The app seems like a fun idea. At first I didn't like the thought of it. Now I'm coming around by all the positive opinions of others.

One of my biggest gripes with my solo is the harshness of the vapour compared to my indica. Can someone comment on how the crafty's vapour compares harshness wise to the solo?

Cheers

I think it is quite a lot smoother than a dry Solo but no doubt Solo is easy to hook up to a bubbler. I find using my F-bomb with the Solo to produce very smooth vapor though.

That's great to hear! I unfortunately can't use any WTA coz I'm flying super stealthy.

Now very tempted to pull the trigger on the crafty. An Aussie retailer is getting one soon :)

Im also Australian but Im an expat in Asia :) I honestly believe that a water tool is not required with the Crafty. The option would be nice though.

Also in regards to the Clouds produced by Crafty I am of the opinion that is produces a significant amount of invisible vapor. I can't explain it. But when I exhale the stream of vapor is similar to the flame you would get from a jet lighter. I'm not scientific enough to back that up with anything reliable but I think part of the stealth factor with the Crafty is the way the vapor disperses. Hope that makes some sense.

Crafty has arrived and is on charge. Will give my first impressions of unit later. Then will follow it up in a week or so once I have had some proper time with unit. :)

First impression. Well made unit with a lot of thought gone into its design. The design seems more for function than looks. Now to the best part. The vapor it produces is excellent. This is first impression and I'm only using the set temps it came with. But was surprised at its vapor production on lowest setting and thought the taste was amazing. (At the minute I have a bit of a cold so will give better view on taste in the future) had a good few pulls then hit the booster and continued with great taste until spent.
The app is also really well done and very easy to use. Also has instructions etc.
I know most of what I have said has probably been said I'm just adding my own opinion.
As a personal portable it seems great and I am happy so far.

I just realised back to back posts. Sorry mods.

After spending a few more sessions I'm happy with purchase. The problems people have reported like leaky tip I believe is a non issue, there is slight leakage but I think it's just the last piece of vape stuck in tube as there is no shotgun.thats still moving with momentum from last pull. Example on evo you lift tube to clear. And battery the battery life is shorter than solo but so are my sessions so I still get about 5-6 sessions. This is still with preset temps, as stated I have app and use it every time just never feel the need to change temps. And feel the effects without needing to go higher in temp.

My main concern before purchase was it might just be a more expensive ascent, it's not!
modnote: no worries!

Great Scott!
I have to disagree with most reviews and the manufacturer on one thing...small bowls.

I have been testing micro bowls all day. I'll add a pic later, but I got some good hits off not even enough to cover the bottom screen of this. Repeated that again as well. Seems to be excellent at vaping small loads!

WITHOUT the liquid pad.

Try it, let me know what you think.

I don't have the Crafty but the Mighty- I put in half a bowl in before I headed to bed- I was able to get good results out of it- No Liquid pad.. So I think this has the ability to see variation in bowl sizes.. Huge plus of these vaporizers IMO

Ok, I'm about to pull the trigger.

I lied, My girlfriend pointed out that Black Friday is coming up. Idk if this is a dumb question but does any of these vape store sites give out good Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals? And if so, do they usually exclude new to the market vaporizers, like the Crafty?

From what I have heard, the sites that offer discounts on their entire site, the new S&B portables will not be included on any discounts. Good luck!

Sweet. Hopefully my patience pays off.

EDIT: I misread that, but thanks for the good luck.

Per Manufacturer orders some products are excluded, and I have a feeling S&B products are one of them.
You can contact the distributor and they usually throw something else for free as a gift, remember they want your business and still profit substantially from the sale.

It depends on the manufacturer, and S&B's pricing usually holds up to what they want it to be with dealers. I doubt you'll see discounts anywhere on either portable any time soon. At least one dealer that's offering discount prices on the Volcano and Plenty models has the $399 and $469 prices on the portables.

For those interested ... I decompiled the CRAFTY.apk file and bypassed the if clause that checks the password on entering the diagnostics panel ... so voila! I now have access to the diagnostics panel on my Android-x86 running on my PC connected to my Crafty :)

That's an interesting screen shot. There appear to be 4 tabs near the top of the screen, and the 3rd of 4 is what we are looking at. Did you look at the other 3 screens?

@grokit Did S&B state somewhere that hacking the software voids the warranty? It's not like he had to physically open the device or anything.

I think you may have missed his winking emoticon, meaning sarcasm.

@smokie - How would you compare your Crafty to the Ascent?

Is the Crafty far superior?

The Ascent is supposed to be an all glass vapor path, while the Crafty is plastic. How does the flavor/taste compare?

Maybe one day knowing that the crafty uses a PT1000 temperature sensor will come in handy, thanks.

Yes I believe it to be far superior to ascent. The taste is great and the clouds are too. You don't have to learn how to use it like an ascent either. It has a nice free draw like ascent but clouds more like solo :)

I've been experimenting more and more and got some great clouds.
@JCat that's really cool! Would be nice to have all that information on the go. Good job

The "new taste" has worn off too.
The battery life really sucks though. I get about 3 bowls out of one charge.
I try to extract as much as possible though, starting pretty low and increasing temperature in 5C steps.
Plugging it in and using it worked fine but as others have said, the cable is pretty short.

Big, tightly packed bowls give much bigger clouds. But I actually had the feeling that I get bigger clouds if I pack it tighter.
I filled about a third to half of the bowl, leveled it and squeezed in the liquid pad.

I'm going to try just throwing a pinch of herb in there and putting a small nug in there and then squeezing a nug under a screen or maybe the liquid pad.
I'm looking for the most efficient way to vape a small bowl because I'm trying to conserve my herb. I can always load a second one.

Seems like the Crafty community is growing with more people contributing every day. Awesome :D
