you can buy the orbiter at verdampftnochmal or vapefiend.co.uk. but i don't understand, why magic flight wouldn't grant a lifetime warranty on glass when purchased in 2014 when you buy the orbiter there.

The reason why they only warranty it if bought through them is because the orbiter doesn't have a serial number on it. The only way they have to verify it is by using your order number, which means it has to be purchased directly from Magic Flight.

I have a question(s), this is geared towards everyone.
The maud dib has removable screens that can be replaced, but how does one go about getting the screens since they aren't offered on the site? Surely I can't be the only one to wonder about this?
I shot them an email days ago asking about that but never heard back, I figured I would ask y'all.

if you factor in the import tax, it's only about 4 euros more compared to the price at magic-flight.com. but i, for example, would have to drag myself to the nearest customs office and pay the transportation fees to go there and spend around three-four hours for the whole procedure. they have shitty business hours and they only keep your package for seven days. you missed the date - bye, bye package. and i'm lucky to live in a big city. there aren't customs offices in every little village.:) the other way is to pay the delivery guy 7 euros for the additional paperwork and not going to customs myself. so the prices at the european online stores will end up being more or less the same as ordering from magic flight directly. plus, you have an almost instant gratification when ordering european without having to wait on your order for a couple of weeks. on the other hand, one pays the same price without the added value of the lifetime warranty, which is probably factored in in their pricing somewhere. i love magic flight, but i feel, it's kind of unfair to their european customer base. i'm sure they could have thought a way around relying only on the order number. after all you get complete receipts with the date of purchase in every online shop.

Yes that`s also a reason for buying it in their shop. Prices in that German and UK shop are quite high, because they have to import and pay the tax as well.

I'd send an email to Magic-Flight asking if they have a solution for your situation. It can't hurt, and perhaps they'll let you confirm an Orbiter purchase in some other way.

I have what they call an alpha Muad Dib from their original kava beta test. It's basically your standard LB with the screen removed and replaced by a screen like the one in the Muad Dib, but not by clips so it wasn't intended to be removable. I'm not a regular concentrate user, but occasionally I like to use Alph (the name just came to me) and the PA. One of the concentrates I have is extra sticky, and the last time I tried to load Alph it caused me to pull the screen away from the rod a little :cuss:, after which Alph would barely get warm.

Alpha units aren't covered by warranty of course, but it looked to me that a Muad Dib replacement screen would work, so I used the contact form on their website and asked whether that would work. I got an immediate reply (mahalo Hobbit) saying that should work and would I like a screen to try it?

The screen arrived today. It was a bit traumatic pulling the old screen out of Alph but it was gratifying to see how nicely the new screen clipped in. All I did was pull the screen off with tweezers and clean the rails with a Q-tip dipped in ISO. The new screen works like a champ  which brings me to...

Anyone using the orbiter yet? Love my MFLB so much I was going to buy the whip adapter to use with a Pinnacle water tool but think the orbiter would be a better bet any feedback? Thanks!

The Orbiter is my favourite way to enjoy Alph. Just as I'm not a concentrate guy, I'm not much of a water filtration guy, but I've used my Orbiter quite a bit. I'd say the LB is probably the vapourizer I use least with it though. The Orbiter works well with the LB, but I prefer my buds unfiltered. Concentrates are a lot harsher and that's where the Orbiter comes in. Mostly I use the Dabbler with it, but sometimes I feel the urge to give Alph a whirl.

Just one caution. I've never tried a PWT so I don't know how much drag there is, but I can tell you that the Orbiter does have a fairly restricted flow.

actually, this was an answer i kind of expected from them, given the good reputation for their customer support and the positive personal experience most of us had in dealing with them. awesome company and great people indeed!

I'm not really shocked, magic flight is such an awesome company! Great people!

here is their reply :)

"Thanks for reaching out to us here at Magic-Flight. We’ll honor the warranty, no matter where you purchase the Orbiter from. Feel free to order locally if that is easier for you, and you can breath easy knowing we’ve got you covered."

Think that might be my christmas present sorted

Does that MF club membership give any discount on regular MF stuff? Still want an Orbiter, but they`re not for sale in Europe and i discovered:ugh: that buying stuff in the States seems cheap till you receive the package $$$

I checked and the Orbiter is not for sale in the Connoisseur's Club. Basically they just sell bare boxes for people that have already bought a box that came with the accessories kit who want to collect boxes. So it's pretty much all boxes for sale there and then the Kava Concentrate Oil that's been marked down significantly in price.

EDIT: Bare boxes cost significantly less by the way. The Maud-Dib is also sold as a bare box from the club as well. That's where I ordered mine from at the cost of $119 plus $6 for two-day shipping (not sure if this is because of how much money I spent or if it's a perk of being a club member to get shipping at that speed for six bucks), and I bought some Kava Oil Concentrate for $19 as opposed to $29, but they also sent me a second one for free, which I believe they send out with all Maud-Dib purchases).

The reason why they only warranty it if bought through them is because the orbiter doesn't have a serial number on it. The only way they have to verify it is by using your order number, which means it has to be purchased directly from Magic Flight.

I just received my Noir Maud-Dib today! (I'm SO stoked)! So basically, I can't answer your question, but I wanted to say that I finally got mine seeing as how I'm dancing around like twinkle toes with ecstatic happiness, lol.

___________________________________________________________

So I finally took some pics of my massive MF products collection after some people on Reddit wanted to see it. I decided to post it here, too, lol - it's kind of amusing how much stuff someone can have. Anyway, what's in this picture is:

my Maple Reddit Pineapple Laser Etch box, a Cherry Infinity Wing Laser Etch box, a Noir Maud-Dib box, an Orbiter, a PA 2.0, Nano Grinder, Finishing Grinder, Water Pipe Adapter, Water Pipe Whip, 1.5ft Silicone Draw Whip, a Maple Wood Stem, two Cherry Wood Stems, a Walnut Wood Dart Stem, Lanyard, black Velvet Bag, Glass ABV Container, Battery Case, two Chargers, four Glyph Batteries, six Glyph battery caps, two Acrylic Stems, two Cleaning Brushes, Tweezers, Car Adapter, Travel Elastics, two Felt Lined Tins, Concentrate Trays, Kava Oil Concentrate, Sweetly Calming Herbal Blend, Balancing Bleus Herbal Blend, The Tiny Book of Essential Wisdom by Forrest Landry, The Effective Choice by Forrest Landry, An Immanent Metaphysics by Forrest Landry, 1.5 ft Black Draw Whip, Loading Spoon, and Velvet Storage Bag.

A bunch of this stuff is in the black tins, so if you're trying to see something specific and can't figure out where it is, just ask me and I'll tell you where it is or take a pic to show it if it's in the tin box right now.

@Staff - the Edit button in the above post is gone now, so I'm unable to combine these posts to avoid back-to-back. Isn't it okay to make a new post if the edit option is gone and it's been six hours since your last post?

mod note: Yes.

Anyway, my Noir Maud-Dib arrived today and I have yet to use it. I wasn't going to use the Orbiter - I was just going to take the hit right from the box up through the draw whip. Anyway, I don't have any hash or wax right now, but I do have Kava Oil Concentrate. I LOVE Kava! (Hence my screen name). Is there anything I should know before my first attempt? Also, what's up with the door being so hard to open and the spring thingy that locks the MD in place over several indentations that it slides into as you're opening it? Sorry, I wish I could explain what I'm talking about better - basically, why is it so hard to open the sliding door as compared to the regular LB?

Thanks Axakal for sending them an e-mail and posting the reply. So, if i get this right, i could buy an Orbiter in a German webshop (will arrive in 2 days, no tax stuff:tup:) and the Orbiter and the glass have full warranty by MF?

Nope. You HAVE to order it from sales.magic-flight.com in order to get the warranty. They don't have serial numbers like the boxes. ALSO, only the ones bought by the end of 2014 will have the lifetime functional warranty - after that, you get warranty on the glass, but if you break the unit itself, it's a $20 repair fee. Best to just order it from sales.magic-flight.com before the end of 2014 in my opinion.

:( Ok, problem is that importing goods from the US to Europe is really very expensive. From the reply that Axakal got on his e-mail, i understood that it does not matter to MF i you buy locally or in their own shop. I thought that if i would buy one in Europe and keep the receipt to prove that i bought it before 2015; it would be fine.

here is their reply :)

Write them yourself first so that you have an email stating the same thing that they addressed to you personally. That way, if it becomes an issue in the future, you can prove that they made that agreement with you in writing (email is the same as writing in USA Civil Courts by the way)...

EDIT: And save the email of course. In your inbox and as a printout copy

I've bought the MFLB yesterday. I think I can get it in the end of the next week :)

Can I use instead of rubbing alcohol cheap vodka? Because I want to keep my Box clean, but I don't want to inhale rests of the rubbing alcohol (especially when I use it to get the resin of the stem back).

Cleaning the box with any form of alcohol should be a rare event. If you do it, you should use alcohol with the lowest percentage of water. Vodka has more water than any form of rubbing alcohol.

You certainly don't want to inhale the vapour of any alcohol, but alcohol is highly volatile and disappears quickly. If you heat up the LB after you clean it but before you use it, any trace of alcohol will be gone.

I mainly want to use the vodka to clean the stem with a Q-tip, and vape the cotton of the Q-tip with the resin of the stem. Cleaning the box itself should be no problem with isopropyl alcohol. What happens, when I vape the very small amount of (rest) vodka in the cotton? I think it will be a lot safer, than vaping rests of the shitty rubbing alcohol. If it tastes like shit, but is not bad for health, it's okay, because I will try to let it dry every time. Only in worst case, it shouldn't be a problem for my health (that's why I don't want to use isopropyl alcohol or methanol for this).

Once it's dry there is no remnant of the alcohol. Vodka will take a lot longer than ISO to dry out because it contains so much more water.
