretty impressive, thanks to the MFLB (and my home made keif hash)...and I haven't even touched my ABV for cooking yet.

That's another thing - I use my 4 piece "pollen" grinder (Sharp Stone), and have had no problems getting 6-8 nice hits off 2/3 a trench, while still conserving my kief to make hash with. (everything on the internet says you should only use a two piece, but I say otherwise, if your bud's good enough)

It took a good week or so, packing 5+ trenches a day, but I got my technique down. Only achieved combustion a few times in the thing.

I still combust (via a glass bong) a few times a day, but I also have MS and find my feet pain gets really bad the odd day I give my lungs/throat a break and only use the MFLB for vaporization.

I burned through the stock batteries (I think I let them get too hot), and got a set of 4 Maha Powerex 2700s - one question: is it safe to leave the Mahas on the stock MFLB charger after they're finished charging, if it's for only 12 hours at the most at a time, or am I better off just pulling the batteries out of the charger as soon as they're finished (even though I may not use them for a 3-12 hours)?

hello all,
first of all let me apologize for most likely asking a question that was already answered in this thread but this thread is 360+ pages long and i just can't read all that!!! so again i am sorry.
anyways..... i have three vapes: A Da Buddah desktop vape, an Iolite portable vape, and a MFLB. i actually bought the MFLB second and the Iolite third. i bought the MFLB first cause of all the reviews i did read when i was tossed up between it and the Iolite made it sound clearly better. So i bought it and about 4 weeks later bought an Iolite cause i really didn't "feel" like i was getting everything that everyone was raving about. i got the Iolite and was very happy with it and the results i was getting and basically stopped using my MFLB.
so why am i here?? cause i want to find out if it's me that can't use the MFLB right or is the box just defective. Let me start by saying it is TOTALLY possible i am not using it correctly, i am big enough to admit i may be wrong, but then again, i have two other vapes i have no issue using and getting the results i seek. so here is what i have expierienced with all my vapes and why i am asking here what i may be doing wrong.
1) My Da Buddah - varaible temp control that i usually leave the dial with the maring on the dial not quite at the 12:00 position, it's slightly before that position. even though this vape it variable temp you still have to have proper inhale control and draw control to control the temp. i have learned the proper draw for the temp setting i use and get great results. I get a very medicated feeling that i desire, i can taste the medication, and i get visible exhale clouds on exhaling. now i know what i "see" when i exhale should not matter according to what i have read on here but i do want to note that yes i do see exhale clouds
2) My Iolite - fixed temp vape i still use a steady slow draw like my Buddah. there is a waiting time after first start to get it up to temp but is very minimal. my results from this vape is very similar to my Buddah. i still get an excellent medicated feeling that i desire, i also tase my medication like i should, and again i get visible exhale clouds.
3) My MFLB - again fixed temp vape and according to what i have read a slightly higher temp than my Iolite. Again i know that proper draw and breath control is required to control that temp. i have used the box both with the inhale tube and without it, drawing straight from the box. i have used full trays, half trays, and close to empty trays. my results from the MFLB..... i get slightly medicated. i don't get the strong medicated feeling that i like that get from my other vapes. the taste of my medication is weaker (and i have used the same type of meds in all three units so i know what taste i should be getting), and i never get any exhale clouds.
So.... any ideas on what i may be doing wrong?? i am using what i am pretty sure is proper draw strength. i have no issue with my slow steady (usually between 12 to 15 seconds from start to finish) draw that i use on the other vapes. i grind my medication extremely fine so i know that is not the issue. i use fresh batteries so that can't be it. i know exhale clouds SHOULDN'T mean anything but i find it very strange that i get them with my buddah and my iolite and i get VERY medicated but don't get them with my MFLB and i don't get the same medicated feeling. like i said i can admit i was doing something wrong, IF someone can help me figure out what that is. Or could i just have a defective box??? i really want to explore this before i go and say i have a bad box and send it back only for it to come back and find out it WAS me.

anyone of the MFLB users out there that can help me??? i am all ears and waiting suggestions.

thanks
Mike

mmenzie: First, the LB isn't a fixed temperature vaporizer. The longer you leave the battery in contact, the hotter the screen gets, all the way to the point of combustion. As you mention, your inhale speed is what regulates the temperature, and if it is too fast then the screen will never get hot enough to deliver much vapour. If you start your draw too soon, then even a slow draw can keep the screen from reaching a decent temperature. In other words, drawing too soon or too fast might be why you get thin low temperature vapour.

Given your experience with vaporizers, however, I'm assuming your draw isn't the issue. Try the test described here:

http://www.vaporpedia.com/w/index.p...w_can_I_tell_if_my_Box_is_running_too_cool.3F

If you don't want to scorch a load just as a test, another thing you could try is pyromon's technique. Start with a full battery and see if the LB delivers thick cloudy vapour. If it doesn't, then you probably have a faulty box. Email Magic-Flight with your serial number and a description of your problem and the tests you did.

Hello all, about to order my first MF Launch Box

One quick question

I want another pair of batteries as I often toke for the entire day and with friends. Should I order another pair from Blissville or can I get batteries just as good in a local store? I understand i'll have to peel their labels myself if I do that

Thanks

This is all good news minus your bong setup getting taken. I don't plan on ever being away from a power source or a car so I will have little use for the stock batteries. I do know that they will come in handy one day. Once the PA comes, I'll definitely be using my MFLB more than I do now. If I didn't own an EQV prior to buying the MFLB, the MFLB would be all I need.

MAGIC FLIGHT, PLEASE HELP!!!

My PA just stopped working! I had ordered about 2 weeks ago and received the PA in the mail last Saturday, and I have been using it every day atleast twice a day. But today my PA just stopped working!! Right during the middle of a session. I had noticed the the button would get stuck occasionally but I don't think thats the problem. Lets get a few things out of the way:

I made sure everything was plugged in properly; the light did not come on.
I made sure the temperature was goodl dial was turned on high-still no light.
I made sure I did not mess up the inside copper wire that connected to the battery in the MFLB; looked good, still no light.

So then I got my batteries out to see if the light would come on, and they still work perfectly. I noticed that at some points with the PA, that it would light but once I started hitting, the light went out. Now I can't get a light at all!

PLEASE Magic flight, or if a forum member can shoot me a PM magic flights e-mail or number, please someone help me! I paid damn near $70 and I haven't got even a weeks use out of the PA!! I know it was a beta, but it a;so was a pretty pricey one!! Please help, shoot me a pm!!

thank you

mod note: We don't have the PM function here, and anytime your vape product is not working, you're better off contacting the vape maker or reseller directly. Magic Flight's website and email are both linked under his avatar, in every one of his posts.

Try putting the battery part in the box, then twist the battery up once or twice about 90 degrees to either side, then bring it back down perpendicular to the box. I noticed that I had to do this sometimes when the light doesn't come on.

MAGIC FLIGHT, PLEASE HELP!...

Hi,

One thing to check is to ensure that the wall adapter unit has a green light on. That will at least narrow the problem down a bit. If it is not lit, check the main plug. Otherwise, probably the best option is to contact us via email with you postal address so that we can issue a replacement unit. We would like to get the broken one back so that we can determine what happened -- the sudden failure you describe is a bit unusual.

wenzel, check the little plate on the end of the piece that goes into the LB, where the button is. If it is loose, it will stop the PA from working. Your saying that your button is getting stuck makes me think this is the problem. I have had the same thing happen to mine. When I tighten the plate back up, the button no longer sticks and the unit works.

ok so the every thing is plugged in correctly, green lights are on, I tried twisting the battery, still nothing. I tightened the plate as tight as I could, nothing still.

magic flight what is your email, I will gladly send this back to you!

I'm having the same troubles. No vapor, low end high, minimal taste.

If you figure out the trick can you relay the solution? I'll do the same if I figure out the technique. Once my betteries charge I'm going to try that technique that was suggested

You can get the same Imedion batteries in a 4 pack for just under $11 from Amazon or Thomas Distributing.

http://www.amazon.com/IMEDION-2400-...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1298647616&sr=8-1

Locally, you can find NiMH bats, but they probably won't be the best brand or the best price. But any NiMH 2000 mAh or higher will do. MF doesn't recommend Radio Shack bats.

I'm pretty sure I read on here that the 2700 are what they are rated at. Might need a charger that has a break in cycle to get the full potential though.

Ok so far so good with my mflb. One thing I think magic flight should consider is a fluted mouthpiece. Something that fits tight to the box. I used the tube For the most part so far. When I tried it native it was better, but at times it got a bit hot. For this I would gladly pay extra for a special mouthpiece. And I have always prefered a fluted end, and I think it could be helpful for controling technique. It would certainly be more comfortable for me at least.
