Discontinued Elevape SV

I still really like my ESV, especially at work. I think it might just be the on demand part about it that I like and wish more would use the same.

However, I've ran into a problem. It still works fine I've just had to lower my temps although I don't know how long I'll be able to keep lowering them since I'm getting close to the lowest I can set it.

I gave it a real good cleaning since it was running hot and it didn't help much, I even took the coil off so I could iso the sensor and give that a good cleaning and that's when I noticed it. Little particles that had stuck to the bottom of the sensor. I tried using a dentix and shaped it into a J to get to it and it worked a little but I wasn't able to apply enough pressure to get it good. At some point it looks like I will either have to send it in or ask Joe if I can take the center screw out of the battery module so I can clean it.

The new lid that can stir will be HUGH imo since I will be able to stir it with the lid facing the ground, very very few particles should make it through to the sensor area this way.

edit: I wish that big opening at the coil was sealed off and the air came from somewhere else, somewhere that was %100 accessible.

@Vegas haze a solution for you might be a smaller coil. I told joe about my same temp issues and he said they also make smaller coils for lower temps so hes sendin a couple for free. Email or call support.they are always helpful. Ive never had a problem the sensor. I def dont touch it with iso but I can see how thats ok idk. Good luck

Interesting about the small coil! Going to have to ask Joe about one of those too. I wonder if my coil could use replacing too, everything works but i dono. I wouldnt know how to replace the coil though?

I've used a little ISO dampened qtip over the sensor and that area with no problems. Just be mindful of the coil like you would when brushing

Also @DormVapin you are so right about stirring while walking and driving, very ill advised but such a necessary evil with the Elevape at the moment. I'm sure the new mechanism will put the Elevape back into heavier rotation for me

@Shit Snacks thanks for the info regarding the sensor. The coil is simple to replace just unscrew both screw that go into the posts with a flat head. Then carefully lift the coil with the screw driver and it will slide right out of the posts. If you have any experience with rebuildable ecig atomizers, this is 10 times easier.

This doesn't solve my problem of being able to clean the part of the sensor that I can't reach. Little particles fall into that big opening and then some must get swirled around when you take a puff instead of just going with the air flow. I'm sure the smaller coil would help delay the cleaning/sending it back but that's not really what I'm looking for.

Unscrew the middle screw its not a big deal ...just dont spill water on it and ull be fine. Its like one big computer chip with a lil battery pack. Theres no adhesive or anything so It doesnt matter.

I've been tempted to do that but I thought taking that screw out voided the warranty, maybe I'm wrong I just thought I read that somewhere.

I am quite intrigued by the smaller coil as well, please let us know what you think once you have them. I have had a few random instances of combustion where I was using the same heat settings, same draw speed, no changes at all, so I think the smaller coil may be in my future.

I find that when the sensor on my ESV is dirty, combustion can occur unpredictably. To help keep it clean I use a small flat brush to clean it up. Use the same brush to clean up the lid and bowl when reloading and a cut down Starbuck stirrer to stir.

@Vegas haze do what you want but im an engineering student It was too tempting :-) if its just particles ur worried about then take out the screw and clean it . If its something technical dont bother. Send it in and joe will have it in the mail the same day he gets it. If joe says u cant take the screw out to clean well then thats some shit haha.

@DormVapin how is the taste of the elevape sv compared to pax... (also how much good tasting draws do you get from the elevape sv vs pax)

and do someone own an elevape sv and crafty and compare them...

Elevape is far better tasing. Convection is competely different you get huge clouds and barely feel anything in your throat, but awesome taste.pax still tastes very good but makes me cough.

The rate of change in terms of flavor completely depends on the load sizes of each. I can pack my pax full and get tons of tasty hits.like 13 prob. The elevape has a way smaller bowl but with it fully packed maybe 5 but I care more about vapor quality then flavor. You shouldnt be choosing between these two just because flavor is a concern. They are completely different vaporizers. If u can only vape when u have a couple seconds during the day and u like finicking with stuff the elevape wins all day. But if u like session vapes which I def do on occasion then the pax is cool prob not the best tho. The haze looks dope.

Damn didnt even no the crafty was a thing. Looks awesome. Its a session vape Like a perfected haze but the mouthpiece seems kinda weird. Wudnt vaping like that look weird? Idk im sure it produces insane vapor

Edit: holy shit the crafty is crazy. @scottg402 im sooo jealous.if I had $400 to drop that would def be the vape I wud buy. Fuck the herbalizer or evo I want that. That being said very happy I own an elevape it serves a completely different purpose.

I post too much on this forum but i do so much hw on this computer and this is a perfect procrastination tool haha. I just wanted to say after watchin vape critics video on the crafty that it's kinda funny how serious we get into our vaporizers when most people i no just settle for bowls and think bongs are amazing. I'm so glad i was born when they figured all this cool shit out. Like stoners 50 years ago dont even no what being this baked feels like. I bought my dream bong like 3 years ago for 600 bucks and smoked one hitters all day every day and thought it was the shit. But you get so use to it and your tolerance when smoking shoots up like crazy. Also the times when id get a gross resony hit. i cant even think about doing that anymore. Id sleep good but wake up tired as shit and have cotton mouth worse than i already do with vaping which isnt cool haha. I remember when i thought using hemp wick and a bong was the purest way to get high haha. Idk where im getting at but i guess im just saying its so crazy were technology has taken us and im so glad im in mechanical engineering because if you don't like designing shit like this then idk what the deal is haha. the fact that theres even this forum on vaporizers is crazy to think about. Like this shit will go down in history. I cant wait till im and old fart using a device that gets 126% of the thc out of my glow in the dark super lettuce.

Glad to gear you're taking the plunge on the Elevape @scottg402 , looking forward to your thoughts on it! (And congrats on the Crafty as well! I gotta get back over to that thread but it fills up so fast!)

The stirring lid sounds great, hope it works. Seems like it would be tricky to introduce a stirring mechanism that would not be effected by the heat and in turn create conduction. They seem to be pretty smart over at ipuff so I'm sure they can pull it off. I stir ever three draws which is the extent of a session for me so it works well with my tolerance. But never having to take off the lid till it's cashed would be the icing on the cake.

Charged? New program? Check your coil

Draw slow

Take off the top part and blow through the charger. Sew if the coil glows or not. Make sure non of the coils are touching

I'll try to do this when I get home.. I haven't taken it apart at all.
It is charged and sometimes I can taste the herb but no visible vapor, and when I do see a little bit it's not enough. barely any
