Hello everyone, I have seen FC before but I joined because I am looking to purchase the Herbalizer as my first vape. I want to be absolutely sure before I drop this kind of paper so I wanted to see if anyone is willing to share their opinion or advice.

Also, does anyone know when the next generation is expected?

Glad to be here

. Welcome SlightlyStoned (are you?) LOL What country do you live? I, like a few of us are waiting to buy a export model, (that is anyone living outside of USA/Canada). The "word" is they will hopefully have one late January but judging from previous experiences with other vaps, I would not hold your breath. If it is released January then Im sure they would have the brains to do any updates or whatever, a 12 volt in plug would be nice also. Have you vaporized before with any vap or will this be the "first time" for both?

I have a Jet Water pipe for combustion lately due to the vapes I have had being less than spectacular. I have the MFLB w/pa, and the Whispr. I know they were lower level vaporizers so I didn't really have a control of the temp or the convenience of any of the whips or bags. Lately with my ulcers and other lovely hospital issues I have been smoking more, sadly with the combustion side of things or making mass batches of edibles or extractions. I was looking for a while and spent the last few weeks watching review after review after review of desktop vaporizers, everything from the 7th floor series, to the plenty, extreme q or even cloudx. I saw a review on Vape Critic of the herbalizer and was blown away. It can do EVERYTHING, so I find this thread and start to research your personal stories and all your helpful reviews. I would just like to say, thank you all I am looking forward to my Herbalizer being delivered on Friday. Cannot wait to have such precision and beauty instead of being a caveman over here.

Could someone link me a 14mm glass 90 that would attach to this well with the whip?

I ordered a spare bowl and some extra screens ahead of time as well.

The Herbalizer already arrived this morning, never have I gotten so medicated so fast. The whip works wonders, and I do enjoy the bags, but like someone mentioned it feels as if the fan may be lacking or defective. The bags take 2 button presses of the fan to fully inflate, the fan will fully go a cycle and the balloon will only be 3/5ths full requiring another button press to fill it fully. I have the 2 year and a lifetime warranty on top of that, but from common use is this normal or is this an issue with the fan?

annnnd seconds after posting that I vaped the high end of the spectrum and saw vapor leaking from the stem of the balloon as it filled, held the baloon to the valve so no vapor got out and bag filled all the way the first time. Just a wee bit of a suction issue, 10 minutes into owning this thing I feel as if Im too medicated to experiment much more now, will post back later xD

Hmmm

I just got my herbie on Wednesday. Even after 30-40 bags, I haven't noticed any leakage or slow filling. Is this a common problem? I know there was an issue with the first generation of bags, but I thought Engineer said the bags being released now would be better?

To be fair I bought it through a third party site Vapor Nation, could have been in the warehouse for some time. Not really upset about it, Ill end up ordering new bags and that'll fix that down the line. They lifetime warranty it so if it is a hardware issue, I doubt it'll be much of a hassle, but I just see it as more of a hey, its 45 seconds of bag holding for a good time.

Leakage can happen due to the force of the fan pushing up a well used balloon that doesn't seat and seal completely. I've literally seen the ballon lift up...that's what happens with positive pressure.

all good in the hood.
I never hold my bag down and have never had any leaking. I generally put the bag on and either space out while it is filling or sometimes walk in the other room. I then realize i forgot about it and run back in to grab it. I never never had any leakage....

This is my go to direct draw setup. Bent Solo stem and 3/8 in silicone tubing. Huge hits, huge flavor.

Believe it is just as Biohacker said, I wiggled the bag a bit further down the stem and the suction does seem full then, guess that is what I get for trying the Balloons 15min after the whip, wasn't in the clearest of judgements at that point!

I don't own an herbalizer, but I do own a volcano classic, and my friend owns an herbalizer. First, I like the fact that the herbalizer has more variety (you can use the whip or bags) but I prefer bags. Also the herbalizer has a smaller loading chamber. I consider that a pro because I feel small chambers help conserve bud, but you also get less bags out of one full chamber (expected since you are using less). In my opinion, both are top quality and you'll like either one. I'd also consider looking into the cloud EVO. I have never used one but I only hear great things and it is cheaper than both the volcano and the herbalizer. You have lots of resources here to research which vape will be best for your needs.

What's up Jive? I'm in the US. I heard some talk of a new model in January and I thought this was a next generation but I see now it's a global version.

I have limited experience with vapes. I tried a couple in high school almost 10 years ago and didn't like them (I'm sure they were complete garbage compared to even an average vape today).

A year or 2 ago I bought an Omicron pen vape and it was nothing but headaches. I'm sure my inexperience played a role but I literally never got a good pull off of it. I thought it was a battery or heating issue, either way it never worked for me, and turned me off of vaping and new products.

Howdy, well your ok if living in USA. Im sure most peoples experience with a first vaporizer are the people trying to give up cigarettes and it actually helps a lot of people but as im sure you are starting to realize there are vaporizers and THEN there`s a GOOD vaporizers .
I have friends that have been combusting for many years (40years+) and living around the Nimbin area this is where it all happens! The "diehards" just cant let go of combustion because usually they say they cant get the same "high" and other reasons. Others are glad to try a healthier way and realize the "high" is just different that`s all and just as good if not better you just need a little bit of experience with a good quality vap. There are members that have medical conditions and others that just like to get stoned and most for both LOL.
Like most I started off with a shitty one then bought another and another and another. Some members on here have had many vaps and continue to buy as new ones hit the market. There are more shitty ones out there then good but you are now well informed by being on this great forum of knowledge.
I know I might eat my words down the track but AT THE MOMENT I intend staying with two one for home and one for travel but being able to use either for home or travel. If the Herbalizer is as good as every review I have read (that is without all the hype and bullshit) then the Herbie will be my home and the Solo for travel.
Buddy I can save you a lot of time and money by suggesting to you (these are my own opinions) that you can not go wrong with either, both have been tried and tested for a while now and in my opinion if I had to choose only two for reliability, efficiency, ease of use, vapor quality, transportability the Solo and Herbie are the ones!! (and I haven`t even tried the Herbie) It is because I and quite a few others on the forum have gained the experience not only for the use and expected vapor quality but because most have now the knowledge to see through all the bullshit and hype that usually comes with new vaps.

What's the size (diameter and mesh density) of the screens?

Does anyone have a link to 50 of them for $10 some where?

I've used the first 2 for over 10 months now, time to switch to the second set that came with it. There has to be a better place to get them than the Herbie web site.

Hey @jivebuggered, another fellow Aussie here waiting for the 220v model too! Taking forever! Nearly given up on occasions and thought of just getting a ssv for my whip needs.

I have to disagree mate, for long standing, proven track reliability, the volcano has to be king. Herbie is good, I'm just waiting till someone's halogen needs replacing, I'm sure that will cost an arm and a leg. (I'm still getting a herbie, just saying volcano has the real proven track record).

There are good options out there other than the solo and herbie.
But having said that I have a solo and I love it. But word on FC and all reviewer sites is that the crafty is even better! Mine arrives tomorrow, but I ain't selling my solo that's for sure! (already been hassled by mates ahaha).

I started off the same as you. Solo and a desktop, should do me, right? Now I've got a crafty on the way and soon to get the herbie lol... VAS is a b!tch mate!

I hate old school Combusters.... Some are so stubborn... I've had the same experiences too... Some of my mates are sold on vaping because of me... Others just love their combustion and are creatures of habit..

@jivebuggered - I totally agree with you. I have used alot of vaporizers (over a dozen including all the big boys) over the past decade as i've been vaping exclusively. The Herbie is my favourite, and IMO the best desktop vaporizer out there. I did have to sell mine for financial reasons and due to the fact that my usage patterns have changed, I couldn't justify the invesment, at this point anyway. Completely agree, Herbie for home and Solo for away (or home cordless) is my favourite vape combo. Bang for buck, nothing is better than the Solo IMO only.

@Thcgos - You're right, the Volanco is king of the bags, however the Herbie is more efficient with its smaller bowl size and it's a much more versatile vape. Never considered the halogen bulb, so you're right Volcano durability is proven - Herbie is not. Fortunately the warranty is decent, but that's only good as long as the company stays in business. I'm concerned that @Engineer /Josh as completely vanished..

Re: Crafty/Solo.... unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, or are a "must have" kinda guy without a mortgage, I don't think the Crafty is 3X better than the Solo based on its price. It's something I keep an eye on, but just don't see myself spending $400usd on a portable. To each their own though, i'm sure it's an incredible device.

Although it has been mentioned before, I do want to echo something to prospective buyers. The Herbie isn't cheap, and is marketed as a DUAL purpose Aromatherapy/Vaportherapy device. @Engineer explained the history previously on why the Aromatherapy was added to cover their asses, and he disagreed with the implementation of it (I tend to agree with him). This is a big deal to me, in Canada we pay alot more for Herbie plus taxes, and it quickly approaches $1000. The only reason my wife let me purchase it, is that she was able to get her Aromatherapy as we like essential oil diffusion, and I would use it for Vaportherapy. We were very disappointed with the Aromatherapy function, as are others. I understand many of you don't care, because it kicks such as for Vaportherapy, but for the cost it's a huge letdown. It does not do what it is advertised to do.

I reached out to Herbalizer to see if they could help. My customer service has been different from most. My first 2 messages (from their website) went completely unanswered (I was patient and waited a couple of weeks). So then I phoned and left a message, which eventually was returned. I spoke to a lady by the name of Carrie who was super friendly and professional, and assured me that the web portal lack of response was due to their site being "hacked", which I remember, but that was a while back. I was then told that someone else would contact me to discuss the Aromatherapy, and if they can do anything for me. That was a couple of weeks ago, nobody called me back. This isn't a huge issue, but it's a little frustrating when you are patient, and waiting. I have since sold the Herbie so I don't really care anymore.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy the next version of the Herbie if they zoned in just on a good vaporizer, but i'm hoping that @Engineer is already working on this!

"Re: Crafty/Solo.... unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, or are a "must have" kinda guy without a mortgage, I don't think the Crafty is 3X better than the Solo based on its price."

RE herbie halogen:
Yes, but the warranty will probably be up by the time the halogen pops. I can imagine it would not be cheap to replace at all. And yes totally agree that @Engineer disappearing is a slight worry, he was great from what I've seen/heard.

RE crafty:
Given the reviews are saying that it is a pocket plenty. And that it is on par with the good desktops and better than most other desktops.I personally think it's price is justified.

3x better than the solo? By that logic, considering people are paying $1000 for a herbie, is the herbie 7x better than a solo?

Don't get me wrong I love my solo, but it ain't in desktop territory with respect to output. Many FC'ers and reviewers all concur that the crafty is phenomenal on all fronts and worth every penny. To have s&b plenty vapor quality in my pocket is mind boggling.
I would be able to sell my solo easy... If the need arised... I just have too much sentimental attachment to sell it now (my first vape:love:)

Edit: .... Plus the crafty is smaller and more portable....
