Has anyone used the finest screen in the mouthpiece of the unit? Everything good there?

Finest screen works great for filtering the extra fine grind of gabbage, didn't seem to impact the result or taste in any way. I use the Liquid pad the most and a pad cut in half ( You get two discs) works great too.

Can someone compare the battery life to the Firefly? I only get two full bowls from a FF battery, but it takes me 10-15 hits before I'm done with a bowl. I'm guessing the Crafty can finish those loads much faster, so I should be able to get more sessions per charge? Battery life is probably the most annoying thing about my FF, so I want to make sure the Crafty is at least somewhat better in that regard.

I get about 2 bowls per FF charge, too. With the Crafty I'm getting 4 to 6 per charge.

I read through this entire thread. Applause for all you vapor-wizards. You have made me 99.8% positive that I need Crafty in my life. However, I could use a little clarification on a topic that hasn't been discussed in much detail: SMELL STEALTH!!! :ninja:

I'm a vapor novice. My only experience is with a MFLB (no power adapter). Magic Mike is MIA so that's why I have my heart set on a Crafty.

From what I gather, the Crafty's vapor production is on par with most of the home vapes (unlike MFLB). I know a Crafty won't smell as bad as combustion because vapor dissipates faster than smoke... But how smelly is vaping dank (high-quality) bud through Crafty? I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to my apartment building neighbors.:tinfoil:

I want a Crafty either way... So what I'm really asking is: can I vape freely with Crafty or should I be cautious? (e.g. towel under the door, activated carbon sploof, open windows, etc.)

I plan on mostly vaping outside in-between classes (full-time college student) but it's getting quite chilly around these parts. I've read that Crafty + extreme cold weather = faster battery drain. I may even make a little jacket for Crafty! :p

Thanks for your time. Vape on!

Ok so just gave her whirl.

My first thoughts:

I've never seen such even ABV. Unbelievably even.

The loading tray system is brilliant. The chamber is just beautiful. I gawked at it for some time. It just looks top notch and wide open and receiving!

I took a few draws and man this thing is like an ever flowing stream of quality vapor. You may like this but I am very disappointed by how much vapor escapes through the mouthpiece. Unlike any portable Vape I've used. This is a real concern since stealth is of utmost concern (why I bought a portable!) the odor leak is ridiculous and it leaks for about 90 seconds as it cools down. If I could make a "lid" for the draw stem maybe that would work??

I ordered a Crafty today...super excited...starting the wait countdown!

While waiting, I would like to find the supplies needed for water tool (for hydration). I know this has been discussed before. However the recommended silicone hose (below) is out of stock:

http://www.vaporwarehouse.com/site/vaporbrothers-whip-hose-silicone.html

Can someone please confirm the ID and OD of the Vaporbrothers hose. I saw someone said a hose with OD 1/2"works, but can you please share ID since that is more important for a snug fit?

Thanks in advance

I think most of the vapor leakage your seeing is vapor that was already built up in the cooling chamber.

As far as smell, most odor is from exhaled vapor, which will be the same with any vape.

Naw man, what I saying is that it is unlike any vape I've used in that when I set it down the vapor leaks significantly out of the mouthpiece/stem. I'll try again and report back.

I just tried again and HOT DAMN the flavor and quality is thee best I've experienced with any portable!

Again, after a few puffs and put down massive amounts of vapor leaks from the mouthpiece for a long time. Don't like that.

Try blowing some cool air down into the mouthpiece right after your last draw. Then lay it down and see if it leaks out as much vapor.

Wow doing that caused VAPE to come out of other parts of the unit!! The flavor and quality is super impressive. I'm thinking this is awesome for peeps that like a full session but for a couple tokes here and there this thing allows too much precious medicine to the ether!

Next I'll try half a chamber with pad I'm betting that makes a difference

Just wanted to say, I haven't given the crafty the attention it deserves, but I'm about 6 bowls in.

I noticed that a decent draw seems to reset the auto off timer pretty well, contrary to feedback I've seen. I've only had to restart it once in all the 6 bowls (didn't have to press the button to keep it on, ) .

I noticed the following: Me and my friends take pretty big draws and after about 7 seconds of drawing (not sure on the exact time because I'm way too craft'd at the time) but the led becomes red and then starts heating up again and a few seconds later becomes green again as it reaches temp again.
This kept it on the whole time we were using it.

I noticed that the outside air was cool when we were using it and that seemed to drop the temp quicker as the red led might have come on quicker (registering the draw).
The only time it went off, was indoors where there was a noticeably warmer ambient temperature.

I will have confirm with further testing... **sigh** if I have to!
#firstworldproblems

Edit: forgot to give you guys an update... Plastic taste went very very quickly... I don't know if it was the dry runs or using it a second time but it's completely gone (not that it was that bad to start). So damn good. I love this vape more and more every day.... I think I'm in love

Don't blow into it. Most of what is leaking out is in the cooling chamber when you quit drawing. You can probably take the cap off and draw on it and get a little puff.

Putting my thumb over it in between draws helps a bit. Another thought is instead of 2 large draws turn off and see tons of lost vape I'll also try a micro sip, turn off and continue with enough micro hits to equal the total number of draws I desire. Maybe that will clear vapor from the cooling chamber.

Some folks who do EQ bags use tapered foam earplugs to keep the vapor from escaping between hits. They should work for the Crafty too, they're very compressible.

I don't know, the mouth piece on the crafty is quite unique. It's acutely elliptical (not a circle). Foam earplugs won't really fit into it well IMHO.

Edit: ok I take that back... I just got some and tried I out... So long as you pre-mould them into an elliptical shape prior to inserting, they work fine!... Nice spot @Nesta
Although I won't be doing it, there isn't enough vapor leak to concern me at all (barely any at all that I've noticed).

Holly crap @t-dub !!! I clean my daily so they only ever have a stickiness and visible "shine" to them from a light layer of resin ...
I'm sorry but you have me at a loss as to what you are referring to. If its the above pic I believe it belongs to @darkrom and it shows a lot of material up there which makes me think his grind is too fine. I use the stock, coarse, screen and my SCS and I don't get anything like that up there at all. Just a tiny amount of light brown dust in the intake section.

This is what mine looks like . . .

Big clouds of dank are going to be stank, a fact you could take to the bank
You can turn down the heat, ghost till your beat, a sploof works a treat.

You can turn off the light, vape all night, your shit will be tight.
fiddle with your phone, Crafty's a drone, target's your head bone.

got too crafted, shit got shafted. Mind got drafted.
