Discontinued Inhalater INH05/5S/6

@Cannibal This may be a ruptured heater lead. Frequent cause is drop of unit. We are considering a QA drop test to bring down risk of failure in the hands of customers. Or a broken conductor on the ribon cable. Frequent cause is tentative battery change.

But I like it!
Cannibal - I had a similar issue. My new and improved one should be back early this week.

Inhalater - with another "technological breakthrough" will we need to send them back for another upgrade?

Back in a bit. Me and the NO2 are taking the dog for a walk :)

Yes your unit's heater weld has been made extra strong.
The 21 watt Inhalater 05 is made by modifying the current configuration. Upgrade is a possibility. We named this unit the Inhalater INH05 S

I dont know what a conductor on the ribbon looks like but the ribbon looks fine. I never dropped the unit. I have been smoking through glass pipes for years and must continue to do so today. As one might surmise...when glass is dropped it breaks. My glass piece cost 70 dollars. My inhalater cost over 3x that amount. I am well practiced in being able to hold onto things and not drop them.

It must be something else. Need to check it live. Any case we will fix it.

I remember reading a year or so go how units were tested by being plugged in and charged up to see if any problems arised. I think there was a picture. I also remember something about being tested warming up with some kind of mint in the capsule. Are things like this still done?

When I received my unit it did not need to be charged too long before the light turned off. I used once for two capsules and then plugged it in at 10pm. I didnt unplug it until 7pm the next day. I used it for 2.1 more capsules (20 minutes running time) letting it cool down between uses. On the beginning of the third time the light started flashing slowly and stopped heating. Since then it has not worked and still exhibts flashing light. I hope this may help you in knowing what may be happening.

sorry for double post im typing this from a console

I do not use the Lid/Cap on the bottom at all. The idea does not appeal to me....
I feel my knob move like I am prying it off.
I am talking strickly about using the cap as a lid on the top of unit... to protect my capsule and meds.
@Cannibal Yes we think the same. Please contact us directly here admin@inhalater.com.

@Vitolo The cap has 2 small tabs for it to transmit motion when installed on the knob. When inserting the cap, these tabs must align with cavities in the mating body. Loud click sand small hold may be a symptom of imperfect alignment.

Alignment is operated by 7.5 degree of rotation in one direction or the other while maintaining a light pressure to feel the perfect spot. Once the cap is deformed, ideal solution is to get another one.
The cap does not appear deformed. It is new.
No matter how I put it or try to click it in position, it comes off without a click or pulling at all.
The Cap fits snugly on the bottom dial, but that is not what a cap/lid is for. It is meant to protect and to remain securely on the top.

I do love using the unit.
It gives a great quality Vapor, and is most discreet, and easy to use and clean.

EDIT:
After writing the post I spent time fiddling with the top.
I did find something!
I found a position that seems to hold better than any other.
It is a difficult position to locate, and it takes a number of tries, but once it is there, the top stays on securely enough to pocket.

The cap (lid) of my 05 does not click on securely, and will click on audibly, but will fall off at a touch.
I lost the meds in my pocket each of 3 times I carried the 05 unit with me.
Of course when I leave the house already using the unit in hand there is not an issue.

The XP lid stays on firmly.
At least for the time being, the XP will continue it's travels with me daily, while I figure out if there is a way to secure the cap of the 05 more snugly

Has anyone else noticed the cap being less secure?
I wish to learn if this is the cap itself that may be a singular faulty cap, or if this is the case with all units.
I am having the same issue it is really loose when on the top but seems to click onto the bottom perfectly.

@Cannibal Another frequent cause for the described behavior is voltage leak into thermal sensor. This may be caused by erroneous placement of sensor leads or circuit oxidation from ISO alcohol cleaning at assembly.

@Vitolo and @VapeNStone . Cap and knob are adjusted one by one at factory. The way it is done is using a heat gun and cone to stretch the diameter of the rim. Then cycle heat to gradually to shrink it to the perfect size.

Getting a new cap to specification may resolve the issue. We will warranty this component for you

I too remember something way in the past about mint or clove oil needing to be cooked off before use but Inhalater has come out and stated very clearly that process was not needed with this design and they went on to say that if you really want to have a "cook off" it really shouldn't be done with an empty capsule and that we should at the very least use some old ABV while doing so.....

From reading your above post I too feel your issue is one of connectivity.... I too have had to deal with connectivity issues.... I do believe while it is flashing externally it is internally running self checks..... if the flashing were to ending rather quickly... I suspect that to mean that the connection to the heating element leads are compromised in some way..... however if the flashes are lasing awhile before giving up.... I suspect that to mean it in the sensor leads possibly....

My beta unit behaved in the very same fashion but it took quite a bit longer and it began to happen slowly over time.....something I found or noticed that helped to temporarily fix it was to push down or depress a capsule a little harder that usual..... I would simply apply a little pressure and notice the flashing would glitch a bit then restart and sometimes start working normally again......

The unfortunate reality is that you will likely have to return the unit to repair either of these conditions...... good luck and not to worry..... the customer response team has caught up on their backlog and recent reports have been favorable.... they will take care of you....

Even if you do get it to work again like mine was....it eventually stayed broken until repaired properly.........:peace:

@Vitolo my cap is like yours and I lost a load once too. I'll look to see if I can find that sweet spot.
I have not been able to twist the cap into the snug spot I spoke of.
It seems I must just land on it as I push it in place.
The cap is a minor thing.
I am loving the unit's function.

@SiDankies INH05 S is still in the testing phase. It has all the latest QA and is very stable but still is a Beta. Unit is more expensive to produce than the 05. Would you care to experience with the most advanced technology and keep us posted here?

@Vitolo Thanks for trying :-) we will get you a one to spec.

Yes absolutely, I'm a daily posted so that wouldn't be a problem. What are the main differences though?

75% additional heating power. Heating time is reduced by 38% - Nearly cut in half.
Power transistor and power line are doubled to handle the amps.
Operation LED has been cut in half for comfort on the eyes.
Distinctive color

In operation the unit just feel friendlier. There is more staying power so inhalations are fuller.

And what is the success rate? Should i expect it to fail or do you think it will run good?

Feel very good about this one. QA list is exhaustive.

It is expected to run perfectly

Ideally, use Inhalater car charger adapter to avoid any decalibration risk.
