I am a leaf on the wind ~ watch how I soar...
@Mojo
Lately I'm using the vapman during the day then mix it up some evenings with my Underdog in order to stave off boredom and the change in 'vape signature' seems to be helping keep the number of bowls down then when I exclusively use one vaporizer ( that could be all in my head but that's OK too because it's working for me).

I think A nano or an underdog makes a great companion for the vapman. Although I did find I just had to buy a second Vapman four days after receiving and being blown away by my first.
I would love to have an eNano to mix things up a bit, but I can't seem to bring myself to spend $200 on a vape that I may not like as much as an $80 Vapman. I think I'd end up buying a exotic wood Vapman instead.

If only I knew someone who has one, so I could try before I buy.

Oh, and the part about switching vapes enhances the effect is probably true. At least a few people here swear by it.

I really should get me an eNano. ;)

That post was perfect! LMMFAO! :)

Vapman IMO sounds better then vapeman any way I prefer vapman:)

I like Vapman. Sounds a lot like Batman.

Right after a Vapman session, I email or text a friend: I'm Vapman! [imagine Batman's raspy voice] and my buddies will immediately know what I mean.

@vapman : What are your thoughts on the screens for just ground herb?
I`ve only tried it once and it worked fine. May be the screen is ideal for small quantities of very high grade herbs comparable with concentrates or herbs which are ground too fine to put in the bowl.
For average ground herbs I prefer to use the entire bowl, this is only my personal preference and no instruction in any way. The screen gives us further options in using vapman and makes vapman even more individualistic, I have no fixed rules in my mind about it. Thank you for the good question, I hope you can do something with the answer.

Take care,

vapman

So,

Re: My Black Screen. I torched it some more and It's turned that lovely rainbow colour that @vapman mentioned. Here's a pic as promised:

The only explanation I can imagine is that my torch isn't working ideally and the tightness of the screens weave played some part in trapping the carbon.

I must get back to testing, I've now got my hands on a different type of import (good quality black) and tiny pinch of home made jelly hash. MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm

Thank you for the picture, this helps a lot.
Your screen looks exactly like mine and I think that your screen is as clean it can be, nothing survives the heat of a tourch lighter. It is absolutely normal that your screen doesn`t look like an unheated one,
steel gets all those colors from heating up, they are called the tempering colors and are used as guidelines to estimate the temperature during the steel hardening process. Only polishing (which is not possible on a fine screen) or using highly toxic anti oxidizing liquids would get the screen back into the original state, your screen is perfect for vaporizing concentrates, my guarantee. Thank you.

Sorry for this, the reply should belong to the post above and I don`t know how to correct it.

Me and some friends got the Vapman the other day. My third vape, their first, and we are all in love with it.

It is tiny, beautiful, solid, well thought through and very effective. I'm experimenting a lot with technique, and now I seem to empty the bowl in around five hits. I use the PnP for sessions now, and this for a quick fix. Also, this design is great for use in nature, and I believe this will give me many great outdoor experiences!

Another thing that makes me really happy is the new concentrate screens (we ordered our vapmen right before the screens came out oh no). I like that this is a European vape, because most American vapes I've tried are a pain in the ass to use with real, old school hash - the kind we grew up on. I have been looking for a good way to vape Moroccan and Afghan style hashes etc, and many of my friends first question when I talk about vapes is "yeah allright mr fancy weed man, but can it do real hash?"

So, @vapman I think you have given me the tool to convert my friends to vaping, and also given me the tool to get more into the good old hash again :)

PS I pronounce it VAPPMANN, which makes it sound a lot more exclusive than VAPEMAN haha

I have been playing with my Vapman...playing with the heating times and length of my hits. I have noticed that when i start off per Vapmans instructions i get intense flavor on the first 2 hits, then as i increase the re-heating time on the next few hits i get some nice flavor and lung busting vapor...when i re-heat i torch it for 4-5 seconds. This vape is so simple it is mind boggling. Each person i am sure has their on ritual with it and that is the good thing about this vape. I think the only thing i would want to add to this vape is a longer stem about 6-7 inches would be nice. May have to holla @Ed's TnT to see what he can do.

So just for a broader vote, would you rather have a simple wong? Or a whip rig so you can heat and then set down the vapman on it's base?
I dont mind holding the vapman in my hand durin
Here is a simple tip for when you want a little more visible vapor or a sharper feeling draw. Many of you probably do this already.

When drawing simply drop your index finger down to plug a hole. This changes the character of your draw to be sharper and a little more visible vapor. I do this in my first two draws or when I want to feel it more.

The other benefit is that you do not have to mod or plug holes on your Vapman to get the same effect.

@steama I will be working my magic on it soon and would like to hear anyone's input and ideas. I don't know much about the Vapman but what I was told, need to take some time if I can find some and watch some videos and stop by the site. I hope to be able to have something for you all to look at next week.

@Ed's TnT he is also a member of this forum...he is a very nice guy. Just message him and he will give you the technical details you need, i am sure.

Very cool @steama. Great pics and explanation. This is why I like this forum so much.

As you know, I went from all holes plugged to all three open, After a a couple of months testing.

Then I found that if I cup my hand around the Vapman, I get better vapor and it works like a throttle - the tighter the grip, the better the vapor cloud.

My ring finger holds the base of the Vapman. - I don't think I need to post a pic because your hand will naturally fall into place.

You have to be careful not to burn your fingers with the metal clamps that hold the mouthpiece.

Peace bro.

Away with the fairies
So I've been using my concentrates screen for a couple of days now - and I couldn't be happier with it. I've tried a few different hash varieties - all have vaped perfectly. I'm starting to see a little bit of spent hash collecting in the grooves now - but nothing much at all. The fact that you can remove them for cleaning makes maintenance a cinch. If you're on the fence about these screens - I highly recommend you get off it and take the plunge - they're pretty cheap - but really do transform the Vapman. Is it possible I now love my little fella even more than before!!??

I was thinking of upgrading to a mica version. Can anyone who has used both convince me not to?

:peace:

Do it, Dude, you won't regret it. I have both, the mica is just 'right' with the rest of the design. A heat shield completes that part of the design, and the tiny wood screws and fitting are a trip in and of themselves. My unfinished one hasn't been out if it's shell in ages and ages.......

I ve had my mica for quite a while.there was a noticeable flavour from the mica initially but it has faded.i now sense a mica taste on the odd occasion if I heat the mica too much.i read somewhere that the mica helps with radiating the heat into the vapman similar to the mflb.i heat the tubes on my mica when I think about it.

Saying that I'm itching to try a basic again .i have an old one but one of the gold tubes has dislodged from the bowl.has anyone managed to swage one of the little tubes back into the bowl.it slides through the bowl but I need to figure out how to form the tip of the tube to seal it in the bowl.ive looked at watch swage tools on china sites but haven't seen quite what I need.maybe @vapman can help?
ATM the flame enters around the loose tube and causes a slight combust sometimes in the bowl.

I have found the vapman to be an excellent flash vaporizer too.get the heat right and clouds can be huge.mostly though I heat and tease vapor from mine and enjoy efficiency and flavour.i seem to learn something new using the vapman every time..it takes time and patience.very rewarding though to hit it many different ways. Its versatile and a great conversation piece with whoever notices it.

Nice post steama..tagged...I hadn't seen the second one...will save me searching for vapman porn when the need arises.:):D

Ok, I know I post too much on here... But in my defense, I try not to post unless I think someone may find the info useful.
So here are a couple of pics of my newest Vapman.

I really didn't need it since my all-charred Vapman is still almost like new, but I wanted to try my hand at a nice two-toned charring experiment...

The charred edges didn't turn out as sharp as I wanted, but I think it's good enough.

I think I like the black stem better than the white...

I may give the all-black (stealth black?) Vapman to a friend of mine, but it's just so hard to part with it!

You can't have too many Vapmans, right? That's what I keep telling myself!

So here's some more Vapman porn for ya...
