Hello everyone! My first post! :)

I'm wanting to order my first vaporizer, and I think this is the one.

Questions for magicflight:

1. Is puffitup.com a reputable vendor that sells LBs with serial numbers?

2. Is the newer version of the MFLB (one made of maple wood and no copper plating on the battery coil) available for purchase yet? If so, where can I find it? If not, how long of a wait until it is available?

:peace:

puff it up is reputable but so is blisssville! get it right from them!
i just got mine in the mail from them (discreet packaging) and i can confirm it is maple, no copper visable on it so i think youre all good to go

this is my new favorite toy, the learning curve was easy thanks to this thread and vaporpedia. all it takes is time, mild patience, and to not be an idiot and the reward is astounding. i like this thing most of all of all the vapes i have tried so far (zephyr, vapolution, no2)

i know there is no comparison when talking bag vs whip and so on, but this thing just rocks my friggin world

Thanks for the reply! I was curious about puffitup because it comes with a 4piece grinder and I found a coupon that brings the price down to ~$85. I wish blisssville also had a discount I could use, then I would use their website for sure.

Thank you, that is what I thought. Hopefully I will be able to refresh them with the new charger! does anyone know how long the refresh process takes? I think I heard somewhere up to 2 days or something?

Thanks! My batteries got SOOO weak after 6 months of use with the stock charger.
I'll let you guys know how it goes !

The C-9000 break-in for new batteries takes 36-40 hours. The refresh cycle takes about 18 hours or so.

Hello MFLB users!

I recently purchased a unit on Amazon that came with the old Tenergy batteries and only 1 mouthpiece, but with the battery recoil o-ring, so it must be a somewhat older unit.

Well...first few experiences have been AWESOME!!!!! Love it. Ordered some more batteries, which have yet to arrive. I can picture the rechargeable battery thing getting old...quick. So, with my amazing gift of forsight, I ordered a PA.

Now, onto my question:

The MFLB PA has been charged out of my bank account, but as of yet I have received no email confirmation of the transaction.

Did the same thing happen for you previous purchasers?

I haven't purchased one yet, but I recall reading on a previous page in this thread that no confirmation emails are sent and an email is sent only if there is a difficulty/problem with an order.

When I got mine there was a Click-N-Ship email from USPS. You'll probably get that soon.

So I'm just getting started with vaping (and really herb, for the most part) and I'm wondering what I'm getting myself into. I do have a couple questions for you...

I bought my MFLB through puffitup.com because they threw in a pretty killer looking 4 piece grinder, but I'm afraid it's still not grinding the pieces small enough. Is there a specific grinder or technique for getting the particles small enough? Also, what should the size of the vaping particles be?

I've seen a lot of commentary here about the MFLB, and everyone seems to think pretty highly of it. I've been trying it over the last couple of days and have to take something like 7-10 long hits to start feeling things, which makes me think I might be doing things wrong. Are there any specific draw techniques you guys have to share?

Thanks, ya'll. I'm just on the tip of the vaping iceberg and it seems super legit!

What do you mean by "break in"? Would I need to break in my new 2700 powerex batteries? Wouldn't I just charge them.

I think I know what the answer here will be, but there's no real way to tell what temp you're pulling off is there. I could be pulling off 180C or 250C. Under 200C and little toxins. Over 200C and we start inhaling some nasty stuff.

I wish I knew what 200C felt like when pulling off the vape wit the MFLB

teroblacknight, the weed needs to be ground very fine! Not quite dust, but maybe the fineness of ground pepper. Fine. In my opinion, the best grinder is the Mix n Ball Nano. It's tiny, like the one the MFLB comes with, but it has more teeth, and sharper teeth, and it grinds very fine. Once you've got a fine grind, the effects of the MLFB on the heating will rise sharply, and three or four hits ought to get you where you're going.

If you just charge them you will not get the most out of them. New batteries work best after a forming charge. Your C-9000 has a break-in mode for new batteries, a refresh mode for batteries that are starting to deteriorate, and a charging mode. Use them wisely.

There's the winning answer! Thank you. Just ordered one.

I'm sorry if these are stupid questions, I am a newbie and read and read. I would like to get a veterans opinion. I got my MFLB about 3 weeks ago and loving it. I recently started putting a very small amount in and it seems even stronger to me, am I nuts? I vape by myself and at 58 years old I wish I would have known about this years ago. My second question is about the battery life. I got the 2700 powerex, I see the light and I am still getting good hits, when should I recharge if it works? I kept reading about 10 hits, I can go for a day or two, is that normal? I do keep one fully charged in my pocket.

Thanx
Larry

I'm pulling thr triger on new batts and charger. Obviously the Powerex 2700s are the best available in the States. I figure the C-9000 is the best charger. Lwien previously shared this with me. Thanks again lwien.

I see this Amazon listing: http://www.amazon.com/PowerEX-Wizar...9MUG/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1298057449&sr=8-9

I have Amazon Prime free shipping, so the 4 batts and C-9000 are $70 delivered.

Is this the combo I should use? Any other suggestions?

Thanks! The more I use this MFLB the more I like it. I haven't used my poor iolites in weeks...

Same here. I actually fired mine up a week ago and stopped after I took my second draw. It was almost laughable.

^^ Yeah willie, that's a hair cheaper than going through ThomasDist unless you can add a bit more to your order there to get free shipping.

Can't go wrong with that combo.

Completely. Seriously, bigger loads normally provide bigger hits. With a small amount loaded, your hits should be thinner, since there's a lot less there to vaporize when you draw. The only thing I can think of, to account for your experience, is that a higher % of herb is getting sufficient heat, since there's only a small amount there. It's also possible that it only 'seems' stronger, for whatever reason, and really isn't. At any rate, it's not a bad problem to have.

I see the light and I am still getting good hits, when should I recharge if it works?
I've only had a new version, with the light, for a short while, and I don't usually 'use up' a bat in the LB, so I'm probably not the best person to answer that one, but as long as you're getting a light, you're good to go. It just takes a little longer to heat up, as the bat loses its charge. Whether your load is fresh or partially vaped makes a difference too. It may seem like your bat isn't putting out like it should, but if the herb in your trench is half vaped, or more, it's going to take a higher temp to finish it. The more you use it, the more you'll get used to the variables involved.

I kept reading about 10 hits, I can go for a day or two, is that normal?
IMO counting hits, for measuring anything, is a bad idea. Draw strength and speed varies too much from one person to the next, and often how much is loaded (not to mention what vape model you're using) can determine how big or long a hit is. Certainly a bat can last a day or two. It depends on how much you're using it during that time period.

lwien, thanks again, You are really quite a resource and always so free with the answers. I certainly appreciate it.

GreystrOke, curious if you found the taste resentful or what?

The taste in the Iolite was fine. The hits were just pathetic compared to what I'm able to get out of my MFLB.
