Anybody ever order from "DX" DealExtreme?

I place an order with them 19 days ago and haven't received the package yet. Just wondering what others experiences are with them and how long it took to get your package. I couldn't get a hold of them by chat and their online tracking is a joke. How can I get an update on tracking from these guys? Btw, will it cost extra to call them direct if I have ATT? I never call out of the country so I have no idea about overseas calling.

I bought a lighter abouyva week ago... I haven't been paying attention to the tracking but I expect I'll be waiting awhile.

My last order of 5 of those small torches took 7 weeks to make it to florida. Still worth the savings to me though seeing the torches were less than $3 each and shipping free. If you're in a hurry never order from china.

I ordered a lighter with the cheap shipping over six months ago, never got it.
When I went back to make an inquiry, none of the links worked and I said fuckit.

I have ordered several items from DX. They are extremely unreliable. Of the last 4 items I ordered from them, only one ever arrived. They aren't easy to get a refund from either, but it IS possible. You just have to keep at it. They have the best prices on the web, but the frustration level for the discount may not be worth it for you. And don't order anything that you need/want soon...

If I may make a suggestion, this is my favorite torch for my Lotus, and it is cheap and fast free delivery from Amazon...

Just wanted to add that nothing I have ordered from them ever arrived in less than a month, and they won't even start looking into lost orders until after 6 weeks have passed. At least that is my experience.

I ordered a flashlight from there once, it took about 2-1/2 weeks to get to NH. It was about what I expected.

Jeezus I should have never ordered from them, the savings is not worth the wait. Is the bulb of that lighter you suggested fat or fairly slim and is it made of durable glass? I know I'd drop mine or it would fall to the floor often enough so I need one that won't easily break and get butane everywhere.

It is high impact plastic and mine has hit hard floors several times.

Ok thanks I might get one since they are very cheap and get good feedback.

Damn, do people typically end up waiting for a month or more for Fast Tech orders too?

I'm sure if I had upgraded my shipping to something trackable I would have gotten it, but it costs more than the lighter does to do so.

Right, the cheap prices are the draw. When I complained about items never arriving they suggested going the upgraded shipping route. I said if the prices are not better than ordering domestically then what's the point?
I HAVE gotten a couple items from them, but less than half have arrived.

I trust dx to deliver everytime. It takes anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months for delivery ime. But I have seen better prices for the same items on ebay.

I used to order computer accessories from there. Stay away. Dodgy as fuck customer service, shitty quality plastic junk and just shit all together.

Just processed another refund with them. I went back and checked and over the last 2 years I have ordered 8 items from them. 3 arrived, 4 were refunded and one I just wrote off. Not a very good record I think.
I never paid extra for shipping so I can't really blame them for the losses. It is likely Hong Kong (or China) Post and USPS that actually lost them. One of the items that DID arrive (a butane torch) was hanging half out of the envelope it was in. It worked fine so no foul. And as long as they are willing to refund the ones I don't get I can't really complain. But don't order anything you need soon from them or anything that might be fragile. Or pay for the shipping upgrade.

@eyesofgood I still haven't got mine. it said it shipped 10-27...

any luck?

Nope, mine claims shipment on 10/17 and it hasn't arrived. I doubt they actually shipped it on the 17th if they have shipped it at all.

Does any know if most pocket torch lighters have safety switches? I am thinking about getting the Zico Regal MT-06 which has an easy push button but I am worried about it getting triggered too easily.

Don't forget there is a big container slowdown going on in Cal ports, so many things that are actually coming <g> will be delayed. That being said, who knows with these guys.

I have the other ZICO (T-38) lighter that has a similar switch and there is no safety. I like how it feels in my hand, but I use it as a table lighter rather than carrying it around. Not because of the switch, but due to the size and weight.

I was considering that Zico also but thought the Zico Regal would be a better design to use with my VG coil. Now I don't think I'll get it since it might be a little too fat for pockets. Do you think the push buttons on those Zicos are easy to accidentally set off? I'd be in trouble if I had it in a pocket and a light bump gets it going.

Can you or anyone recommend some reliable pocket sized torches that actually have a safety switch, or at least ones that aren't easily triggered be accident?

I have/had TAS (Torch Acquisition Syndrome) pretty bad so I have quite a few torches, even tho I haven't had the Lotus for that long. None of the torches I bought (about 10) have any issues going off in my pocket, tho I will say that I tend not to wear tight jeans any more. The only one I think COULD go off in my pocket would be the Zico as it's button action is very smooth and takes little force, but I doubt that would be a problem either. It's just a little big to carry around.

As far as usage my favorite torch is the one I included a couple posts up in this thread. It was cheap with fast delivery from Amazon and it works great. After that my next favorite is the Honest torch that came with my Lotus from EZVape.

How a torch feels in your hand and which lighting mechanism (button) they use lead to most folks likes and dislikes. That and the flame length and temp. It's kinda a personal preference...

ordered from dx a bunch in the past. it takes a long time to get here. some of the items are junk... but what do you expect?

I have also been pleasantly surprised too from dx. flashlights, screw drivers, phone screen cover, batteries, were all good buys.

ipod cords have proven to be bad, and i dont even see them on their site anymore...

Ok it wasn't exactly the style I wanted but I said what the hell and jumped on your favorite. Just ordered it off Ebay for around $5 and the seller lives in state about 4 hours away so if they go ahead and send it off tomorrow or Thursday, I should get it before the weekend. They do seem to get great reviews in general.
