The 2014 election is less than a week away, and 4 ballot initiatives are up for a vote. Three are for legalization: Alaska, Oregon, Washington DC, and one for medical...Florida. I've been keeping a pretty close watch on the polls in all of those contests and have some predictions. Which do you think will pass and which will be defeated? Here are my predictions:

Alaska (legalization): WILL PASS

Florida (medical): WILL LOSE

Oregon (legalization): WILL LOSE

Washington DC (legalization): WILL PASS

This is a much less rosy forecast than I would have given several months ago, but IMHO, 2016 not 2014, will be the time for Florida and Oregon, among others.

Alaska Legal - Pass

Florida Medical - Lose

Oregon Legal - Pass

WA DC Legal - Pass
I agree with this,
with the qualifier that wa dc is probably rigged to lose so not sure how to go in the poll:lmao:

But seriously florida is such a weird place how does anything get 60% it's just medicine:rant:!

Alaska is also far from a sure thing unfortunately, fingers crossed

Also did oregon go too far with the language, is that why it's so close?
That's what alaska did last time around :disgust:

Polls...

The language of Oregon's legalization initiative is VERY liberal. That's why I predicted it will fail.

Vamos a ver. We shall see. I live within site of the Portland West Hills, and I'm inundated by election media. Media has been very persuasive and pervasive. A lot of money is being spent on the pro side: it can't all be coming from in-state. While much of Oregon has very conservative areas, the liberal cities and college towns have a greater percentage of the population.

It's a fun election to root for. If it passes, it might be worth it to rent out my house in Vancouver, and go live in Oregon where one will be able to have 8 ounces and 4 plants at any one time. I just checked - yeah, very close... maybe time to pray. "I promise I'll be good, if you only let the Oregon Law go into effect. I promise not to tease the Conservatives or call them names. Amen."

I was wondering where that was coming from. Its going to pass is my prediction. This state is very liberal. Heck most of law enforcement is behind it. The only holdouts are uninformed, nervous soccer moms and the psychotic brainwashed control freaks.

Summoning the power cosmic to send out winning vibes to all of our states with something canna related(I know Colo and Cali have some issues on the ballots in their states too, even though they already have it damn good, lol). I hope we ALL our happy come this Nov 4th evening.

A few last minute thoughts...

It looks like Oregon may very well vote yes after all. Not in the bag yet, but looking good. When I voted today in Illinois, there was a cannabis related issue on the ballot. Wasn't expecting that. It had to do with municipalities in Illinois being able to issue their own regulations about the location of dispensaries.

One more thought. If the turnout of the early vote in Florida was heavy enough, Amendment 2 could stand a chance. Still feeling pessimistic though. Seems like a long shot. :ugh:

HIGH TIMES Predicts Marijuana Election Night 2014 . . .

http://www.hightimes.com/read/high-times-predicts-marijuana-election-night-2014?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed: HIGHTIMESMagazine (HIGH TIMES Magazine)

"Oregon Measure 91 (Legalization with Markets): Oregon tried legalizing in 2012 and flopped miserably with 46 percent of the vote. This time, however, the effort to legalize this time has better language, more endorsements, stronger supporters, professional campaigners and most important, a large stash of millions in cash to run campaign ads. The opposition banked less than $200,000, almost all of it from police associations, and stumbled horribly in the only televised debate when their medical expert claimed “five young infant children have died” from eating cannabis edibles in Colorado as the TV station ran his retraction in a graphic below him. Two of the three most recent polls put support at 52 percent versus opposition at 41 percent, while a poll showing 44 percent to 46 percent was over-reliant on older voters. Turn-out is the key, but with younger voters attracted by the marijuana issue and the GMO labeling measure on the ballot, we believe we’ll be live-streaming from America’s third legal marijuana state tonight. Prediction: PASS 54 percent."
