Hey everyone I was directed to this thread on another board about inquiring about the MFLB and so far the info I seen so far is very good however I do have a couple of questions. I currently have the MFLB and the stock batteries and charger. I ordered a set of 2700mah batteries and the c-9000 charger and they are on the way however I am curious about if the hit I will get from the 2700mah batteries will be a lot better? I tried to look through the post before I answered and I found a lot of info about the different types of batteries but little about the quality of the hits.

My friend has a iolite and I feel that I get better consistant hits from it then the MFLB but I do feel I get better and bigger hits from the MFLB. Now with all of that said my questions are...

Will the better batteries provide the same big hits I get from the stock batteries more consistantly? Or will I get the same quality of hits but the battery will last longer? What I hope to achieve is to have good hits consistantly instead of 3 good hits then the reest okay quality hits that I have seen from the battery.

Also to those who have the power adapter do you guys feel that the adapter is worth getting now assuming there will be a final production model? I dont care about the costs of the adapter it is more of a issue to me if the production adapter will end up being a lot better than the beta model. So I guess the question is do you guys feel the power adapters are closer to a beta item? Or do you feel it is closer to production?

Sorry for the long essay but I really do enjoy this vape so far and once I find some answers to these minor problems everything will be perfect!

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you will get better hits with the 2700's. You can take bigger rips faster, and go through more than just one trench if you choose. They do, however lose power as you take more hits, just like all batteries.

The beta unit is just that.....rough around the edges, but functions excepcionally well and worth the price imo.

Just got the PA today...this thing is the bomb :D...the LB has completely changed my life because of the portability but the batteries were becoming a pain in the azz. Now with the PA and the car adapter...i am good to go! I will review more in depth later but the PA is more than worth the money! The Dogg

I already post a message here, but with no clear answer so I try one more time.
It's about the plexi cover :
On wikipedia PMMA (acrylic) melting point is 160 C and boiling point 200C.
The screen goes to 180-200 C.
What do you think about?
Do you want to inhale some toxic gaz?
What about a pyrex (robust glass) to replace the plexi one?
I already write to magic box but didn't receive any answer.
This vape looks so healthcare; I would like to have the choice to buy a pyrex cover instead of that acrylic one.

Touch your plexiglass cover after a full trench... It won't approach those temps unless you have a fire in there!

The Plexiglass cover doesn't even get warm, it is not near a heat source and not a problem at all IMHO.

I agree, I cannot not feel any heat on the cover. The way I hold the box, I am constantly contacting the cover while in use.

That said, I'd like a glass cover. That would be very cool. How would it be replaced when, not if, I break it? Could the broken glass possibly damage the screen? Could it break in a pocket? Could it break on a mouse?

Ya the plastic concern is not a worry. Also you know a glass cover would make the box more expensive and the glass would break constantly and even a crack in the glass would make you lose alot of vapor....not worth it in my opinion

I'd like a wooden cover, with acrylic only over the trench. Like a little peep-hole.

The only glass i want is a glass stem. Would feel/look so much nicer and be easier to clean and re-claim resin.

This might seem like a silly question but is the heat source the light or is it the wires along the trench acting like toaster coils? :uhoh:

Bluntcrush,

Blaaaaah
the light is just there for a visual reference point so you can see the vapor forming, and to gauge how much life your battery has. The heating element is the wires that run along side the trench.

Yeah definitely the plexiglass cover is NOT an issue at all. I continuously hit my MFLB and my battery gets scorching, but the cover, not even warm! it is great. This is the safest vape, IMHO

About 40 pages back it was mentioned that Magic Flight would be announcing exotic wood MFLBs in January.

Does anyone know when they will be available or when the announcement of their availability will be made?
(I am vacillating on whether or not to purchase a MLFB now or wait for the exotic woods.)

I anxiously await your reply & thanks in advance.

I recently bought new batteries, Duracell NiMH 2450 mAh, for my launch box. Last night I was hitting it though a water pipe letting it heat up for 5 seconds and then drawing though. About 15 seconds since I inserted the battery i noticed smoke coming from the intake and realized the load was on fire. I quickly opened it up and dumped it out but was hella surprised to see what looked like a cheried bowl pack in my vape :(

Now the mesh screen (from the conductors down) is discolored (charred?) and the box smells a little wonky. After a mild cleaning it hits alright but it has a subtle burnt taste to it nw.

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this and for any advice on how to repair overheating the launch box? Also i know the screen is made from stainless steel but is it still good to hit though if its charred?

Obviously these new batteries dont fuck around and I should start drawing immediately. (my old batteries required at least 5 sec heat up time)

After 3 trenches the burnt taste should go away. The screen will probably remain slightly discoloured, but u could try cleaning it with ISO and a qtip.

To my knowledge, you can custom order them at any time. Email them about it.

For cleaning, the most important tip is to be gentle AND thorough.
You can use the brush supplied with the LB, and put just a drop or two of iso alcohol onto the brush and clean out the trench.
After that just be sure to let it sit out openly, with the cover off to allow more air circulation around the trench.

All you can do after a cleaning is be extra cautious to prevent future problems.

Combustion(or coming close to it) with the Box is caused by either
A) Pulling too slow
or
B) Waiting too long to start your hit after the battery has made contact.

c) not flipping trench :)

This is bad ha, when I get too high I draw even SLOWER on my MFLB and end up torching my trench when I actually see it the next morning ha. Plus being sick I can't really taste anything... Oh geeez, enjoying my MFLB too much ;)

I haven't combusted since I start shaking it up after every hit, so yeah, I think C is overlooked a lot.

Also for new users, I thought I could describe how to hit the mflb properly (as opposed to the "sip through a straw" style suggestion). What I do when using the stem is to heat the unit up until there is visible vapor about halfway down the stem, then rest the stem between my lips (not forming a seal), and then just inhaling with your lungs (as opposed to sucking with your mouth). This will prevent you from sucking too hard and cooling the box off to the point of it not making proper vapor. I also read that if you let the vapor sit in your throat, which likely happens when you "suck" on it, that the vapor either (someone chime in and get this right) absorbs in your throat or becomes inactive or something... :2c: :2c: :2c:
