Woo! Take em down MF.

On another note i have an experience that might be appealing to people who enjoy large thick hits. After three months of sharing my lb on the slopes with my skiing buddies two of them purchased mflb's because they loved them so much. This past weekend was the first time I have not had to pass my lb around the group continuously whilst taking a break in the woods, which was pleasant, and after we had been launching for a while i got the brilliant idea of taking one of my friends lb's as well as mine and hitting them simultaneously. It was awesome! With assistance we were hitting three at a time and the hits were massive and lung busting. We all got ridiculously vaked and i plan to experiment with it further in the future, including some way to hook two of them up to a percolated glass piece at once. Im not sure if its a placebo or what but whenever i take bigger hits and hold them in as long as i do smaller hits i get much higher even thought im bowing out a lot of "wasted vapor".

Sparknotes: Hit multiple LB's simultaneously and received extremely satisfying results.

Hey, quick question. Am I putting extra wear on my batteries by keeping them in the charger longer than needed? (using the stock batteries and charger and I bought mine 2 days ago btw)

That depends on how long you leave them there. A few hours is not a problem, but a few days is not advisable.

pakalolo,
Hey FC, first time poster here. I'm thinking about buying an MFLB, and I want to get a package with at least a grinder or maybe something else included. I've been looking on eBay because they take paypal and seem to be some pretty decent packages. I'm looking at these two:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Magic-Flight-La...054?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb1f29a46

http://cgi.ebay.com/Magic-Flight-La...993?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51972cf949

Anyone got any recommendations? They both seem to be pretty reputable sellers, and are essentially the same exact deal (MFLB, 2 extra batteries, and grinder) at the same price ($99). Which one do you think is better?

Thanks.

I would go with your second link. Warehousegoodsonline is the ebay outlet for Vape World. They are a reputable company and the deal they are offering on ebay looks like a good one.

edited to welcome you to the forum mass apeal!

Thanks for the input, and the welcome.

I have a question about the grinders though. Isn't the "chromium" grinder nicer than the acrylic one? Just going on by pure looks here and no real basis, but the chromium one offered in the other package looks a little better. Correct me if I'm wrong.

All other things being equal (seller reputation, etc.), the chromium grinder will work much better than the acrylic one. However, to get your herb ground finely enough, many here, including myself, use a coffee grinder. I have a chromium grinder like the one in the ebay lot and it doesn't grind finely enough. Just about any coffee grinder will do, although some prefer Proctor-Silex or Mr. Coffee. A coffee grinder will also loosen a lot of kief and you should be able to collect that with a brush. Funny thing is that a coffee grinder may cost you $10 and a chromium grinder might cost you $15.

Since you're already on ebay, check out all the coffee grinders. That's where I picked up an extra one for myself. I keep one for my coffee and one for my herb. You can also pick one up at Walmart.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SELLER IF THIS IS THE CASE!

Just my luck, it seems I purchased a box that has had the number sanded off.
I will open up a paypal dispute right now and see where it goes from there. I have never opened up a paypal dispute for this reason.
I'm guessing i'll have to take pictures, and explain that the item can never be warrantied because the serial number was sanded off.

I threw out the box it was shipped in. I will follow your instructions after I open up the paypal dispute.

thank you I'm glad I came here now, i'd like to see the seller get arrested if they're stolen. That would be priceless! scumbags!

This happened to me too. The same day i got it, i noticed no serial number and contacted the seller (vapequest through eBay). Though they were kind of full of shit (claiming that none of the 2011 units from the distributor had serial numbers), they *did* refund my payment in full and i purchased a replacement from Vape World. I see your seller is a new one and also located in Alpharetta, GA. (Vapequest is listed as Los Angeles, but item shipped from Alpharetta.) I can't help but suspect that it's the same seller.

Hey everyone! I have a question..

What is the BEST TIGHTEST way to hook my MFLB up to a BONG?

What kind of tubing? Do i need to use the plastic stem too? or can you easily hook tubing up natively to the LB?

liteweight, how much better is the coffee grinder. I have the acrylic and it looks like it does the job. I saw one at Walmart for 15$ that looks good but I am not sure if its worth it.

It is worth it, believe me. MagicFlight says your herb should be ground as fine as salt. You cannot grind it that fine with an acrylic or chromium grinder.

I suppose you could buy the coffee grinder you found at Walmart, try it and then if you don't see a difference, return it and get your $15 back. However, once you see how nicely ground it is, almost powdery, I doubt if you will return it. It's possible to grind a lot at one time, just a few pulses and and a few grams are powder. Really saves wear and tear on your hands too. Also, once you've vaped your herb about three times, dump it into your hand or a piece of paper, crumble it between your thumb and fingers or use the end of a battery, then dump it back into the trench. That will make it vape better.

Acrylic or chromium grinders are nice if you need something portable.

I posted a question regarding the general use of coffee grinders on a medical mj board and here were some of the replies:

"I too use a coffee grinder, 3 bumps for joints and 2 revs for making hash and butter.. HAHAHA
this is because I too have severe wrist pain, i broke my wrist twice on the growth plate, it nearly renders my hand useless, and the thought of going back to a manual grinder is a pain in itself."

"I too use a coffee grinder, works great and I love taking a small brush and gather the keef! Nothing like a few grams in there and a nice pile of keef obtained! Adding the keef to a bowl in the vape or have a large enough amount to mix in a blunt, makes for a great evening!"

"I used a Cuisinart blade coffee grinder. Works awesome.
Afterwards, I use a spatula to get in there and scrape away the extra powdered herb. Effective and the grinder makes a nice, fine herb for baking."

I have grinders and an electric coffee grinder. The coffee grinder collects way too much kief dust in the lid IMO and I usually grind "per session" so its not the most practical for me. A good 2 piece can grind as fine as you want, same as the coffee grinder.

I use a spare coffee grinder too and use the mflb brush to brush off the kief. I grind enough for about a week and put it in an empty tictac box which makes it easy to pour. (If i want to use just a little bit of a different strain, I'll use the acrylic grinder and after a couple draws, crumble the dried herb between my fingers even further.)
Be careful not to grind too fine though, otherwise it will stick to the trench.

Thanks for the all the quick answer. I think im just going to stick with the grinder because it works great and I can just crumple it after a couple hits. Thanks though liteweight...i will definitely need to rethink this in the future about getting one though

Honestly, I didnt' find using a coffee grinder helpful at all. Since I get med herbs (which are usually very fresh) and I want to grind quick, its hard because the herb needs to be pretty dry.

THe coffee grinder collected too much kief (which I like to just mix with all the regular stuff)
THe coffee grinder didn't even grind as fine as my 2 pc space case, and maybe it wasn't dry enough, but this was with a brand new sharp coffee grinder, with a medium sized nugg. is the trick to coffee grinding using a lot of bud? or what?

I will stick with my space case for now, it is sad because the coffee grinder was like $13. kind of a waste i think.

Magic Flight (merged)

Hello all,

I am a newbie although quite old. Received my MF on Saturday and have been enjoying ever since. After endless reading it seems you should turn over and shake between hits. I seem to get a fair amount under the plexi, I keep the rubber-bands on and try to flick the box to get it back into the trench. Any recommendations? Just open the lid?

Thanx

ld,
alright so i think i've settled on this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Magic-Flight-La...054?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb1f29a46

I haven't ebayed in a while: has anyone ordered something similar with Expedited Shipping (USPS) and can tell how long it took to get there? The estimate is 3-5 days, but I'm skeptical. Basically, I want it to arrive within a general timespan of 3-4 days and am wondering how long it takes on average.

Thanks, this has all been helpful.

It has nothing to do with eBay. It's just whether that particular seller will get it into the mail fast, and how far you are from the shipper (as Al Bundy said).

If this is any help, I ordered from Blisssville on Monday evening and on Tuesday it was in the mail from Southern California. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and I expect it Friday, maybe even Thursday.
