Hey JD and NOOnan
My PA also ran cool and the tighten the button fix did the job.
At first I made it too tight and- as Noonan pointed out- the damn thing
got stuck in the on position, so I had to back it off a bit to loosen it up
again. It's now back to normal.
I had the chance to visit another MFLB friend and I brought over the PA.
I was using the same 80% setting that I always used, but on his box
this proved way too hot. I was too nice  to let it combust, and had to
pull on the stem very hard to bring temps back . I almost switched boxes
on him 'cause I liked the way that shit heated up. I now see that different
boxes run differently. Way back in this thread, around Sept., a poster
derided our box saying it was impossible not to combust with it. I now
see how a noobie could have this happen.

Do you guys leave your PA plugged in? I leave it plugged in when I am home and using it.. But if I'm going to sleep or leaving the house and not bringing it- I unplug it. I worry about it sometimes- no reason why.

It stays plugged in. I only unplug it when its going out with me

I have noticed my PA has a little bit of a grounding issue. I don't necessarily get shocked, but I can feel the 1.2v~ when I touch any of the metal on it, when it is not engaged. It shouldn't be an outlet issue since it happens on any outlet I use. I really don't mind, but if my fingers are damp from sweat or water it is a bit annoying. Really a non issue since it is operationally perfect. If it wasn't designed to avoid customers taking a peek inside, I could probably find and fix the issue myself. Anyone else encounter this? I'm sure it's just a solder issue.

What do you guys do with you ABV bud, my buddy who told me about the MFLB told me he smoked it. He said his weed was brown after vaping it but in my experience it was closer to black...is this normal and could i still smoke it after even though its black

Cooking with it is really the way to go. It really works great

Edit: I didn't see that you said it was black. Don't vape it that much and you can do shit with it :)

Hey guys! I'm taking a tolerance week starting tomorrow, ^.^ well... we'll see if I can make it through tomorrow at least :p. One day is better than none, right?

Anyway! I was just wondering about the batteries, actually. How fast do they lose their life? If I were to charge them today and say go all week without using them would I have to charge them again on friday?

It's just mere curiosity, I would imagine they will have lost some life but probably nothing too significant...

What do you guys use to clean the plastic sliding cover? I have used isopropanol, but when I do the cover develops a crack. I can still use it, but I can't afford to have it crack any further!

I use toothpaste. See:

If those are the batteries that came with your LB (MaHa Imedions) or any other LSD batteries, you will not lose any significant charge. If they are HSD batteries of any brand then they will lose significant charge over a week , and should probably be charged again.

If you're not sure whether you have LSD or HSD batteries, remember that LSD batteries are sold pre-charged, HSD batteries are not.

And yet, the Sanyo chargers that come pre-packed with Eneloops only charge their batteries at .15c, and I sure haven\\\\\\\'t heard of ANY dangerous situations happening with their chargers.

Just for the record that is incorrect. Look it up yourself here http://us.sanyo.com/Battery-Products/2-Position-Quick-Charger-Set

It charges at .29C and is purposefully designed to charge only eneloops. The BC-700 and C9000 are universal chargers designed to charge 100s of different manufactures battery types. This is not the thread to go into details, you can do that at any battery forum.

Just suffice to say the BC-700 should not be recommended to anyone looking to upgrade their chargers from the one that comes with their LB as it has no advantage. Even the battery reconditioning mode sucks ass on the BC-700 as it goes right from discharging to charging without giving the batteries a rest to cool down like the C9000 does, thus the BC-700 actually does more harm than good.

lwien I know you own this turd of a charger so I do not want to dump all over it cause that would not be nice, but I feel the need to warn others not to waste their money on it and spend a bit more for a real charger.

edit- spelled lwien wrong

I've experimented and smoked abv. It got me stoned. But I prefer to save it and use it for firecrackers.

I have the Sanyo charger that comes with 4 Eneloops. After charging 4 brand new Powerex 2700s in it, I can tell no difference in performance between them and the Eneloops. The Powerex are really tight fitting because my MFLB is an older model. My light has diminished a bit or is hazed over, but the box still works great.

Yeah, I have that Sanyo charger too which is different than the one DF posted up. It's a decent charger with it's main downfall being that it will only charge batteries in pairs which is not a good thing if one battery has been discharged more than the other.

It obviously won't do all the analytics and various charge, refresh, test and break-in modes along with the displays of some of the better chargers on the market, such as both the LaCrosse and Maha chargers but then, not everyone needs to have all of those options.

Is it okay to leave some bud in the trench if it is not completely vaped?

I used about a half of the pack, is it okay to sit in the trench for a week or any amount of time?

After vaping it, it should be light brown, after vaping it MORE, (ABV) it should turn dark brown, never black. Black means you are doing something wrong.

I honestly thing the best method for ABV is to re-vape, then save the re-vape and make edibles. This way you can use the weed 3 times. 1. Fresh in the vape, 2. ABV in the vape (still good - more body high), 3. SAVB (Super AVB - use in edibles)

^I think this is the best method :)

Hey guys 1st off thanks so much for all info, been reading for months, but this is my first time posting.

I saw this posted earlier but didn't see the direct answer, if I get the 2700 batteries how bad would it be if I charged them on the charger that came with the launch box?

Thanks guys for all your help, looking forward to future tips! :)

I agree, vape, vape, eat. As far as cleaning the tube, take a tiny piece of bud and put it in the tube, then push it through with a toothpick, and you'll have a sticky little nuglet.

I used the stock charger w/ the 2700's

Just make sure you try to take the batts out when the light turns solid. The batts that were left on the charger (overnight) seemed to lose power.

Okay, if you may have read my post from a few days ago, I have had a lot of trouble pushing the battery to make contact because of my small, weak hand. So yesterday I took out the rubber push ring and it is a lot easier now to make contact, with less pressure and I can keep the battery in contact longer. I read the Vaperpedia today and it says I need to take the battery out each time after I finish the draw. Now does that mean completely out of the Launch Box or just no longer in contact with the metal contact thingy (okay, I forget the correct term...semi-senior moment :) ) but still inside the Launch Box?
Thanks!

Without the push back ring you might want to take it out to be on the safe side but as long as its not touching the connector you should be fine.

Yes I pull mine away just enough to lose contact and continue drawing to cool the bowl. Then if I'm not using straight away I turn the battery around so it doesn't accidentally burn.
