Athlete Vaporists?

Vaping while snowboarding was quite an experience when I was a snow bum for a season... it definitely DID make me a better rider because it relaxed me and put me more "into the zone".
Hey Biohacker,
How do you feel about riding with headphones on/in? A lot of my friends view it as their way to "get in the zone," but I feel it's a major safety hazard. Definitely a big risk at a resort on groomers. I've personally witnessed 5 collisions where the person getting nailed couldn't hear due to headphones/earbuds. Back country I say go for it, as the only hazard would be an Avalanche and it doesn't really matter if you hear it...you'll FEEL it coming!

Hey dude, there was nothing like fresh champagne pow and zoning out to your favourite tunes. The resort I was a bum at wasn't crazy busy, and I was always pretty aware of my surroundings. It definitely isnt safe, and sometimes honestly I loved it without tunes, just listening to the sounds of natures and ofcourse the orgasmic carving!

Funny thing, ever since I moved off of that mountain about a decade ago, I haven't touched a board. Part of the reason is because where I live now there are no mountains, but also due to injury. I am happy to say that i'm working toward freedom 45 and will be living near the mountains and shredding it up yet again!

Age means nothing!

Vaped myself to the planes of oblivion last night and then went hard on the dumbells for a bit more than 1 hour. Focused on forearms and core strength, and now doing leg extensions under the desk at work! The party continues.

So I got some of the Cannaplex pills from @SnidelyWhiplash (there is a thread) and so far the prelim results have been promising! I did achieve the runner's high about 1/2hr into taking 1, during my preworkout nap.... then some tingles, and i'm 17 days without vaping! Going to try it again tomorrow before my weights session, so if anyone is interested i'll report! If I keep getting this feeling i'm pretty sure i'll stock up and use these in my supplement arsenal!

The Cannaplex pills 100% work as they claim - super long lasting runner's high feeling. I've only experienced this from running naturally, and it doesn't last long. With 1 pill, I didn't notice much during my workout, although the workout was great and focussed, but now several hours later I still feel this constant runner's high all throughout my body, but not brain. Honestly, at this point I don't even think I like this feeling.

Getting pretty motived by Tee Major Fitness!

I can finally do the windshield wipers and working on the Lever!

Did some gymnastic basic training the while vapes. Helped me mentally focus on individual muscles, and it made something a lot easier.. I don't know how to explain what 'it' is..
That feeling when you feel the pain building and need to push yourself through it and litterally think in your head 'Keep going, one more! come on fucking do iitttttt'

The difficulty of that particular stage is reduced by being vaped.
It is seamless and easy, and the motivational effort you put into it comes from a more natural place and makes the 'burn' seem like a walk in the park!

At least that's the case for me, and i couldn't be happier

Stand up paddling is something that has really peaked my interest... I'm a huge fan of Primal Blueprint author Mark Sisson, and he's huge into SUP and is pretty fucking ripped for being 60.

Vaping while snowboarding makes me a pansy. I get considerably more cautious, especially in the trees. However I have more fun going less hard, so its probably good for my health.

I read Marks daily apple on occasion, TONS of great info there. I first found him from the p90x upsell supplement videos at the end haha.

I love bodybuilding and vaping. Been lifting 3-4 years pretty consistently. Sometimes I get too lazy cause of vaping. Between that and the stress of school work. As soon as I get to the gym lifting is easy but its a mind battle to actually get there. Biggest body building inspirations would be Zyzz or Arnold. Both of which were clearly on tons of sterons and shredded as fuck. I think zyzz's body is still attainable naturally(through hard work and years of lifting) and is a good goal to strive for.

Wow, i'm glad my post bumped up this thread - This is more my passion than vaping! (Bodybuilding, health, fitness, diet, etc). I know it's the Athlete Vaporist thread, and i'm still one, but i've been taking a nice break lately and i'm REALLY starting to rediscover this passion. I haven't workout out in a medicated state for a while, and my tolerance was so sky high before that I really didn't see much effect to doing it. I'm almost afraid to go back to it, and especially in the gym, because i'm quite sure my eyes would go super red and i've experienced negative effects to lifting while medicated in the past, in certain ways anyway - just like a physical lack of coordination....hamster wheel definitely a no-no for me.

@Deja Vu - couldn't agree with you more....i've said it before, but the focus and ability to go through the pain train and especially those last few reps and mind/body connection is awesome. This is truely the first year (i'm 39, started lifting semi-seriously at around 21-22) that i'm all about body weight exercises, since it's so much easier when you drop alot of body fat. I've been as heavy as 220 (mostly due to body fat), and as skinny as 165lbs in high school at a height of 6'2 1/2. I'm presently 175lbs at about 7-8% BF, and this is just recent due to a 5-7lbs drop in water due to my tolerance break which begin 3 weeks ago. Vaping makes me retain water big time! I typically hovered around 180-185 while binging on the vape, and now i'm finding 175-180 is where I like to be. I have found diet to be the biggest factor in staying lean and cut, and occasionally encorporating intermittent fasting, in the first part of the day. It's going to be a trip when I start vaping a bit again and hit the gym! But I don't want to gain a bunch of water weight again so have to keep an eye on the dose/frequency. Nothing like vaping and zoning out in nature on a hike too!

@BuzzDanklin - I know exactly what you mean. Again, individual tolerance plays a huge roll here, as do the snow conditions! lol When I lived at Big White Ski Resort for a season, those powder days you could do anything you wanted essentially and not get hurt, as long as you stayed away from the tree line. Man those were the days!

@vapien - hahaha, yep, you're right...best to take a portable and do a small sesh in the parking lot, i've missed so many workouts for that very reason! I also have a sweet ass home setup of a rack, bench, olympic bar/weights and dumbells so prefer to do those medicated sessions in the comfort of my own home, but it's happened more than once that I never got to the workout either due to getting over medicated, or lazy, or both!

Wow, never heard of Zyzz! Which blows me away....i'm on a huge bodybuilding binge now, and downloaded a shit tonne of movies/docu's... did he compete at all? I can assure you that his physique is completely attainable naturally though, he's really not that huge, and yeah arnold was on alot of steroids. I guess i'll have to start posting some selfies! Getting shredded as fuck is all about diet and being fat adapted. I'm LOVING Kiefer's Carb Backloading program and have been maintaining single digit body fat levels without any real effort. I love telling people that I don't do ANY direct ab work when they ask how I have visible abs, and that they are created in the kitchen. So I assume that Zyzz had a heart attack in the Sauna? I'll havta look that up.

If anyone is interested in Kiefer's Carb Nite or Carb Backloading programs, check out their respective websites, but for some reason the pdf's can be found for free by a quick google search. Body I/O is now officially my favourite podcast, this physicist knows his shit!!

I'm stoked to be around like minded people in this thread....after some head scratching posts i've been reading in some other threads I was almost ready to check out of this forum in general, save for a few vape specific threads.

Stay strong and lift on!

EDIT:

Wow, just read up on Zyzz on Wiki, and I take back what I first said on attaining that body naturally. He didn't look that huge to me in those pics, but at 6'2, 1/2" and 220lbs he's obviously bigger than I perceived, and although it stated he had a congenital heart defect, surely the roids had something to do with it. Sad, at such a young age!!! I don't judge because at his age I started to experiment with several anabolics, same thing - I was a skinny shit and a virgin and wanted to do anything to get big and get girls. Fortunately I did very short cycles and only a very few. Fuck my life that was a long time ago, but i'm hoping that some of the younger members reading here will take serious note. I would never fuck with my body chemistry ever again like that, but can see why it's so damn addicting. Sadly I can point out the juicers in my gym, and many are my age or even older, and I suppose just don't give a fuck about their health. I used to fake n' bake like crazy too, but would never consider that again either. I wish I had the knowledge I have now when I was 20! But appreciate what I know now, and what i've been through in the past to get here.

Gonna start watching some of Zyzz's youtube videos and look up his book. Trippy that his dad worked in Cardiology. Sounds like Zyzz lived for the day and had quite a good life, albeit short, at least he got to mack chicks especially by being a stripper! lol RIP brother, you are still being looked up to.

I'm an avid cyclist.. focusing mostly on mountain biking and endurance racing (8-24hr races). I vape daily, but did take a break and combusted for a good 2 months. The odd thing is that I can't say I noticed any differences in how I felt during a ride when I was combusting vs vaporizing.

Anyways, I'm a big fan of vaping/smoking after a long ride. I've tried doing it before a ride, but find it's a waste. Most, if not all rides in my area start out with pretty large climbs, and while I do notice it helps me focus on the climb, it's no more different than me putting a pair of headphones on. There's no scientific evidence to this, but I feel that if I vape before a ride the "high" is completely gone after an intense climb. I'm guessing this is similar to a "runner's high" and in this instance it seems to overpower the marijuana.

Sweet, another MTB'er on the forum! I don't do endurance rides, but love ripping it up in the trails! What do you ride? I have a Specialized Stumpjumper 29'er HardTail and love it! Just got it this past summer, but didn't get out on the trails as much as i'd like, mostly due to my wife having a bad spill taking her out for the season, and poor muddy trail conditions. Really looking forward to next season though, and tossed around the idea of picking up a Fat Tire Bike.

Wow, that's a nice arsenal! I'm just getting back into the sport after having to take a few seasons off due to herniated discs in my neck and resulting nerve damage. I wasn't able to ride without pain but am good to go now! I had a nice spill this summer, just being stupid and not paying attention and did a superman over the bars! I think my pre-ride vape sessions are done!

So my last bike was a Gary Fisher Tassahara HT 26'er lol Loved it, but i'm a tall rider and it was difficult making climbs....the 29'er makes such a huge difference! It also cost about $1k more though. Damn, now i'm starting to jonse to ride again! lol

@biohacker Pretty sure zyzz didn't compete and also I wish there were more videos of him. I believe all his videos were taken down when he died but I didn't know him predeath so idk if thats true.

If anyone is interested theres a really funny reality bodybuilding youtube show I have been following for a couple years that consists of Jason Genova "The Piss Lord, Man Getter, DSL, iron kunt...(too many nicknames to share)" Hes basically a delusional wannabe bodybuilder that has looked the same for the past 5 years or so. Its a really funny series if you get into it. The comments on the videos are all trolls and post crazy things all the time.

It's really retarded but entertaining "Enjoy the ment":

@vaplen - thank you so much for introducing me to the legend of Zyzz!!! I checked out a bunch of videos on youtube and my stoke just increased a million times!! This is nearly life changing for me as I re-immerse myself into bodybuilding and I can't stop watching all of these videos and tributes to this sick cunt!

I love this kind of motivation.....especially since i'm surrounded by much negativity in my job. HATERS are gonna HATE!

RIP Zyzz....you're a legend that lives on, and I thank the powers that you did what you did, and made your mark on this little planet! I can't wait to become a sick cunt too! :peace:

Nice! You can give an awesome present day bike to an amateur, and not be impressed. Give a dino to an experienced rider - and look out! It's just a tool!
