Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

I received an email from Gotvape. They are selling the Crafty and the Mighty I don't know if they are an authorized vendor? A am seriously thinking of getting a Crafty as a Christmas present to myself. I really am appreciating all the reviews from FCers.

Thanks guys for shelling out big bucks for an unknown portable vaporizer - excellent company but who knows. It's really a crap shoot. I know I didn't want the Plenty. I didn't like the looks, to be honest. Of course what one person likes doesn't necessarily mean that others will like it. We can only go on the research and the opinion of others at this point. I know it's a gamble but I really like it.

As long as I can use my iPhone 5S with the app and somebody said we could. I would want to be able to use several different temps. Just having 2 temps is not appealing to me. Also being able to charge it while using, not that I would do that all the time. It's a feature that I want to have. I wouldn't want to weaken the battery.

Everybody keep up the reviews and thank you for your truthfulness. It's a lot of money to spend. I'm anxious to hear the comments after the honeymoon is over in a few weeks. I want to get the right price too. I'm hoping to get at least 15% off. Maybe an after Thanksgiving sale. I will only shop with an authorized vendor.

I had been thinking of getting the Herbalizer but it's way more expensive. I know they are apples and oranges two different types of vaporizers. I really like portables that are high quality but within my price range.

Yet to pack the oven. Barely cover, potscrubber, 2 big hits, decent third.

Any recommendations for a fitted smell proof bag for walking?
Otter box? Or more reasonably priced option? (For home )

Also, leave charging? (Likely not)

Still can't decide on Crafty or Mighty. 4 or 5 bowls off a charge and lack of smartphone are the only things keeping !e from pulling the trigger. I like the size a lot. Decisions decisions.

Any of these will work. The 1050 wont hold everything. I use a 1120 for a Solo. Charger, 2 stems, and a small container.

The 1050

Edit. It looks like anything from a pelican 1010 or 1015 to a infinite size will work.

I'm loving the crafty, feel great about the purchase, no regrets. I fill up a solo stem and that amount fits perfectly into the crafty. I found if I pack more then that, I get more Vapor leakage from the mouth piece. I think this is a perfect personal vape, I always vape with my wife and we run thru a crafty pretty quick, i would recommend this to anyone who usually smokes alone, I imagine the mighty would be better suited to paired or group sessions. Love love love the Crafty, but a mighty is definitely in my future. I'm really impressed with this vape. Imo, the solo is the best portable, I own Davinci, indica, puffitx, I inhales, pinnacle, flowermate, mflb... All left me searching and wanting. I finally found it in the crafty, replace my solo? Never, I like sitting for 24 minutes before work vaping with the wife, but my portable buying days are over........ Right?

So do you like the Solo better than the Crafty? The price is a lot if the Solo is still your fav portable. I know sometimes it's hard to compare.

CarolKing,
Last night I was considering whether the Crafty was better than the Solo. There are so many fsctors to consider - price, size, flavour, vapor production, portability, etc. I am going to go out on a limb and say the Crafty is better imo so far. More testing is necessary before saying more.

Also about connecting it to a bubbler, I really dont think it is necessary. Peolle will dl it anyway but I think the vapor is cool enough as is.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
PlanetVape will be stocking the Mighty & Crafty along with parts & accessories when the distribution lines catch up. They are an Authorized Distributor as well as an approved resident FC vendor.

Once that happens.... I'm all in on the Crafty

That is good news for international customers. There has to be a better option than the slow boat out of Germany.

Finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered a crafty (paid in full) :brow:. My local vape shop has them coming.
Only thing that held me back from buying from Germany was the shipping cost if I had to return it under warranty.
Could this be the vape that dethrones my Hans solo?
All primary indications point to yes!

Arrives next week. It has been a painful wait.
This will hopefully hold over my VAS until the herbalizer 220v gets released... God that has been a long wait (and still continues to be!).

They're not even in the same league from my perspective. The Crafty blows the Lotus out of the water in nearly every category except for battery life ;)

I keep my Lotus around for no power situations, but other then that, it stays in the drawer.

Ok you all helped me in the past. Roth knows that I am the member with terrible throat issues and just had nodules removed. I own an exhale which I love and have a beautiful recycler to attach to it (shout to poopmachine and doughboy - it was built with a lot of diffusion buts it's huge like the exhale which I need now to cool the vapor)

So here is my question; like the solo can this crafty be paired with a water tool? It's very expensive and like our friend Carol King I may purchase this as a Hannuka present to myself. But I will not buy it unless I can turn it upside down and connect it to some kind hydra tube, recycler etc.

I went on the website but didn't get that much info regarding that aspect. If it can't be adapted aren't I better off with a solo? I'm going to DC this weekend - go DC they just passed a form of recreational - but I am putting these huge pieces in my new knapsack and lugging it on amtrack. I am just starting to do anything and i am venturing back slowly into vaping and edibles (first batch of canna butter looks good) so if it's $140 or $300, I need to care more about my protecting my voice (which this new recycler did)

I can no longer use anything without water filtration (so the pax is officially out of the rotation) and the exhale isn't practical for traveling. I would also have to get some type of mini bubbler. But I don't want to blow this cash unless I can attach.

You guys are so good to me. I'm all droid so I don't know if the apps would matter to me. I need low heat and lots of water.

So any suggestions?

Hi @LongIslandmom, hope I'm not being rude, but it has already been covered twice in this thread and once in the mighty.... But just FYI see below a great post from @JCat.
1/2 inch is measured from outer diameter. I ordered some tubing with my crafty to do the exact same thing until an official one is released.
Also I believe people have previously mentioned it is ok to use at any angle (but probably need confirmation about upside down).
If you are after a mini bubbler to use upright I have the planet vape F-bomb and I love it. Worth every cent.
- 1/2" piece of silicone tubing
- o-ring to go around 1/2" tubing
- 14/18mm reducer that tubing w/ o-ring fits into and creates an airtight seal

It's not rude; there are a lot of posts and I thank you for your quick reply. But tubing it just to attach the device; members is this the only way it can be done?

And then if it is thru a tube it can be upright

Not thru an adapter of any sorts? It seems like it's a lot of trouble to attach a water tool.

Plz be patient with me; I'm new to vaping, I've been out of commission for a long time and anyone who knows me from this site knows that I also apologize for anything posted that might be a tad stupid of me.

And yes, I'm just that stupid with all of this.

LongIslandmom,
Actually I was just thinking long and hard about this issue. These days I vape through water 95% of the time. I think that the Crafty cooling system is almost or even as effective at cooling the vapor. It is very smooth.

Of course some people will still want to use a water path and I may too. IMO a mod needs to be created so the Crafty can connect directly to a water tool without the Crafty cooling system connected. Im pretty sure Ed or VapedandConfused will come up with a wong or gong solution like this.

IMO water cooling in addition to going through the Crafty cooling system is not necessary at all.

This is a relatively new device (2-3 weeks old only) and there are no manufacturer pong adapters, or custom ones at this point in time.
If you are patient I'm sure one will be created sooner or later. There is already huge fanfare for these devices.

The tubing is just forced over the mouthpiece and if you use a 14mm bubbler I don't think you will even need a reducer... Just hold the tube into the 14mm female hole while you hit it.
When I get mine I will confirm if this works without the reducer.
It's pretty simple. Just have to force the tubing over the mouthpiece each time you want to use a bubbler.... Or just leave It connected? Or wait till a proper adapter is released by Storz and bickel, or a more likely case would be a custom one being developed by PV or one of the 3d printer wizards on here who have already made custom adapters for the likes of the indica (can't remember the users name)

I was summoned? Lol, thanks @Mr. Gweilo 420

A WPA for the Crafty looks pretty simple - if I'm not mistaken you guys only need something to fit over that long round mouthpiece correct? I could easily make a vapor-safe Silicone SonG adapter.....

If all you want is something to adapt the round MP to a 14 or 18mm, I simply need someone with digital calipers to measure the outside-diameter of that MP. Could have something whipped up by next week.

Edit - just read the thread a bit more - how would you bypass the "cooling system"? Can you show me a picture of what it looks like without that part attached?

Gwello, a lot of people, including myself, don't pass vapor through water for cooling but rather for moisturizing. (starting' to sound like a Dove commercial....)

Right now, people are simply shoving some whip tubing over the mouthpiece tip. It works, but not a perfect seal since the mouthpiece is oblong.

If you made a piece to connect to the Crafty that bypassed the cooling unit, I think it could be very interesting too. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too complicated either. The cooling unit is the entire top (mouthpiece included) that fits onto the bowl of the Crafty.

Here's a pic showing the two separated:
volcano-crafty-chamber.jpg

If you check out a video online, you can see how they fit together.

So you could have a simple piece that connected to the bowl, but had a whip tubing connector on the other.

Hope this helps some!

Gotcha, thanks! Though I don't think I'd be comfortable being that close to the heat with my silicone (it's RTV silicone, max temperatures are between 400 and 500F, way too close to the operating temperatures of the vape.

However, I still could make an air-tight WPA adapter to slide over the mouthpiece if desired.

Gotcha. Who knows, maybe a new material will be available in 6 months!

I would be interested in an adapter for the mouthpiece still. Not sure how often I'd use it, but would like to have it as an option.

Wish I had bought an extra mouthpiece so I could send it to you for measurements.
