Just did the math.....I've been doing the doob for 40 years and I just got turned on to vaping within the last 6 months. Not sure if I should think of it as ..... YOU CAN teach an old dog new tricks OR WTF took you so long.

How long have you been getting baked and how long have you been vaping?

I turn 24 in December, and I smoked bongs from age 16 to 21
Then had a 2 year break, and for the last 3-4 months now I have vaporized :)
It is something I will always do. It's wonderful and life changing :)

I'm 52 and started smoking cigarettes at 16 so i would not cough so much when i smoked weed at the same age. Quit weed and cigarettes in my 20's and 30's and picked them both up simultaneously in my 40's post divorce! Stopped both again in 2009 and picked them both up again last year while backpacking in Europe . A little over 2 months ago i switched to vapor nicotine to ween off cigarettes and discovered vaping weed which i had never heard of before and researching that led me to this forum! So i have been smoke free only a short time but feel amazing and wont go back - so happy for healthier and cleaner options:leaf:

As compared to what?

LMAO :-D

Compared to 55 years of smoking weed lol (which i'm sure would take it's toll!)

Who said I've been smoking for 55 years? I just stated when I started smoking and when I started vaping. There was some pretty long breaks in there.

And as far as taking a toll, I figure if I can run 20 miles a week and lapping guys half my age on the track, I think I'm doin' ok.

I'm 49 this month. Started smoking weed at 13. Stopped through high school except for a hand full of times when it was passed to me. I moved to Oklahoma my high school years and we drank truck loads of beer and whisky. Farm boys didn't smoke back then. Started back up steady at 21 and haven't really stopped sense. I wanted to vape but didn't want to spend 500 bucks on one. I found this site almost a year ago and spent over 500 bucks. Glad I'm here and thanks to you all here for draining my wallet and feeding my mind!

I just turned 53. I think I started smoking back when I was about 12 or 13. I was in my Comprehensive Art class in school when a friend turned me on to it (along with a copy of Dark Side of the Moon). Smoked quite a bit up until I was 19 when I then joined the Air Force. Then life took over and I smoked very sporadically and sparingly until about a year ago. I've been fighting cancer for a few years now and I've read of a few cases where marijuana helps to arrest the growth and sometimes results in remissions of cancer. So I thought, "Why the hell not?" So a year ago when I picked up smoking again, I was turned off by the taste. I'm one of those rare folks who has never smoked cigarettes (at all) and I'm just not big on the taste of smoke or the inhaling of carcinogens into my already afflicted body. I heard about vaporizing, did some Googling, and here I am! I've been vaping solid now nightly for the past year and love it. For the moment, my cancer is in check and my medicine allows me to de-stress each night after a long day of work.

My brother served me my first sacred taste. It was smoldering sinsimilla hashish, straw sucked from under an upturned glass.
That was 45 years ago. I have been on and off during some family years; when on there is no off. Vaping replaced combustion eight months back.
Two weeks back I had my first experience as a legal buyer when visiting Denver. I may yet succeed in shopping legal stores without qualifying for a state medical card.
I need a back yard! My last poor garden was in my Denver area garden before Reagan began wrecking our republic.

Smoked my first joint in 1972 in the 9th grade in my best friends bedroom. We had a group of us and my friend and I kinda over did it. I didn't have the nerve to do it again for a while. Then behind the bleachers at our high school we smoked a half a joint during our free period. I can't believe we did that! I would have freaked if we would have gotten caught. Im sure the cops would have been called. How stupid was that? People thought I was a goody two shoes. Honestly I wasn't a bad kid. I never got in trouble. I just never got caught.

I started smoking recreationally in my 20s. We would smoke a joint or a pipe before bed after the kids were down. My brother and sister in law would come over Saturday evenings and we would play cards and smoke weed then watch Saturday Night Live back in the day when it first started. Way back in the John Belushi days. We had so much fun.

I realized that cannabis helped my low back pain too. That was before I heard anything about medical mj. I continued recreationally buying from the black market whatever came a long from a trusted friend. At times feeling very paranoid on my way home with my "stash" in the car. I continued to smoke cannabis until Dec. 31 2012.

Sometime in December I had come across a YouTube video about the No. 2 vaporizer and our good friend @Vitolo was showing off its finer qualities. He had me sold. I started researching it and came across FC. I ended up buying a No 2 for myself for Christmas that year. This was the best present I could have bought myself. I had been worried about my cannabis use over the years. I felt my lungs were not as strong as they used to be. I envisioned the build up of resins that I would see in the pipe, in my lungs. I knew my lifestyle needed to change.

I read as a person in the shadows the different FC members waiting for the next new vaporizer. I was silently waiting with the rest of the FC population for the Davinci Ascent to come out. Everyone would think that it would be coming out on a certain day. That day would come and go. Still no Ascent. I would read some of the commits. People were really getting upset about it. I hadnt officially joined FC but everyday I would read through some of my fav threads.

I decided I wanted to try out another vaporizer. I had been really happy with the No 2. I decided on the Solo. The thread was so long and so many very happy Soloists. The Solo was everything I wanted in a vaporizer and more. It medicated better than the No 2 (I still love the No 2). It brought the experience to another level when I discovered the PVHES mouthpieces. A much easier draw for me. I felt like at times I would feel breathless with the stock mouthpieces with the pre 2014 Solo. The PVHES mouthpieces really helped with my enjoyment of the Solo.

In Nov a year ago I joined FC officially and so glad I did. I feel I've been a member longer than that. I have learned a lot about vaping. I've bought other portable vaporizers some good some not so good. Last May with the encouragement of others I got my medical certification for cannabis. I would never have done it without my friends here on FC . The concern and support was overwhelming. Reading other FCers experiences really helped me. I felt FC friends holding my hand all along the way.

I've really, really, enjoyed the back and forth between Deja Vu and lwien...

Added value is the background in some of the responses. I'm new to the site and I'm starting to get some feel for the cast of characters and must say.... Pretty interesting group of folks.

There are some around here who have been getting happy for a long, long, time. For those who have been at it for as long or longer than my 40 years of HIGHness I say....'Remember the Thai Sticks'! For those just getting around to double digits I say .... 'Damn, you missed the Thai Sticks'!
