@Zow, wow, please tell me what you just wrote, I am dazed and confused.

They are 78 USD....

Please, help me.

Give it time, prices plummet as the avalanche of new vaporizers supersede one another. Like snowflakes.

not sure what you dont understand

Massdrop barely beats Amazon and other sites on some items, and since you can buy a V5.0 on dhgate for about $60, including shipping, I can assure you the V8 will be available for under $100. It won't even be close.
The man on ebay stated that these will be msrp 199

Gulls, what gulls:cool:

You'd be better off if you ignore what hawk-ers try to make you believe, trying to get your USD.

€, £, etc.

And I'm sure he has no reason to pump up the retail price. The DaVinci sells for $200 too, but you can get it for $105 w/free shipping anytime from vaporseller.com or eBay, and for under $100 on dhgate. With some companies/products, MSRP is the actual price. Most products sell for less than retail, and that's certainly the case with Flowermate.

Sorry for your loss, Dude.

But that is an ancient vape today, you may want to jump in the bandwagon, and get a newer version before you date yourself...

I gave my advices, now it's your turn to use your brains...

PS: device is charging again, I lost count of how many empty burn-ins I did, but the smell is still present. I want to believe... :p
Im confused. I thought you were unable to use the device ?

@Mr. Gweilo 420 : well technically it works and produces vapor, it's just that I don't want to take any risk by inhaling glue fumes, knowing the problem will not be present in the next batch. I must be on my 3rd full charge worth of empty burn-ins now, and it's starting to dissipate, yet not enough to my liking (I'm rather sensitive)

I don't blame you... I do wonder now what devices will be coming from the MD batch. Would be nice if Smiss dropped by and could clarify. Can you mention to your guy about this threadgive your guy a

:rip:only hours left, to get your very own Frankenstein glue sniffing
device....

Psst, @Smiss: ( if you have a small thick glass (borosilicate) conduit tube from the "flower" chamber going up directly to the glass MP you may be able to market your revised FM 8, the FM "Pur" (pure glass path); even tweak it a bit by having the end mate with the male MP. Yes? )

avoid the cxt, avoid the glue, advoid the diminishing returns. advoid me.

my to Yuans, tank you

or, you can just di-Smiss me. Canned, again.

PS shrink the siZe, we need a portable, not bricks

So paying 3 times the price is worth it for a warranty where you likely have to pay about half the purchase price (for my buy anyway) just to return it? A 6 month guarantee doesn't come close to be being worth that much $ for me. I can buy 3 new ones and still pay less than the MSRP for one.

But that is an ancient vape today
As far as I'm concerned the FM is more or less a copy of the DV. Mine is still working after more than 2 years, and in some respects I still prefer it over the FM. Plenty of "ancient" vape models are still great vapes today.
shrink the siZe
I don't think they're gonna do that, but I'd also vote for a more pocket friendly size that also has digital 'dial a temp'.

Let's get off the beta model that's not intended to be used. Before you know it somebody will read a couple of the wrong posts and start spreading the word that production V8's are full of glue. They screwed up by sending out samples with glue in 'em, but that's not gonna be the case when this model starts shipping. They're not stupid.

Agreed! I would love for Smiss to come in and tell us what has changed since preproduction units. Amirite?

How reliable is the MD ship date of 12/13?

Is it pure conduction or also a little bit convection? So little informations out and only 10hours left to decide :(

Well I have one of these. I have now had it a couple of weeks and I must be lucky as I have had no 'glue' taste or smell from my v8.0. I only heated it for about 10 mins before first use. So it took a few goes before it really started to perform.
I don't have a great deal of experience with vaping, although I can say I've been impressed with it so far.
It feels good in your hand, it's not very heavy. Makes your herbs extra tasty imo. It heats up super quick and so far even at high temps (I know you shouldn't) it doesn't appear to combust, it just leaves dark green/brown AVB. I try to stick at 190-205c but unfortunately, I pressume due to the nicotine I'm still smoking alongside my vape.
As a portable vape, not sure I would want to carry it around in my pocket. But if I was carrying a bag I may take it with me.

No glue sniffing here, I can assure you of that

I got it off ebay, from a helpful guy in Edinburgh and paid £100 plus postage. I had just ordered the v5, and ended up cancelling that and 'up' buying to the v8.0 (same seller).

In answer to a previous question: I believe it's partial conduction (the ceramic bowl gets pretty hot) although when you breathe through it, the air travels past the heating element, giving an element of convection. That's just my unscientific opinion/observation.

I didn't realise you said "peanuts". Oops.
There were some similar complaints of off smells in the V5 thread, so I don't feel that one complaint, so far, is enough to be a concern (although I do not question the validity of that complaint and I appreciate the detailed information and review from KeroZen). That doesn't mean there won't be a problem but it does mean that there might not be a problem. I'm reserving judgement until I get mine and test it in a couple of weeks.

Just my 2 cents. With the exchange rate you can consider it really only my 1 cent.
