I've been doing much better with my per se I Hercules combo lately. I think the colder weather has helped. Apparently ambient temperature is an important consideration.

I feel ya --- YET - I have nothing but the best regards ti this amazing company --
they take huge risks and chances trying and succeeding to be ahead of the "horrible vape market" -- any equipment issues are trumped by how far they have taken cartridges and technology and soo much more @ such a fast rate --

risking huge amounts $$ with each product -- I thank u for your work 2 the community -

yet I will say -- yes I'm used to the v3 blinking issue - -

now UNFORTUNATELY -- the main issue is the core -- and I am a huge advocate of the core --

I was ok using it solely --- I almost NEVER use batteries --- since the herc -- or even the other carts IMO need just 1 - 2 extra volts -- like if I could just run at 3.9v I would be sooo happy and I would use batteries all the time ---
unfortunately -- IMO n my experience even the best batts AW -- still cannot produce consistent at 7.4v and not at all @ 3.7v --
but with the core it is a masterpiece -- making me wish i could travel with --- n i can travel with my harley or car w/ adapter but now the core is shorting like crazy -- I need to hold the bottom tight tight tight n still to keep it goin ---

i hope I can get a fix on it or a replacement ---- or if I could just find 4volt battery -- ! lol :)

things will all work out --

its price to pay to be ahead --

:)

Sorry, but v3 is not the universal solution; I have a v3 top having a lot of 3 blink problems with my 3.7v carts.

Imho, thats not some quirks I should be putting up with and be comprehensive. I bought an sr71 and quitted on it, killed 2 7.4v kiss in 3-4 days, so 3.7v is what im using. The need to unscrew/screw my cart, place the button looking up to see if its actually firing were not things I signed for. The herc and the 7.4v kiss are user errors. Thats on me.

But the 76usd core having connection problems was never mentionned anywhere before I bought mine. I didnt signed for this too. I didnt have problems with it for a few days, but it came back yesterday on top of the 3.7v 3blinks.

Sorry for the negative here, but I had to vent. I understand having to put up with quirks on new and proprietary technologies (the hercules sr71) to have them now and/or experience something not many have. But I dont think a power supply or connecting a 3.7v cart are technologies hot enough to justify the quirks coming with them.

bottom line

I've tried them ALL --- I'm even involved a drop in the industry I guess --- Kinda u would say -- yet the true GOTO -- n the only system I still use on a daily basis -

was -- the volcano (original) for flower
and W9 items with a few 510 adapted items from time 2 time -- but persei n herc 74x is the daily goto no matter what !
and that setup --
the sr74x and persei and core
has put my volcano into the retirement closest --

I haven't touched dry flower in 7 months ----- since the herc became the driver !

much respect @THC SCIENTIFIC

Got around to using a new ti coil for the Hercules but after priming the coil, I find that it keeps moving up the rod on the cool down hits. I tried squishing it into an oval shape but that didn't help too much. Any advice? Idk why this didn't happen with my first one..

Edit: really odd...I set the herc down after a small session, it's still attached to the Persei and just standing upright on the table. I check on it after smelling something weird, open the top and the coils empty and all the wax leaked through.. No idea how that happened since I was there the whole time and no one ever touched it. The coil smells kinda bad and idk wtf happened. Time to reclean

Is there anyway to clean the coil so it doesn't smell/taste burnt

One way is to torch it clean and then an iso dip

Fucking tragedy. My Persei/Herc and slick stack got me escorted off the property at Haloween Horror Nights last night. Didn't even get in the gate. Banned for a year. Effing N*zis. Confiscated and almost taken to jail!
See "Fuck You Thread" for full rant".
Holy fuck.. That's messed up
:( I just got through a weekend at Disneyland with my kiss globe.

usually after a few sessions with new coil --- IME the coil gets sticky n nice and stays low ----- actually so much so that its tough to ever get it out to clean ?? n I never squiss down or change shape ???? gd luk my friend

I just give a quick burn with torch -- just till it goes on fire then I blow out and let the dry icky fall out -- n good as new
- also -- I have had luck soaking in iso or 91% or higher ...n then super qwik torch -
- not so much luck with water

--*** bonus tip *** -
my favorite sr74/71 trick to get taste back after it gets too hot and oil is burnt enough where the flavor is gone but clouds still producing like crazy :) -- when its nice oil and I use wax paper -- I use the paper as a first stop for the wax on purpose b4 I put it away in the jar :) --
I then take the empty but oily wax paper with the oils that soaked into it and cut it up into tab size and put in glass container ----
as the hits get too hot n flavor gone or not the best -- I open top n throw one lil square of paper in -- and it gives the vapor all that flavor back for remaining hits .....

I just luv it ----

any thoughts ? -- try it out --

--
anyone have any luck fixing the core --- ???? the connection going into the bottom is the standard issue I hear -- I'm dealing with it now :(

Hmmm... I have a hammer top that is now giving me the Blinkenlights error when I press the button at 7.4v, fresh charged batteries. Last night, I got a small puff off, then got the Blinkenlights ever since.

I haven't thoroughly troubleshot yet, as I'm at work, but works fine on a v1 top (if there was a short, it would have gone *poof*, right?), swap back and Blinkenlights again.

Has anyone seen a S-74 white rod change resistance to trip the Blinkenlights like that? (My next steps are to get a multimeter and get a reading, failing that, try with a 5 ohm EO cart, then step to a 3.7 black rod and a 18650 - I'm not panicking yet, just speculating!)

Wouldn't the 3x combo of Single v1 top + Double v1 top + Hammer v1 top be good for a new head swap? (Though it's kinda cool to strut around with oldschool tops)

*Blinkenlights = press the button and you get three flashses with no power as a response

V1 single top + v1 double top + $65 = new top + 4 kiss carts. From experience.

Can anyone report success running the 1701 donut off a Persei + core and what voltage they used?

Experiencing constant frustration with the blinky lights of death at 3.7v and 4.2v.

I have a v3 Persei top. Core seems to work much better running the Sr74 at 7.4v.

Are u experiencing blinking lights during use of the core? Or battery power?

During use of the core. I have no Iris so the only way to bump up the voltage on the 1701 donut is via the core.

If I just want to run the donut at 3.7v I can do that on my Omicron Lite. Vapor production is too weak that way though IMO.

When you push the button does the core screen display LO or flashes PROTECTION?

My v3 persei had been running my 3.7v carts (and 7.4v as usual) flawlessly for the last 2 days on batteries(exclusively for the 2 days). I screw my globe at 3.7v this afternoon,. So I risk using my 1701 donut at 4.4v on the core and I get the 3 blinking lights.. I need to screw/unscrew my globe for every button press.. Taste was awesome though.

When you push the button does the core screen display LO or flashes PROTECTION?
fwiw, my core display doesnt react when giving 3 lights blink. The word protection appears constantly.

@Vape Dr. Was looking at one of your blog reviews over at W9 for the Okeanos and I noticed that you fill your KISS cart to the brim. Don't you have issues with the oil getting sucked out and splattering on the inside of the Okeanos vapor chamber when it is that full?

I do get a tiny bit, not nearly as much now with the upgrade.
I heat it up for around 5 seconds before taking a draw.
I also take small draws the first few times, then I'm good to go. I full it up as much as I can to take it out and about.
I get more splash up with oil, shatter works the best IMHO because it's thicker to start.
I slowly draw until I hear a little pop when the Vapor breaks through.
I hit the okeanos much lighter than the hercules for sure, but with the okeanos upgrade you can definitely fill the coil up more.
The larger vapor chamber in the upgrade definitely helps prevent the splash up.
