Discontinued Indica Vaporizer

Sadly, it's the first I've heard of it too. My guess would be that it died while charging, but that's just conjecture. I used it last night, plugged it in before I went to bed, unplugged it when I woke up. Then I went to work, came home, cleaned it, loaded it, and turned it on. The lights work the same as before, but the Noir just didn't heat up. Tried it multipled times. Tried while plugged in. Nothing no matter what I tried.

Perhaps it was leaving it plugged in over night? I've heard of that lowering battery life, but the battery still holds a charge. Not sure if it could harm the heating element. Nothing saying not to do this in the manual and the first charge is supposed to be for 12 hours, so I wouldn't guess this.

Writing this out, I am reminded of one oddity with my device that I have had since it arrived. The manual says it should blink twice when changing colors, three times if it is charging, and 10 times if it needs a charge. Ever since I first turned it on, it would blink 6 times when turning on or when charging. Never had it so close to being dead that it blinked 10 times or more. Every time I change the temperature, it would blink 3 times instead of 2. I'm not sure if this is just an unmarked change that the manual isn't updated for (pics still show metal mouthpiece indicating earlier version), an indicator of a problem, or just some weird glitch with my phone that's unrelated.

Totally unrelated, the white box with the box art and slogans on the side that the wooden box comes in was assembled inside-out.

Ratchett's funnel works great. You should see the glow in the dark one under black light. Makes it easy to find on the floor after you have dropped it.

I know! This material glows brighter than any other GITD material I've bought before - I've made a few stands with it - holy shit they glow bright. I'll need to get some pictures for the etsy store

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, but a long time follower of this thread. I've been enjoying the indica vaporizer basically since it came out, and find it to be both efficient and very well built. It has been a formidable companion to my solo until a few days ago. I seem to have encountered the same problem as a few other early adopters have. The indica no longer heats up at any temperature even though the battery is fully charged and showing all lights. Before all of this I heard a loud buzzing sound coming from the bottom of the unit on my last trench. I guess my question is can I troubleshoot this problem or is my unit dead? Any help is appreciated, Thank You all!

Hi Forum,

I'm headed to work at the factory overseas next week and plan to address any and all concerns mentioned on and off the forum to date. If you think that an issue has not been covered that bothers you with your Noir or the early model Indicas, PLEASE PM me, and let me know.

Now regarding the reversed white box, ahh, this is a story of it's own. Originally, the printed box #500 with intended for the retail trade and point of purchase presentation. Given that volume has been predominantly to direct sales and I had over produced the printed material, there was a need to consume this product to balance the inventory. The graphics on the upcoming # 400s will be similar to that of the #500s but this next overseas travel will determine when it'll become available.

I had promised the Black "Noir" to be available as close to October 16th as possible. By taking this reverses box liberty, we met the deadline. Please let me know if any of you found this white box to be offensive vs mildly confusing. If offensive, we'll go to print at once. Either way, we should progress to the the new box with in the next 30 to 45 days on the outside.

So I'm starting to notice an issue with my indica. The button is getting sticky. Anyone experience this or know how to fix?

I gave my reversed box to my origami-enthusiast girlfriend and she had it the right way around in seconds. Not offensive at all, just mildly confusing. :)

My button has been sticking very occasionally. Not sure how to fix it though.

Is this due to external influence maybe? Like when you were younger and happily played with toys while grubby fingered and they got sticky?

Just wondering if you have exceptional herb which is clogging on your fingers lol. Also mike would you know if the circuitry would be safe if we were to rub a iso dipped cotton bud over the button?

I don't think the circuitry would be in any danger. I'd be more concerned about the plastic used for the button. The Pax infamously is intolerant of ISO on its temperature button, apparently even in small quantities. I'm not sure how small since I've always been careful never to get any ISO on it.

For what it's worth, I did an experiment with one of the early Indica beta units. I rubbed the button with a Q-tip soaked in ISO, then wiped it dry after a few seconds. It suffered no bad effects, so I'd say that as long as you don't apply a lot of ISO or leave it there for long, your Indica can take it. I don't believe the material used for the button has changed.

Hah! You're the second portable vaporizer manufacturer to declare they are going to China. (The Davinci guy has moved to china to manage the entire factory they own). Good luck!

The boxes were confusing, but I rightly assumed you simply had excessive quantity of the boxes to go through. I'd say keep folding them inside out and run out of stock - no sense in killing a few more trees to print new cardboard boxes with plenty old ones in stock!

----

I've been playing with casting the Silicone WPAs all weekend long (Making SonG's for the Firefly, Indica, and Herbalizer vaporizers all at the same time!). I was hopeful I could inject straight silicone into the molds without mixing corn starch (it's a PITA to mix). Sadly it seems the starch is critical in casting with silicone. Cuts the curing time from over a week down to several hours!

I'm experimenting with a modified flavor-injector (for cooking) to see if I can mix and then inject into the mold to produce a higher quality finished product.

These SonG's are great though - flexible, stretchable, and no negative reaction to ISO or PBW!

I even discovered the SonG are flexible enough, you can easily use the same 14mm WPA for both male and female fittings! (Haven't tried an 18mm male yet, might need to make the vapor path a bit larger to accommodate).

I know you guys are waiting for this part, I'm hard at work finalizing the design - this morning before work I vapor polished a bunch of molds so they have time to set before I start casting tonight!

Thanks all for your interest in these parts! I'm very excited to bring these products to market!

No it's not due to me touching the button with dirty hands. It also looks like a couple other people are having this issue.

I did think about putting iso on the button, but I don't want to risk damaging the unit. Also I'm not sure it would help since you can't really get in there to clean it. I feel like the ISO would just evaporate and leave the residue in there.

I've had a sticky button as well. Its not sticky like dirty, but like it somehow hooks underneath the top surface and won't return to the unpressed state. Not bad enough to want to send the unit back but it does seem to be a mild issue.

Otherwise still digging this thing. Blue is really tasty and the overall form factor is great. Where have you been all my life?

Hold the unit upside down when swabbing the button with a damp Qtip so no excess ISO gets into the unit. Then roll the button around clockwise and counter clockwise for like a minute still holding the unit upside down. This has helped out many people with the sticky button issue.

Hello all, longtime lurker here on FC. I just got my Indica last week and I love it. It is my second portable vape after a firewood and while I loved that little guy, the battery quit on me. I had some questions that I thought you folks could help me with. First of all, is it bad to leave it plugged in for a while after it finishes charging? I don't know a lot about the life of batteries. I feel like this may have been a contributing factor to the decline of my Firewood 1.

Second, I realized I forgot to send in my warranty card. It hasn't quite been 14 days but I'm worried that at this point it will get there too late. Is this an issue? Will my warranty be void if I don't? I still have the sticker from the plastic bag that it says to attach.
Third question is about cleaning. The bottom corners of the oven are difficult to get at with the supplied brush. Anyone have some tips on how to get in there better? Thanks for you help!

Don't know about the Indica specifically, but it generally is best to unplug after charging finishes.

The pick can help clean the corners. I will see some material get stuck in the corners. After several oven loads, I do an ISO clean with pipe cleaners and a q tip. Then it comes 100% clean.

I figured out, at least on my unit, how to manage the sticky button.

There is a tiny bit of slop between the LED button and the hole it emerges from. Pushing the button in one specific direction causes it to jam.

With the hinge on the left, pushing the button slightly forward while down will make it jam quite predictably. Pushing in the other three directions seems fine.

I realize that one should be pressing as vertically as possible, but in the real world, this thing gets stuck.

Anyway, hope this helps anyone else with a "sticky" button. Just focus on pushing the button straight down, and it seems to work fine.

@g0atspank, Just PM Indica vaporizers and tell Mike. I'm sure he already read your post.
Indica prides themselves in fantastic customer relations and service.
I don't see this being an issue my friend.
Just send the warranty in tomorrow.

Awesome, thanks for your help. Another question that came up, where is the product model number? I have a serial on the bottom of the unit and the only other number I can think of would be the one on the sticker that I've already attached to the warranty card, neither of which fit into the digit boxes on the first line of the warranty card. This would be so much easier if it was an online registration! If you couldn't tell, I'm rather paranoid about the warranty being correct in case my unit has some issues!

Look on the bottom of the cardboard box your Indica came in. It should have a sticker there similar to the one you sent in.
The number on your unit coincides with the sticker. That is your "serial" number. The extra numbers help tell when the unit was produced.

:ugh::uhoh: That sucks! I hope my Noir doesn't die on me! I use my baby at least once a day (More now that I'm back to the gym - nothing like a post workout short session before heading home!)

I've be hard at work on these Silcione WaterPipe Adapters. My home made injection molding process is producing better quality SonG's (some bubbles require touchups, but the structural integrity overall of the finished part has improved greatly). Just cast this morning what I hope is the finished 14mm WPA - REALLY can't wait to use my Indica with the PNWT.
