Yep, pretty normal. Being hand made they all vary some, many are a bit out of round as well it seems. No big deal as long as they get past the seal OK. Factory stems vary too for the same reason I bet.

My advice is to get to enjoying it......you've either waited a long time for one or are very lucky and should press on to see how long that luck holds out?

Hello to the board. I just created an account after spending several weeks researching on FC. After being a long time combustionist, Id like to make the move over to vapor. After reading about many of the different portables available on the market, I think the clear choice for my purposes is the Solo.

While the Solo isn't really pocket stealthy, using the soda cup method, it really becomes super stealthy. I enjoy going to the beach, and I think the Solo and Soda Cup is the perfect way to go. Im sure I will have a few more questions along the way, but just wanted to say thank you. With the help of this board, I now know the best ways to charge the batteries, both on the first and subsequent attempts.

I agree!!
With the straight stem it looks like you have a regular straw. I have stood right there and talked to people a couple feet away and they had no clue. My setup is just a McDonald's cup. I put my pot in film canisters and put them under the Solo, so the "straw" looks longer. Yes great at the beach, I miss summer:

There is also an adapter available that would enable you to attach a regular plastic straw for even more stealth.

Yes! This is the photo that sold me on the Solo. I don't think the stealth adapter is even necessary. No one would ever suspect a thing. Even smaller and more discreet units like the PAX, still makes it look like you might be doing something sketchy.

This is tough to beat on the stealth side. I love it. I can't wait to get my Solo. As per the advice given to others, I plan on contacting Ray @PuffItUp tomorrow. Getting' ready for the vape life.

Actually now I've tried it for a couple sessions it's a great piece, works great!!I'm using old school glass bong! They gave me a o ring with it....I guess thats in case it's loose,I'm using thinner o rings so it's still a little loose.I have to get use to using the solo like a carb with 2 hands...one to hold the solo and the other to hold the middle of the GonG adapter or it will slide out of the oven lol! There cool glass pieces.....I love them:)I have one of of those pinacle coming from DHgate not sure what to expect from it?

I have had my Solo for a little over 6 months and today I noticed that my baseplate has cracked off around one of the screws and edge. I see that some other Solo owners have experienced this and I was wondering on the best course of action...contact Arizer, change the screws, add a washer, add a rubber foot, etc. FWIW, I have Model M1A4.

FLelder ent,
Get a hold of FCer @Pipes. He has a stand that protects the base. My last pic of my Solo and the WT shows the base on my Solo. Couple pages back.

For those of you that have base stands from Pipes, do you leave them on all the time? Or just when you are charging? Can you vape with the base stand on the Solo?

I leave my Pipes stand all the time.

Just to show you there's no simple answers: I only use mine to charge. I tried leaving it on full time, took less than a day for me to loose it in my travels and have to go back to find it after I noticed it had fallen off.

IMO part of the power of Pipes' design. Just like the Solo itself it lends itself to different techniques. I suggest you try it and see how it suits you? While we may differ some in how we use it, we seem consistent in our praise of it's utility and quality. IMO you won't be sorry.

Cool. I didn't know if leaving it on all the time would cause ventilation problems. Thank you.

Pipes has taken that into account (the vents are clear and have free air available). If you knew Pipes better you expect that......sharp guy even if he does dress funny.

Nice! Let me know what you think of the wood. I've got the same one and while it is a work of art it seems pretty hot to my lips, kind of like using just the glass stem. I solely use the pinnacle water tool now and 7 all the way. Works great for me! :)
