I dont use those personally but the kanger with ti is what my buddy swears by
i actually have the kanger but its for 510 thread. They are just ok. Trying to downsize my vaping toys, meaning im going to sell my ejuice setup(itaste mvp 2.0 with iclear 30s) and just get tank for my persei. Less stuff to carry around. Im on the verge of needing a fanny pouch

I think I better send the top in first and keep the core in nyc till i get the top back n then send the core ..
i still have my hammer top I can use in meantime ---
then I gotta get serious with batteries somehow while I send the core in ---
I will miss the core more than anything !

I tried the protank.... quite frankly I hated it (it leaked, the 3 TI coils I bought tasted awful right off the bat..., the flavor and vapor were not nearly the quality of other cheap tanks I have owned, and I had people accusing me of buying cheap kangertech chinaclones because it didn't have an authentic kangertech logo LOL....) and have since consigned myself to the fact that a good ejuice cart is not possible for the persei and went and bought a plume veil RDA + mech mod, the persei will never ever be able to produce clouds or taste like that combo except with maybe adapters and a core heh....
EDIT: Just for the record I think the problems lie within the Protank design itself, it is a poor setup, no airflow control and poor engineering on the way things seal up the tank/let juice flow

Actually the Persei can produce monster clouds. Bigger than any Mech mod. Initially this vape is designed for oil carts. The 601 thread is the obstacle. The 8 fixes that. U can run a RDA to 11v if you brave enough.

Yeah I'm sure the 8 would do just fine for making nice ejuice clouds as it's fully mechanical but from my understanding the Persei is a modulated circuit therefore it cannot produce the raw energy that a mech mod or the like would produce, makes it nice and safe for the herc and such I reckon but limits it's usefullness for clouds

In search of the best terps and smoothest vapor
Just had my first session with the Core, Persei, Hercules setup along with a water piece, GBD Assassins Necktie. Wow. Cloudage, flavor, couldn't be happier. I'm also having great luck and no leaking with some CO2 oil. I've been obsessive about the cool down hits, so I've had no reclaim to deal with. Just thought I'd say thanks to everyone for the tips. I feel like I've got things really dialed in now, and I understand why everyone loves their Herc/Persei setup. 
I can't wait to add an 8 to the mix.

Any word on when the Sr74s are going to be back in stock? Or should I go with an Sr71? I have an older persei. So probably no circuit protection. Do I need to buy a hammer top?

You don't have to buy a hammer, but it helps a ton and makes the experience easier.

Imo. U are better off with the sr71 with the v1 top no voltage restrictions and no blinking lights. Treat yourself and buy a core there on sale then run your sr71 at 6v pure heaven. I feel sorry everyone having probs with newer tops and sr74. I'm still rocking the old school way v1-sr71
Be carefull with th hammer tops sr or reg tops u burn oil quick.
Know your sr71 inside and out dont fry your top!!!

I just want to put it out there that if people do in fact decide to stay with a v1 top and SR-71 combo, there is a HUGE possibility that they will eventually blow their v1 top if there's even the slightest mistake in the assembly of the 71. The Herc wasn't even a thought when the first tops were created so be very careful when assembling your SR-71 if you want to hold onto that v1 top!

It compreses the spring to much and it might not work in the case of a short but a lot of people do it
