1. Micro usb charger please!
That really would make the indica battery woe free! its great that it uses a standard USB mini charger, but i always have a micro usb charger in the car and on my portable power bank.
2. Status lights
I think that the led lights should blink when the indica is heating to temperature and then should hold constant. currently it is constant when heating and then blinks a few times once it has reached the temperature as an indication and then constant again, making it quiet easy to miss the blinking indicating it has reached temperature. considering the indica is quite stealthy, it defeats that purpose if one has to watch for the blinks, no?
1) You can buy those phone charger banks, which mostly use USB ports. I always take one with me if I'm going to be away from a power source for a while.

2) Couldn't agree more with this one! I like to leave it closed in my pocket when it's warming up, so spotting the blinking light for me isn't easy...

Just ordered a glow in the dark loading tool from Ratchett, although I may not be able to use it until Sunday :( I'll post pictures if anyone wants.

Hey all!

Thanks for your interest in the Indica Funnel! It's popularity has inspired me to create another frequently requested accessory.....

This past Sunday night in a sugar-overdosed stupor, I whipped up an 18mm WPA for the Indica! This part is printed as a mold which I'll then cast part with safe non-toxic aquarium-grade silicon which is vapor-safe. Once cured, the silicon will not affect the taste of the vapor whatsoever.

Here's the current 3D render of the finished WPA:
JTGpxRP.png

Late last night, I 3D printed a prototype mold, unfortunately I didn't notice that I fucked up the 18mm WPA side (applied a "wrap" algorithm to the wrong portion of the model).

None the less, Here's my first prototype silicon results:
ANuT2Nx.jpg

7wBKL9A.jpg

(As you can see - the taper on the 18mm male side is way too gradual) - I'm currently printing a revised mold tonight and vapor polishing it before bed. Hopefully I can cast a piece tomorrow morning before work so It's ready for test-fitting by the time I get home from work

Sadly I won't be able to test the piece for several days, I'd prefer to let the silicon fully cure before testing something directly in the vapor path like this.....

What do ya'll think??

Awesome I thought ed was taking care of this but he only posted a wooden mouthpiece I believe. I'm extremely interested in a gong/pong/wong. I've already started using my solo less, alot less. I constructed a cheap silicone pong like @Vape Dr. I hope somebody makes a rigid one as I wasn't too impressed.

its seems like my indica isnt heating up. I dialled the temperature to the red setting and my indica shows a steady light, but there is no heat and hence no vapour production. im at work so i couldnt investigate further but has anyone else had a similar issue?

That's awesome @Ratchett!
Are you going to be making a 14mm version as well?

I'm sure it's possible

I forgot to mention, this piece is designed to slide over the mouthpiece. Should be easy to install/remove. I should have new pictures of revision2 tomorrow.
Very nice @Ratchett! I want to use my F-bomb with the Indica!
Is the WPA attachment going to have a key chain attachment too? Maybe a magnetic quick disconnect if that's possible?
I'll soon have more @Ratchett accessories on my key chain than keys!
Keep up the great work my friend!
Can't wait to get my hands on one!

Hey all

I wanted to let you know the Indica funnel is finally available on my Etsy Store!
https://www.etsy.com/listing/207312287/indica-vaporizer-loading-funnel

Also, I vapor polished my revised Indica WPA mold last night and cast the first part this morning. Can't wait to open the mold tonight and get some pictures of the how it fits.

Thank you all for the support, I've never been so motivated to invent like I have in these past few months!

Been using my new Indica the last few days and am loving it. Most of my vaping experience is via a mflb and while that little thing is fun, this is just another level completely. So easy to use and absurdly portable. I'm traveling a ton so the mini-usb is a huge plus, makes powerbank/car-charging a breeze. Looks like my only real gripe has already been addressed with that little loading funnel too, as soon as (or if?) you get a 14mm WPA up for sale I will definitely be needing a few of each :D

Hey guys, a quick heads up and apology to any and all affected. Our magento software system had a data loss between the 27th of October and the 30th. We just put our fingers on it and are finding who has not been shipped. I wish this hadn't happened and I know how much each of you are excited to receive your "Noir". All orders before an d after are fine, it's those day's specifically that we're resurrecting.

I'll make amends to those who have anguished and will ensure there are failsafes to avoid having this situation repeat again.

Additionally, the discount code was mistakenly taken down on the 31st and is back up, but only for a limited time. I want to get the international shipment component back in place first and allow those patiently waiting oversees the opportunity to save some money.

Tonight I'm in Portland Oregon, awaiting the outcome of Measure 91. Indica is playing an active roll now in this political football. Currently it's too close to tell, but if it should pass, this will be a landmark decision for all of us as active forum members and citizens of the United States.

Again my apologies for picking up on this so late and promise to those anguished that I will compensate in some way that is mutually acceptable.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble @Indica Vaporizer ! You're having no luck with that system! My work's store platform is closing next year (Prostores) and I need to migrate the entire company store to a new platform (......and update linked marketing sites, and update the database integration, and so on and so forth. Sigh). I feel your pain, took me years to get shipping rates properly calibrated. Then once we did, we got an email that Prostores is shutting down February 2015! :bang:

On a brighter note, here's revision two of the 18mm Indica WPA (Since it's Silicone, it'd be a SonG right?) - Working MUCH better. And the Vapor polish looks great! Hopefully I can get this listed on my store in the near future:

Can't wait to start using this accessory. Next I'll work on that 14mm version so we can try the Indica with a PNWT, I think that will be a winning combo

Incredible @Ratchett !! I will absolutely be in for an 18mn the moment they're available, been waiting a long time for this. Always thought it would be a SonG for the indica someday, but thought it would be steel like the mouthpiece. Excited to try this, I'm sure Ed will crack it eventually too so we'll have some variety with a WonG option.

Things are finally really starting to take off and its wonderful to see. And experience, as the Noir is a little powerhouse. Agree with most everything mentioned earlier unsurprisingly. The new oven cooks even stronger, I can get sizeable clouds on cyan now. The downside of that is I think bowls don't last quite as long as the original, but for many that is a good thing actually. You can finish the average .2g load in 2-3 sessions, which is pretty perfect for most situations.

I also often have to shutoff before 10min on higher temps when alone, bc the conduction can be harsh with such a short path (hence the desire for the SonG!), but the low temps are fine and tasty. I also don't use the silicone cap, not too warm for me, but I've had others who felt it was, so its nice to have the option. Need to get some coconut milk though! All the black matte coating is very nice and super stealth (used it hidden in my hand while literally walking by people in the streets on Halloween) and I think it even helps with some of the exterior heat as a bonus benefit.

All in all after having/loving one of the original production units from April, this is still the best conduction vape ive ever used (and also my favorite portable in many ways), now made even better, and other people are finally starting to realize it for themselves. Much continued success and development ahead!

I need to step up and send out a shout to the state of Oregon. Thank you for being such great supporters and so willing to take chances, making our country more real and progressive.

Hell yeah. Oregonian here and I'm super excited about our new law. Too bad the liquor commission has all the way until 2016 to implement the law. No sales tax and the tax on flowers is only $35 per ounce (a fraction of what other recreational states are charging), equaling more realistic prices for consumers. The stores over in Vancouver Washington charging $64 for 2 grams are going to go out of business when Oregon shops open up charging less than half that.

I have a 2014 Subaru hybrid with a built in USB charger and even using the cord that came with the indica it does not charge the indica. I also have a portable USB charger made by Anker that works fine for my smartphone and Jambox portable speaker, but will not charge the indica.

Does anyone know of a portable USB charger that will charge the indica? I've had to resort to using my old cigarette lighter invertor, that turns the cars cigarette lighter into an AC outlet. I'd love to have something more portable that works with the indica. I guess my cars built in USB and my Anker USB portable aren't putting out enough current to charge the indica.

When I plugged the indica into the cars USB using the wire included with the indica the light on the indica showed it was charging, but when I went to use the indica it hadn't charged at all. When I plugged the indica into my portable USB charger using the wire included with the indica the light showing that the indica is charging didn't even light up.

You need to check on the amperage output of the USB outlets. It sounds like the outlet in your car is a 1000mAh (1 amp). This is pretty much the lowest you can go (there are some 0.5amp output, but these really aren't common anymore). The USB charger included with the indica is 1500mAh (1.5amp).

While 1000mAh will charge your Indica, it will do it VERY slowly (my first charge took over 12 hours, because I was using a 1amp usb outlet by mistake!). I recently shopped around and purchased a 6000mA PowerBank which features a 2.1amp output and boy does it charge my phone and indica with no problem!

Long story short, I doubt you can really use that USB outlet in your Subaru to charge the Indica, but you can use it "top off" the Indica batteries between sessions.

Looks like I'm in the market for a powerbank this Christmas. Something small enough to fit in my backpack, but capable of charging the indica.

Thanks for the responses.

Hi fellow vaporists (is that it?). I've had my Indica Noir for almost 2 weeks now. Overall, I really like the device. Unfortunately, as of today, after 10 or 11 days of moderate to heavy use, my Indica Noir no longer heats up. I just shot Mike a message, and hopefully he can help me out. Anyway, I figure I should write somewhat of a review of the device, trying to ignore this malfunction.

To start, things didn't go too well. However, this was all cleared up after a conversation with Mike and reading posts in this thread. Originally ordered this with 2nd day air, it got sent by normal ground delivery. I now know this is because of some glitches with their software. So I wouldn't worry too much about this if you're thinking of ordering, as the problem should be cleared up by now. Tried to contact customer support through phone and email, got no responses. Talked to Mike, he pretty much instantly took care of my issues. Mike was great to work with. I'd say customer support was not great to work with, but as I got no responses, I didn't get to work with them.

Never wrote a vaporizer review before, but I hope this can help some potential shoppers out, so here we go...

Flavor:
Initially, there was the typical "robot fart" taste. The silicone mouthpiece also gave off a silicone taste for the first few sessions. I never felt that silicone had a bad taste, but it was distracting. These two tastes went away quick enough that they really don't detract from the Indica at all. The lower temperature settings, cyan, blue, and green, all produce vapor which has a very pleasant taste. You can definitely get a clean taste of your herb at these temperatures. At the purple and red temperature settings the vapor has a more "roasted" flavor to it. All the different strains of herb I used would taste the same at these high temperatures. I let some seasoned smoking veterans try it out, and they were all put off by the taste at the highest temperatures. They liked the flavor of the lower temperatures just as much as anything else. I personally don't mind the roasted taste and use the highest two settings almost exclusively when using it solo.

Vapor: I was very surprised and pleased with how big of clouds were produced at the red and purple temp settings. Cyan and blue gave barely any visible vapor if you could see any at all. This is not to say that it did not produce vapor, just that when you exhale, you don't really see it. The vapor from the green setting was definitely sufficient and easy to handle. However, perhaps because I'm more used to smoking, I desired bigger clouds. Purple and, especially, red settings could produce clouds as thick as if you were smoking something rolled up. I get more vapor from the Indica at the highest settings than I ever got from using a Pax or a G-Pen (wax vaporizer). I'm surprised at how cool the vapor is, considering how small and warm the device itself gets. Even at the highest setting the vapor is cool enough to not irritate your throat much, but the vapor density can still make you choke.

Build: I've shown the Indica to quite a few people and many of them, mainly the younger people, weren't really a fan of the fact that it looks like a giant Zippo. Then I showed them how the Solo and Ascent and MFLB and other vaporizers look and they all agree that this looks much better and much more presentable. The older crowd that I showed it to actually liked the design, especially because nobody would ever guess what it is if used in public. Only the Pax I would say looks better, albeit less discreet. I love the fact that it feels like a hefty, sturdy, hunk of metal. It doesn't feel fragile and I'm not afraid if it gets bumped around a bit. No glass stems to worry about breaking either. The hinged cap is a nice way to keep the mouthpiece clean when transporting it, and it looks nice and functions well. However, when you're actually vaping, the cap sticks out of your hand and actually detracts from the stealthiness a little bit. The cap would be great if it could somehow be fabricated it so that you could store your pick/spacers/herb/whatever else in the cap. Charging through USB is great and convenient, though making it micro USB instead of mini may be an improvement, I'm not quite sure what the advantage of mini over micro is, if there any. The oven seems to get vaped herb stuck in the bottom corners of it and is hard to get fully cleaned, but getting it mostly clean is pretty easy. Loading the oven isn't too bad, but the nooks where the door latches on gets herb stuck in it. You kind of have to pour herb it, push it all into the oven and pack it down a bit with either the included pick or a spacer and then pour more in and rinse and repeat until you have your desired amount. Ratchet's loading funnel looks awesome and I was about to order one, just looking at the design, I can tell it would make things much easier. Last, but certainly not least, the oven size is fantastic. I think if you grind finely enough and pack tightly enough, you might be able to fit a whole gram. Granted, doing this will make it extremely difficult to draw from and I wouldn't recommend it, but it does seem possible.

Battery Life: The battery lasts as advertised. I've never had the battery run out before I was either done using it or able to get it to a charger. As the device turns off in 10 minutes, you essentially can get sessions out of it. However, perhaps this was a sign of my device being faulty, when the battery gets low, it doesn't seem to reach the proper temperatures and the vapor quality/density goes down. Luckily it can be used while charging, if you are careful where you put your fingers (that oven door can get really hot while used while charging). You'll go through multiple ovens before needing a recharge.

Other: The accessories bag that came with the Indica is great. Gets you started with some pipecleaners to keep things clean. More than enough spacers so that you can pack any amount of herb you want and/or replace lost spacers. The metal brush it came with doesn't appear to clean the oven too well. The pick might be better at that. The place where you would really want to scrub with the brush, the bottom corners, unfortunately can't be reached by the metal brush. How to properly use the screens isn't the most obvious or the most easy thing, but luckily they're not needed, which makes them a nice inclusion. I'd suggest to include the instructions one user posted on these forums about molding it around two spacers. The wooden box and how neatly everything was packaged inside of the box was a very nice touch. It's good as a box to stash your stuff in. While not mentioned by too many other people, a nice little carrying pouch is included. I definitely recommend this to be used during transportation, because the Indica Noir does get scratched pretty easily.
