Looking at how the glass bamboo breaks, they can determine whether it was a result of impact, or the heater being wrapped too tightly.

I just got my Evo back from being repaired. I had a runaway heater on a couple of occasions and it finally caused the glass to crack. I was warned I could be charged if they determined it was damaged and not defective, but I was not charged and it was returned to me very quickly as good as new. Im very happy with the quality of service.
Many thanks for the info. I'm sending mine in today and feel a LOT better about it after your replies.

Switched on my EVO this morning and something which i've never seen happened. It lit up red so i thought all was good and it was heating up. Come back 10 minutes later and the red light is now flashing, no green light with it, just the red light, and the EVO is still cold. Switched it off and back on and it repeated this action once again. Switched it off, left it a few minutes, turned it back on, and now its back to normal. I checked the bamboo for cracks and dont find any, its not combusting, seems to working normal. Anyone seen this happen before?
This is one of the issues I'm having, too. I've asked Vapexhale to take a look when they service my unit, so I'll let you know what they find. Since the problem is intermittent, one thing you might want to do is take a cell phone video the next time it happens.

If it flashes red like that, usually its because there are weird temperature issues going on that has the unit confused.

Setting the dial at noon when you turn it on is supposed to zero that out. Ive had it happen to me a few times too.

Makes sense. Its happened the past 2 days now and both days i left the window open overnight to wake up to a cold room. I'll try leaving it at noon when i power up tomorrow morn.

Like @PoopMachine said, it is most likely related to a the temperature of the EVO itself. Let it warm up a bit, set the dial to noon, and you should be good to go.

The only time my EVO has done that, is when it was delivered. It was sitting outside on my doorstep for several hours.

Link shows "Max continuous power is 100 watts"

Curious, I plugged the EVO into my kill-a-watt meter and it's a damned-near constant 100watts all the way up to when it first hits green. You can then watch it slowly reel it into about 10 watts over the next 20 seconds, then bounces between 0-10 watts as it maintains, but then after about 40 seconds, it goes back up in the 30 watt range for another three-four minutes, then back to the 0-10 cycle. (I'm thinking that during the initial warm-up, we're getting temp bounces as we slowly heat up the mass which "tricks" it a bit, but after warm-up/heat-soak it's a non-issue - perhaps also something that contributes to the "cold start" problem? It gets the local temp reading showing hot, but never hits the heat curve required to raise the mass temp? DSP logic!)

So... EVO is taking 100 watts continuous at start-up - the adapter that was linked is rated at 100 watts continuous MAX (current rating verifies that it's RMS). You're going to be on the edge, relying on "manufacturer tolerance" to ensure the two can be safely paired.

I do like the form factor that has (most of the bigger units look like car stereo amplifiers with a plug adapter that are large enough they have to "sit somewhere"). That may be worth the "risk", but definitely a weak-link in your power chain.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone knows about a EVO 220V version? I've seen some companies online selling them in Europe but I think they are only available in 110V which I'm not keen on using with an adapter. I've heard VapeXhale has a 220V unit in the works anyone know when it will be available? I was looking at an Extreme Q but would rather wait on this if its going to be available soon!

Follow this thread for any and all updates on the 220V version. Last update from SM55 was that they're still testing to replicate and squash the bug. Probably best to go with the EQ for now and sell it when the EVO is released if you feel the need to upgrade. Unless you're willing to wait a few months, though it could be longer than that (I'm totally speculating here since nobody knows for sure).

Has anyone here had a crack in their the Bamboo ?

Any issues ?

Have a look over the last few pages, lots of bamboo crack talk ;)

I just recently received a Swagger Turbine from Vapexhale. Has anyone here received a tube from them that looks like it was vaporized out of, cleaned but not cleaned thoroughly enough and then sent out to the customer. I received a turbine on Friday that was covered with specs of residual vapor. Vapexhale is claiming that it is "tiny fragments of glass" even though they have an amber/brown color? Thanks FC!

They should offer a discount on "demo" items that are supported but clearly not brand new :2c:

Color aside, why would there be "tiny fragments of glass" in your recycler - or any new piece that was not damaged?

There shouldn't be any glass fragments in the air path... leading to your lungs... that wasn't a very good (or smart) thing to say on their behalf.

I know! Either way it really isn't good. They are doing their part trying to take of it, I just don't appreciate them telling me it isn't vapor residual when to me it clearly is. I never asked for anything, just wondering how something like this might happen.

Yeah who knows. No worries, though. I'm moving on. I will say that the turbine is great. Definitely my favorite out of that, the circ and tree perc HydraTubes.

Lately my favorite way to enjoy the evo is with the hydratube empty. I have a dry mouthpiece but it's not nearly as pleasant. I think the added mass of the hydratube cools the vapor a bit more leading to much smoother vapor without any flavor loss from the water.

It's especially nice when using the vxn!
I mostly use a hydracirc. I imagine those with the showercap won't notice as big of a difference in flavor without the water.

Alright, im having a major issue with my vapexnail, can anyone chime in. Temp from 12 to 2. I fill it with a small rice grain size of oil. sit it in the vape, wait a few seconds for vapor to rise up, then start hitting it with the hydratube. So after the first hit obviously there is more but I dont inhale it. Some people take the second hit i hear but i take big hits and I feel I get my moneys worth with one hit, not to mention its all I need. But after that one hit about half the time I stop seeing any vapor rise from the nail, I take it out and bam the vapexhale is smoking out oil. its as if the oil falls under the vapexnail and down the bamboo. I see vapor coming out the bottom and recently there was a glob of oil dripping out the bottom of my bamboo.

So how is oil getting under the vapexnail? Is it caused by user error? Reason I am asking is with the same exact technique this will only happen sometimes? I know the vapexhale will burn it off but I still worry and it is dirtying up the tube, in fact recently I could tell there was restriction from the oil inside the bamboo when vaping ELBs. Also it seems to take like an hour for the nail to vape off completely, which is ridiculous cuz I can only take 1 dab at a time?

Is this normal vapexnail procedure?

lately i've been using the showercap with no water. i originally ditched the water cuz i cant find the perfect water level to use that it doesnt cause a little chug in the pull. I've been enjoying the full flavor of flowers with it at 12 o clock on the dial so I dont plan on going back to water for awhile.

Alright its been comfirmed, about 50 percent of the time I use the vapexnail, it causes the VXC to turn red(off). Not as in it cools it down for a second, half way through the hit thevxc goes cooler and never reheats until switched on then off. Ive noticed it seems to be the vape getting cool causing the oil to no longer rise and start going downward. This probably sounds crazy but what could it be. I'm scared to use the vxn because almost every hit now the remains end up under the nail smoking for an hour.

Also since day 1 with my evo everytime I turn iot on for the first time in the day it goes red but then strats blinking and shuts off after about 20-30 seconds. So every day I want to use my evo I have to switch it on then wait a second then back off, then repeat to be sure it will actually preheat. SO many times I have switched it on just to come back in 10 minutes and its magically off. So these two problems combined i am starting to think something is wrong with my unit, I will make asupport ticket. I am just asking here because I want feedback on if I am using the nail wrong.

The reason I still use the nail is because it does give a great hit, but then the oil ends up dripping under it half the time.

It definitely sounds like you have a defective unit, but here are a couple of other observations- Is the unit exposed to cold air or a draft? If the unit gets too cold it can cause an issue during power on like you describe. I've heard setting the dial to 12 o'clock can help with this.

How would you describe the amount you're loading with the VXN? It sounds like you may be loading too much material. Is the material getting stuck to the sides or anything when you load it? it should be in the very bottom of the VXN. Some people around here actually turn the unit off completely just before dropping the nail in, so while I do believe you have a defective unit, I'm not so sure the defect is the reason you are getting wax on the bottom of the nail. What heat setting are you using with the vxn? How long do you let the nail and material heat up before you start to draw? I still haven't perfected my vxn technique, but I typically set the dial to 12 and wait 5-10 seconds after dropping the nail in before I draw.

I am by a window with a cold draft, so that could be it, and it seems to mainly have the power on issue in the cold morning.

With the vxn I am loading normal amounts, at the bottom, nothing too big. I wait like 5 seconds then inhale slowly. After I clear it I see the oil slowly milk up in the nail then start going downward and vapor is coming out the bottom of the bamboo. At this point I'm like wtf and remove the nail to see a huge cloud 9f vapor come out from under the naIL and now start vaping off. This happens almost every single hit.

Only observation i made is it seems the vape is going red and the cool down of this is why the vapor is starting to fall. But how does the oil get under the nail anyway is my question lol?
