I don't think the fact that they are using high grade plastic in a part of the air path poses any kind of a problem. If there is a little off gassing it should only come off a brand new unit and should be over after a couple days and some iso cleaning. I assume this because it's S&B, they know their stuff. I'm more worried about the sturdiness of the unit as a whole, how easily this could be crushed apart like in a luggage if it's carelessly handled.

Sounds like a glitch or malfunction to me. If it keeps up I would contact S&B.

Totally agree. I was less than impressed when I found out it was plastic. But after seeing the stellar reviews I took the plunge and haven't looked back. It is expensive but it is leaps and bounds about any other portable I've tried.

It is all food/temp safe plastic.

I had a bit of plastic taste on a brand new cooling unit mouthpiece. I did a few dry runs (I don't think the dry runs made a huge difference, but helped).
But after, the first bowl it was fine. Can't even taste plastic any more (not even in the slightest) all I can taste is my sweet herbs and might I say the flavour and smoothness is a delight!

Of course I wish the opted for a glass vapor path and an aluminium body. But it's still the best portable I've ever used.

I don't understand why people disapprove of plastic in the first place. Seems to be treating "Plastic" as just one substance instead of a catch-all term for a wide variety of materials, some safe some not. The Volcano has lots of plastic and is one of, if not the only, vapes to be certified as a medical device. Vapor isn't smoke, and it seems in my mind a false equivalence for the purposes of "contaminating" the vapor path.

I know what you mean. I guess I am just reluctant switching to a "plastic" vape in the Mighty, because with my Solo I get all glass pathway.. Not sure how the taste will compare with the Mighty.

I have used the Solo extensively in the past and Mighty is pretty flavorful- You couldnt tell if the plastic is there- I just taste the plastic as I put my mouth on the straw but the vapor itself tastes pretty darn clean..

Well considering all plastic vapes you can at least taste the plastic on the first use (or a lot more with other cheaper vapes) it must impart some flavour to it. It also is reaching high temps regardless if it is smoke or vapor.
Glass doesn't impart any flavour and feels good to the touch on your lips.
Plus without some sort of verification, how do you know the exact plastics they are using (although I completely trust S&B, thus my purchase, I don't own any other plastic vapes and hate my friends).

I hate drinking from plastic cups, I don't allow any in my household. It feels cheap and ruins the experience.

I guess people are just expecting premium materials for a premium price. Look at the firefly, stainless steel and glass. Now imagine the crafty/mighty with an aluminium/ss body and some sort of glass lined cooling unit and glass tipped mouthpiece.
That would be the perfect vape IMHO. (maybe this wasn't practical, but more likely cost effective).

Regardless, the pros far outweigh the use of plastic, I am glad I took the gamble.

I've had my solo for maybe close to 9months now.
I personally think the solo has only slightly better flavour in the first draw or two. Then after that, the crafty is king.
The solo saps the flavour in the first few draws then it becomes a chore to finish. The crafty has more consistent and better flavour throughout and is IMHO smoother, especially at higher temps.

I still love my solo, it still does the job.

Should you get the mighty/crafty?
If you have the money, need better probability, need quicker extraction, and have a VAS only the best portable can scratch... Then yes!

If I couldn't afford or didn't need the probability I would still be happy with my solo as my driver.... But would still want the crafty hahahaha.

This is how I feel too, the very first draw on the Solo is on par or maybe slightly above the mighty/crafty, but after the first draw the solo flavor goes downhill really quickly, whereas the mighty/crafty only slightly drop in flavor.

Honestly, idk. I just thought it was supposed to be top of the line...and the fact that there is two of them instead of one..

I hear you. I just wasnt sure if I missed something. They could possibly spec a higher quality cell. Storz has a great track record, so I am sure whatever battery they used is good quality but it will surely degrade overtime.

You guys don't think you will still be vaping out of the Mighty in 3 years? lol

My Solo is going on two years and still holds a charge like new. If the Mighty/Crafty can live up to that ...win/win!

Regardless of the device, when one cell of a two-cell pack fails the other will follow quickly. Two cells provide a longer charge but a shorter overall lifespan.

Really? Idk anything about this stuff but I assumed the two batteries would make the Mighty last twice as long in the long run.

And even going by your explanation, wouldn't it take longer for that first cell to fail on the Mighty then the one cell on the Crafty?

It does take twice as long to run out of power, but we're talking about how soon the pack will fail. When one battery in a multi-cell pack goes bad, the resulting imbalance puts stress on the good cells and causes them to fail shortly afterwards. The lifetime of the battery pack is therefore dictated by its weakest cell. The advantage of a multi-cell pack is a higher capacity, meaning that the power lasts longer between charges, and not that you get a longer lifetime.

As for comparing the Crafty to the Mighty on that basis, you can't predict which will last longer. Since I'm pretty sure that they both use the same battery, the life expectancy should be roughly the same, with neither being favoured unless one of them puts extra stress on the power source. I don't see any reason to think that's the case.

I was thinking that the crafty would have to be sent in for battery service before the mighty, simply due to the fact that the crafty will be subjected to more charge/discharge cycles. Does this make sense?

ok, suppose you could borrow a crafty/mighty for a week or two....... would you still want to buy one ??

You mean if I still had my solo? And I borrowed a crafty/mighty for a week?

Yes I would still want to buy a crafty/mighty.
For me the portability of the crafty, the performance, usb micro recharge. Is all enough for me to want it.

If I couldn't buy it, I would still be happy with my solo.
Although it's a bit of a case of diminishing returns, the solo is undeniably better value for money but for the extra money for the S&B you are getting a little bit better performance and some nifty features.

Just got my mighty... I kind of wish the bowl was bigger .. It doesn't hold very much. Kind of regretting my decision to get it, because my solo can make clouds just as big (the solo just takes an extra minute or two to finish the session). I find with the mighty, I take 4 or 5 big draws.... Then the bowl is basically spent. It's better than the solo in certain areas, but for the price, get yourself a solo.

That's because it costs too much money for anyone to admit it. ............

The Mighty is a good vape. But, the question is, is it better than 3 Solos (the same cost)? In my humble opinion, I'd have to say "no". Still, for a VAS'er with disposable income, I'm not sorry I have it.
