Even tho I don't have the mighty, and I do plan on buying it, I'm glad I went with the crafty first. The mighty seems like it may be a better fit after trying out the crafty. If I was vaping alone, and wasn't looking to have extended use outside, I feel like the crafty is the vape to get. But 99.9% of my vaping is with the wife, and I find we go thru the crafty very quickly, but still get medicated properly. With the mighty I'm assuming a bigger bowl size and a more extended session, though probably not extended that much longer. My one and only complaint, the battery is just awful in my opinion. That an easy work around, tho hurts it's potential for portability. This unit also needs regular, and by that I mean everyday cleaning. Today I threw the prices in iso for 30min, agitated it a few times throughout and they came out looking as good as new. Definitely gonna be putting accessories on the Xmas list tho. Couldn't be happier with the purchase, money well spent. Can't say that about a single portable I bought trying to equal the production of the solo. Which I still haven't touched since getting the crafty, and I have used my solo everyday for the last couple years. I'm all about routine and habit, change isn't easy, and yet, i can't help but reach for the crafty.

To be honest with you I don't think the Mighty would help with that. I don't have either yet but I have found when I use the Plenty with the liquid pad and just cover the surface area with herbs it also goes through a session rather quickly but that quick session gets where you need to be. I imagine the Crafty/Mighty work similarly. Crafty/Mighty owners, do you agree or not?

If that's the case, unless the mighty really out preforms the crafty, I don't see any reason to purchase It over the crafty, except for extended portable use. The lcd display is nice , but the app is pretty much that and give it a more advanced feel Imo. Seems like it comes down to size, and battery life.

I love bud's reviews, but it seems he awards big points for portability (the pax is high on his list and I personally think that's average vapor quality).

So it's not like scoring is solely based on it's performance alone, but he does say it performs better than some desktops and is like a portable plenty (which many users have already mentioned on here).

I think it's a pretty good review, but he neglected to mention about the possibility of battery backup from a micro usb phone charger. Nor did he go into depth with the app (or even show it).

Is Bud on these forums?

**edit: I meant a portable phone battery bank (as in a portable battery backup for it), that could charge it while it's in your pocket.

This has definitely NOT been my experience. With 8 hours on the Crafty, I've only cleaned it once around the 2 hour mark. Another cleaning is probably in my future in the next week or so though.

Like you said, cleaning is easy with iso. But I definitely disagree with saying the cooling top needs cleaning everyday.

Has anyone opened up the unit to take a look at the battery? Is it an 18650? How difficult is it to replace? I understand this voids the warranty.

It fits nice and snug on the Crafty mouthpiece forming a perfect seal. And with that perfect seal I'm getting hits equivalent to those from the best desktop vapes.

Me as well, massive hits. Good call on the tubing, I love the Vaporbrothers tubing and just happened to have some. This is my version of the @JCat adapter. All you need is 2 pieces, the tubing and the reducer. Works like a charm . . . :cool:

NICE. Would have been cool to see the app use though

I actually had very brief correspondence with Bud to get his advice. He is a really cool guy who went out of his way to help a stranger. He was never well-received around these parts from what I gather from his comments and the many comments from members.

I still wouldn't be surprised if he lurked from time-to-time...

I am no rocket neuro scientist but i think if you got one of those 6 amp (30 watt) 5 volt converters (has several USB ports) you could power the 27 watt Crafty indefinateley even if the battery was dead.

There is no direct pass-through ... ie. the heater on the Crafty is powered by the battery and the battery is charged through the USB port ...

A few figures to keep in mind:
- Max charge rate = 5Vx1.5A = 7.5W
- Max discharge rate = 28W (or 28W/3.7V ~= 7.6A)

So if the heater was running at full capacity (and never at rest ... you could never keep up with the charge vs discharge rate) ... however, in a "real world" scenario the heater is only engaged part of the time and likely not at full power all the time ... so depending how hard one inhales and the outside temperature etc. ... your actual discharge rate would be much less than 28W on average.

Another "con" for some people could be the Big Brother data collection factor, while the Mighty doesn't have to connect to your smartphone.

There should also be another serial number sticker on the box, at least that's how the Mighty works. I also noticed the serial number fading away on the device.

I don't see why this would be a con necessarily. There is no way 'big brother' can determine what herbs are being vaporized. The instructions provided in the app offers a temp guide for some well known herbs. I can't recall, but I don't think cannabis is listed.

All this talk of low battery life and need for external power packs makes me want a crafty/mighty without batteries that is strictly the heater/control portion running in pass-through off a standard 12v/10amp power supply, I'm hoping it would be called the 'handy'. As well as working on ac power you could make any size battery pack you wanted by wiring 1S/6000mAh lipos in parallel, if the 2650mAh batt gets ~5 bowls, a dual lipo pack would get ~24 bowls. Now I'm actually considering buying a crafty and replacing the battery with a plug (rated for 10amps connected to the +/- terminals) for use in pass-through or with a pack.

I live in a legal state so I don't know how I would feel if I didn't. It's easy to get paranoid. I would think the cops would have better things to do? But who knows? Some of these states are over the top in ridiculousness over cannabis. I don't have a Crafty yet to comment on the app. I really do understand the paranoia in some parts of the country. I'm really intrigued by the app. The Mighty seems so big to hold and you can't set it down uptight.

I'm not sure on the amounts being used to pull 6 bowls from a charge on this device, but I always pack to the top, and last night from full charge to completely dead.... 3 full bowls, don't even think I finished that last one fully before it shut off. I feel as if it's working properly, I just think the battery is that bad. Can anyone recommend a longer cable for using this while on charge? Don't want to get the wrong type cable. Thanks

I think S&B made the Crafty to compete with other pocket portables like the Pax and FF etc. It has great extraction and really tasty vapors and yes, we'd all like better battery life in our portables, but something had to give and in this case it's battery life.

I've never tried a FF or Haze, but from what i've read the Crafty seems to beat them all .

I got 5 full bowls on my initial charge last night -cause i wanted to run the battery down, didn't really need more but lol. I'm a low temp vaper, did boost it once just to play with the app,. but i need to be nice to my lungs ;)

Buy the Plenty? It's exactly what you are describing. You could probably even create your own battery pack for it.
