Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

I bought a Firefly probably two weeks before the Crafty and the Mighty came out. And yes I am a Storz and Bickel fan. I've used my Volcano practically daily for well over ten years and not even a hiccup. Just keeps going, COMPLETELY dependable period. That's the primary reason any medical Club here in the Bay area that has vaporizers on site, they're always Volcano's.
Curious to find out the various ways the Crafty dethrones the Firefly. It would kinda suck to already put my Firefly in the classifieds, though honestly I've never read any thread so obsessively as this one!
Then again, I could have both I guess though that seems almost obscene LOL

How old are your kids? Mine are 8 and 10 and I will grind/pack my portables and go vape outside when out of town (which is every 2nd weekend with a kid playing rep hockey) and I'm yet to have them clue in ... when they do I guess it will be time for education ... (I don't want my kids vaping too young either ... but I'm not a hypocrite ... they won't get it from me until their adults but I do expect they will occasionally use cannabis in their teenage years :)) ... I also feel that leaving education to the school in this area also would significantly increase the odds of them not understanding properly and would put them at heavier risk for less safe drugs which are abundantly available ... education is the best tool ... and the education around cannabis in North America is abysmal (its at such a stark contrast from the facts and popular culture that it gives one the impression that one must be being lied to about everything ... very dangerous!)
I wish more parents were like you !!! Especially where I live you have no idea. The ignorance is so thick it's like wading through mud :mental::disgust:

Easily dethroned my firedfly on every level.

Looks? Flavor? Heat-up time? User swappable battery? Easiness to clean? No plastic mouthpiece? Nearly completely convection? Nearly completely instantaneous convection and no lingering conduction to eat away your herbs while you're not hitting it?

I know this vape is new, and newer is "better," but come the fuck on, dude.

EDITED TO OVERWRITE MY IDIOCY.

Anyone having to wait like 30 seconds to connect to the crafty? My new lg g3 takes that long but my gfs iphone4s is super fast.

He's on a "new vape" honeymoon, EDA. It'll eventually pass.

Although, S&B honeymoons can be pretty insidious and can hang around for awhile and have been known to cause permanent terminal damage to the logic centers of the brains of those who are afflicted. ;)

Its actually a fantastic fuckin' vape. It has replaced my EVO since I received it and that is saying something. The "plastic" they use is extremely well suited for the task at every touch-point. No tastes at all, very inert, and cleanable since it doesn't instantly crumble when coming into contact with ISO . . . :)

Not to mention no reports of accidental combustion. *Edit* (NO reports here)

My Mighty has also replaced my Cloud and UD. I have not used another vape for flowers in almost a month. I use my SSV with oil kit as my concentrate vape now and the Mighty all day every day.

I've no doubt about this, @t-dub. I trust your opinion as much as anyone's.

But to suggest this vape is better than the FF in every way as others have? You haven't, but you don't seem far from suggesting it.

But, if push came to shove, I'll take my less-than-10-second-to-heat-up-no-plastic-in-the-air-path Firefly over something that costs me over $400, makes me wait for it to warm up, has a non-user-replaceable-battery, loses material to conduction, and looks like something out of a toolbox.

No disrespect, @t-dub - obviously, you know your shit. And obviously, I respect the shit out of you.

But this vape is certainly not for everyone.

I think it's overpriced, ugly, and already behind the times. My FF and ESV can give me instantaneous convection hits. And if someone really thinks that constant conduction with no stirring is better than near-total convection with a stir or two ... then I guess the S&B options must feel like heaven.

Thankfully, we all have so many options these days...

I haven't and I won't enter that debate because I have never tried the FF so please excuse me if I gave that impression. The FF doesn't fit my lifestyle like the Crafty does, in my judgement for several reasons, and like you say "no vape is for everyone" which I agree with completely. I personally, love the design of the Crafty because we finally have something that isn't tube shaped, especially the mouthpiece, and the design is performance driven. The cooling units and fins really do work as well. It really is a nifty product that would make a hell of a stocking stuffer . . . :)

Hey, anytime you want to swap for a week, I'm ready to listen...

You're awesome, @t-dub ... but of course you already knew that... :D

Overpriced?? I don't know about the US but the esv is more expensive here. By $45.

Buy one and you will see why so many of us are raving.
I too didnt like the looks at first... But it's performance is undeniable... I was not sold on plastic either... Then I used it... It will change your mind lol.

My VAS is cured (for now), I'm still curious about the Elevape Smart Vape... Would be keen to see a comparison to the crafty/mighty.

That was going to be my next purchase but the crafty came along and took my vote. Reading both forums I'm sure I made the right decision. Just curious is all :p

The Firefly and Crafty are designed very differently. Yes, the FF is almost totally convection, and this brings pros and cons. Pros including fantastic taste and virtually zero loss of goodies when not being hit. Cons including some learning curve and limited battery life.

We all have to weigh the pros and cons when purchasing these expensive items. I have zero regrets with either purchase.

Apples and oranges IMO. I choose the fruit salad.

That being said if I had to choose, I would personally be more pissed about losing my Crafty than losing my FF. :2c:

I assure you, the Crafty and Mighty are more expensive in the US than the ESV.

I don't think I'll be buying one anytime soon.

I prefer to vape on *my* time, not when my vaporizer says it's ready to vape.

Yes, I fucked up. We can get over it.

I'm so terribly sorry that I brought up the idea that a vaporizer that costs $400, has non - user replaceable batteries, makes the user wait for it to heat up, makes the user change the temp through their phone, makes it use a plastic mouthpiece, and forces it to use partial - conduction heating, might not be all that great for everyone.

EDA, if you wanna fanboy for your vape go do it in your thread. I was just reading some of your posts over there about screen placement and difficulty in obtaining consistent results. So it seems no vape is perfect for everyone. Try Crafty, you will like it . . . :peace:

I'M NOT HATING ON ANY FUCKING THING!!!

I AM "FANBOYING" IN THE RESPECTIVE FUCKING THREADS!!!

I AM SIMPLY DEFENDING SOME VAPES, AND SAYING THE S&B MIGHT NOT BE THE ANSWER TO EVERYONE'S PRAYERS.

MAYBE THAT'S WHY I DON'T SAY NOTHING BUT NICE THINGS IN OTHER THREADS.

I'm not sure anyone here said the Crafty was "the answer to everyone's prayers". I just believe that when compared to other session-style vapes, it reigns supreme (along with the Mighty, of course). It seems the individuals that come in here to add negative points about the Crafty medicate differently (maybe 1-3 hits at a time), but I'm not sure what the point is when they aren't even in the market for this type of vape. I know one person said it was to add objectivity so people know the Crafty isn't perfect, but I think we all get that.

Oh, only when compared to other session-style vapes. It's a good thing that no one has compared it to instant-convection styled vapes... otherwise I might seem as though I belong in the looney bin.

And we must be especially thankful that no one has made flavor comparisons. Otherwise, it might seem as though FC is wildly incompent in its comparisons.

Now, I feel much better.

Ok, I know this is off topic so I really hope this doesn't spin the thread off in another direction for too long, or at all, but I gotta ask.

I'm that 2 to 3 hit person. Some times 4 but not often. After spending some time here, it seems that I am in the minority, but then when I read various strain reports, it's really common for someone to say that 3 hits from a particular strain puts them away.

I mean, sitting down and doing a session of like 10 to 15 hits, I just can't fathom that.

This is staring to sound like I'm trying to justify my usage, but believe me, I'm not. Just a bit confused. :hmm:

Am I in the minority, in the majority or somewhere in the middle? And can someone also tell me why in the hell this is important enough for me to ask this question?
