40 years and Still Learning - You?

My first taste was at 8. I found parents pre-rolled stash and lit it up. I didn't know what it was. I cut off the burned end and let it fall into the scissor drawer. Needless to say we had a "talk" shortly thereafter. Fast forward to 15 and I'm about on the regular. I found a larger stash (that I later found out was something that washed up on the beach. It was really good, not too compressed nice and green.). I didn't have to buy it for myself until later teens. I have not taken a break since. So about 31 years. Been making errl since 2003, but I didn't know how best to consume it so it was more of an occasional thing. W9 Tech (@THC SCIENTIFIC ) really changed the game for me. I had a box/whip vape years ago but I didn't like it at all. Just got a Solo (now 2) a few months ago. Still new to vaping. Combustion tastes like ass now. I miss my joints (but not too much).

So yes I learn something new every day.

There are some around here who have been getting happy for a long, long, time. For those who have been at it for as long or longer than my 40 years of HIGHness I say....'Remember the Thai Sticks'! For those just getting around to double digits I say .... 'Damn, you missed the Thai Sticks'!
I distinctly remember the first time i had some real Thai Stick :o All of the weed we had back in the 60's 70's was crap compared to what we have now. You bought a lid(oz.) for about $25 and watched at least a 1/3 of it roll down to the middle of your double album sleeve lol seeds and stems were big back then ;) A friend told me he had some Thai that was brought back from Nam, he takes it out and starts pulling it off the stick and then rolled the thinnest joint i had ever seen, i thought he was kidding me, that couldn't get me high, my nickname was lead head cause i could out smoke all my friends:lol: Well that joint fucked me up and that was the one and only time i had Real Thai stick, everything since has been bogus .:(

My face is melting...
47 YO in human years which is no indication of my level of maturity.

Brief synopsis:

The usual teenage experience in terms of exposure to sex, drugs and rock 'n roll which extended into my college years.

Had to play the straight and narrow for the first couple of decades of adulthhood (military service, career, fatherhood, etc.)

Circumstances change, divorce, kids growing up and moving out allowing me to revert back into being who I really am.

Spinal surgery and it's associated discomforts led me to the conclusion that I had a valid reason for a MMJ license.

It has improved my life.

I'm 54, and my very first experience with our lovely herb was December of 2012.

Yup, just two years. That's all.

I've never smoked cigs, never hit a bong, never dropped drugs, and rarely drank.
Such a boring girl, E was. So boring. and fucking self-righteous as fuck. Thought I was so very better than people who "used" stuff.
Only up-side to that, was I felt the same way about pharmas. I don't buy into western medicine - though emergency treatment for injuries is halfway decent, but you still have to protect yourself from MRSA and Staph infections. They won't do it for you.

Enter the herb. First real try (couldn't do the pipe thing, ewww) was an edible. Yup, over did it big time. WOW.

and I loved it.

Started trying to figure out how to use, and went to a local glass retailer, and the totally cool kid behind the counter (white guy with dreads - and I really love him, and his tall buddy, cuz they listen, and they don't judge) scribbles "fuckcombustion.com" on a scrap piece of paper and shoves it at us.

I saw a NO2 at the first MMJ Farmer's Market I went to, and came home and looked it up, on FC. Found Vitolo, just like @CarolKing did, on his blog, and then I ordered one. It was great, but like all introductory vapes, it made me want to find desktop units, smaller portables...

I'm currently using cannabis paste, in capsule form, and plan to go into full green smoothie mode with fresh cannabis, using it as a dark green leafy, for further systemic healing. I am excited about trying all sorts of holistic ways of using our favorite plant!

I liked your approach to summing up an entire human life. Very relatable

Great stories! Nicely painted. Loved Enchantre's Hallelujah insert and timing.

I could spend all day reading through 'the boomer' responses in this thread and others from around that same era because I can literally see, taste, smell and generally flashback to those same memories. So great.....

Started the summer after HS graduation. Smoked for fun once and awhile, my older sister told my mom......eventually my mom asked to try it. So we goto smoke in my room and my dad walks in LOL. So thats how my dad found out I smoke.

5 years of smoking off and on, started my vape journey with the solo and now I have been vaping for almost 2 years. I am in college and enjoy teaching others about vaporizers. Being a science major its fun to learn science and vaporize (two big passions of mine).

I think it'sgood that there are so many late bloomers coming to the scene. It's an sign of more open mindeness in people.

Many of the people I knew who used during my youth started very early. I waited a few years until I was in HS. It was the 80's, much more Cheech and Chong than it is these days.

Many experiences in the formative years were very good, some not so much. In hindsight, part of the funnest and best times of my life.

Anyway, I think I turned out OK. Most of my loser friends are probably no worse off than I am.

Experiences, about all that you can ask from life.
