Discontinued Elevape SV

One of the things I would like to see changed is having a bit more time at the end of the 8 seconds to clear
all the left over vapor. To see how much vapor stays behind, after an inhale, open the lid and very gently
blow into the side of the oven, where the vapor goes, you'll see a stream of vapor coming out of the mouth piece. Remember to blow gently or your herbs go flying around.

The sound of vapor
If you don't stop inhaling, no it doesn't get it back on. I usually inhale very slowly for a couple of sec once the light is off. but if I inhale too much it combusts...

I can't actually draw much longer than maybe 12 secs anyway, so I haven't had it turn back on, no.

Oh, and today, possibly the third Saturday since I actually cleaned it, it decided to be too gunked up to work right. I took it apart, and put the airpath components through a PBW/boiling water quick wash.

Yes, the finish pickled a bit, particularly on the lid. No, I really do not care. Wow, is it amazingly clean! I got it dry again as quick as I could, and it's back to flawless performance.

I just love this little sucker. I call it my Rescue Inhaler.

I always thought that it started up again if you draw long enough wich it clearly doesn't.
Great, no more lingering vapor anymore!

I like to clean the elevape at least 2 times a week, when cleaned the taste is so much
better plus, for me, if it's not cleaned in ahwile, I can combust more easy. I also get alot
of herbs into the vapor path, but when I empty the bowl, I always take a tissue and put it around
the bowl, then I blow hard into the mouthpiece and most of the debris fly into the tissue.

My Experience with the Elevape SV:

I emailed The iPuff Support about the Rakuten listing and how it was considerably cheaper at $250. Joe emailed me back saying those were old units and offered to send me a brand new one off the assembly line for $279 because of FC discount and would include extra screens. I told him id happily support the company because of how fast and informative he was with his emails. I received my elevape in about 2 days and it came with around 7 extra screens, 2 mouthpiece screens, 1 extra O ring, a case and 2 extra coils which are very important. i Probably vaped around a quarter the first day i used it. I spent so much time figured out my breathing technique and temperatures. I combusted several times making me angry but i knew this could happen and i would eventually figure it out. The moister of the herbs plays a big role in temperatures. I think after about a day or two i figure out that my unite likes the 1st temp setting which is 305 when i breathe slow. I prime it for about 3 to 4 secs then inhale slow for about 5 secs then 5 again for huge clouds. Right now im experimenting with setting 3 which is 315 and im still priming it but inhaling stronger for less time and it seems like this is working good and could save my battery. Anyway, several days after receiving my unit it stopped working mid session but it was weird because sometimes it would fire but sometimes it wouldn't. I contacted Joe immediately and he told me to call him. He ended up sending me the new software which is a lot better. Anyone who has the software that doesn't show battery power should contact iPuff right away. But that wasn't the issue we eventually figured out that one part of the heating coil was barely disconnected from the post. It was broken off but it fired sometimes because if you shook it a little it would touch the post. I quickly replaced it with an extra that came in the box and it worked flawlessly.
This thing has literally not left my side since ive gotten it. I own a pax and an Evo and the evo sits in my car because im in a dorm and am scared to lose a $500 vaporizer. My pax is now in my ca but i can still see myself using it for certain occasions. The elevape can produce bigger clouds than my evo and its easier to do so. The flavor is incredible the first 3 or so hits then it starts to decrease. I love how i can just pick up this thing and go. I mainly keep it plugged into my computer when im in my dorm, and i always keep it in my pocket when im walking around campus. It looks exactly like an ecig and o ya the construction is insane. This thing is like perfectly engineered and constructed i love it. Since i use it in my dorm a lot i always have the brush handy so i tend to clean off the temp sensor every 2 to 3 bowls and clean out the airpath every 5 or so probably just cus its kinda fun and i might be ocd idk i just think its always good to get that fresh taste. ive only cleaned it with iso once but i clean the lid screens frequently. I replace the lid screens probably every 5 bowls also and i keep changing them so i can clean them all at once. The only complaint that i just mentioned to Joe is that to get good vapor you have to stir every 1 to 2 hits and when your in a public place that can be very hard to do. He ensured me that in around 2 weeks they are coming out with a stirring mechanism where all you have to do is twist the lid. The day they come out i will definately be ordering one. That would make this vape legen(wait for it)dary. Also they will be coming out with their own oil pad that i will also be ordering. All in all this is the coolest vape i own and it definitely conserves bud buts its so fun and easy to use i think im using more haha.

Around 2 weeks for stirring mechanism hopefully, but we need to spread the word so more people buy the Elevape. They've invested huge in this project. Oil pad should be coming shortly as well but i dont care as much for that, i have a g of insane concentrate im sittin on but herbs are a much fuller high for me.

Looking forward to getting the new lid and further development of this vape. For use on the go, there is no other. My unit has seen about 2 months of daily use so far and continues to operate reliably.

Damn. I have not used an EVO, but... this is quite a statement.

Hot diggity! This is shaping up to be the ultimate sneaker vape...

I'm loving this ride.

If you use a higher heat setting like 3 o'clock on the evo right of the bat then yes you will get a bigger cloud but i can only get a couple hits out of it that way. I like to start my evo on around 12 then gradually increase. I have to inhale a lot but the flavor is great and the vapor is definitely still dense. But still i have to heat up the evo for like 7 mins probably i have never actually timed it but its definitely a session vape and its huge. The Elevape is just so beautiful and feels so great in my hand and it uses a smart charger to charge. I have a android phone and a ps4 that uses the same cord to charge the controllers so this is awesome to me i can literally plug it in anywhere so i always have it at the ready. Like others have mentioned i can now vape if i wake up in the middle of the night which i do a lot, i would never do that if i had to wait. The oil glass thing on the evo is insane and is definitely the best ive used so far but ive yet to try the elevape with oil so i dont know yet but im sure its going to be great. Im not sure which vape is more efficient for herbs yet but the fact that i can just hit the elevape and set it down is great. Sometimes i just want 1 or 2 puffs, other times i want to get ripped so i vape a whole bowl. Idk i dont seem to miss the evo, im very satisfied with this things performance. Also i love how i can keep it plugged in to my laptop and instantly change the temp. Technology is aweesooomme.

Great news about the lid! That's cool about the oil pad too. A few on this thread have reported using concentrates on herbalizer pads in the SV with good results, so it makes sense. Thanks for that, @DormVapin!

The stirring-lid is a welcome upgrade—as an early adopter (S/N 00014!!!), the stirring has probably been keeping me from using the SV as much as other portables. However, the vapor-on-demand aspect of this device is first to the market and should be supported IMO. There's no other flower vape that you can pick up anytime and just hit right away (provided it's loaded of course, lol). The SV is unique in its ability to deliver a couple quick, tasty hits when you have only a second. Now that a stirring mechanism exists, I expect more and more will discover the ingenuity of this little vape!

I did a quick look&demo with someone at the LHS, as he had asked my opinion of the S&B portables.
He was very intrigued, and was thinking of looking into carrying the ESV when I left.

and I still haven't called for my new screens! :bang:

Forgot to mention that I received my new retainer, and the little tool they send with it works quite well.

Although, it took a few tries before I figured it out...

Nice to be able to clean in there, cause stuff does build up in that spot...

So what does the retaining ring tool look like? I'm going to get of those tools and a couple of spare coils. Don't want any downtime, lol!

So I just purchased the elevape on vapornation. I cant wait until this thing arrives... I've had it in my cart for like two weeks debating between this, the firefly and the crafty. After thinking about my needs and wants I decided to go with the elevape. The extra 50 degrees the news about how easy and awesome this thing is sold me.

On demand clouds and stealthiness is a must for me. (this will be my first convection portable). I own a solo, ascent, pax, and an herbalizer.

Still wish I could taste some medical from a firefly though :(. I'm a Texan

What is the retainer tool exactly? @speedyg You mention spare coils but you only need a screw driver to replace those. Your not talking about the middle screens are you? Ive been wondering if those are replaceable. Lovin this thing more everyday

I'm experimenting with stirring less... it seems to be working pretty well, so far.

I finally went and downloaded the more recent app, so now I have temperatures! I've changed my settings, and am experimenting with the temps I think I want vs what temp it says I'm getting... more data must be gathered, of course.

I'm pondering doing a video, much like the one I did for the ENano. I'll wait until I get consistent results with my temp/stirring, then shoot what works for me. :)

I cannot wait for the new lid, stirring is my biggest complaint about this vape and the reason I don't use it near as often as I should. Without stirring the vapor density/flavor is too inconsistent for me. I can get away without stirring my firefly by tapping it on my hand in-between draws, but I cannot seem to figure out a way to avoid stirring on the ESV yet

Haha tell me about it. I like taking big draws so I have to stir nearly every hit. Makes this thing impossible to have a session while walking or driving. Completely defeats the purpose haha but the vapor quality and the ease of clouds makes up for it. I prefer the elevape over all devices idk I think it just gives me the perfect high and the clouds it produces makes me think im hitting a bowl. Since unfortunately its possible to combust with this vape, you can vape herbs right before the point of combustion which results in enormous clouds. It never leaves my sight and the stirring mech will just put the cherry on top.

Elevape stopped working today. I think the breathing sensor broke so sending it in tomorrow. First time using the evo and pax since i've gotten the sv. Definitely get what you pay for with the evo but the elevape is a mini evo at half the price.

Evo:

Can draw however you want. it doesn't change anything and still get the fattest clouds.
Dont have to stir ever. i still shake, but honestly you don't have to.
taste slightly better than elevape with all glass air path but decreases at same rate - 3 to 4 hits.
same vapor quality and draw length as the elevape ~ 10 secs.
Close draw resistance but evo is a tad lighter.
looks good as shit on my desk, like its suppose to be there forever.
walking around campus with it would look kinda funny, especially with the dangling cord.
Takes 10 mins to heat up but i can leave it on practically all day with the bowl in and it doesn't vape it.
Hotness isn't issue. i just have the vapexhale cloth thing with their band around it. its perfect and protects the unit.
Evo bowl is bigger by a lot, like 5 times, but i put same amount of herb in each for a session.
Perfect day vape because i never have to clean it. like it's impossible to because you don't have to.
Can vape it with a group because of bowl size but limited stretch because of cord and whip.

Pax:

draw not fast but hard like a blunt pull
never have to stir
tastes good at first but gets worse. then again i love all vapor
the least draw time definitely but its a harsh one
like its hot vapor from the metal
looks like a beaut but its really a Chinese toy
like for real tho i think this is my 4th one, free of course
great for walks and driving never have to worry about anything but turning temp up
doesn't take long at all to heat up or change temp
bowl probably 3 times the size of elevape
can vape with one other person
have to clean every 6 sessions probably but its annoying to clean and I'm lazy so it clogs up
every time you clean it you have to use alcohol unlike the elevape

Elevape SV:

Have to get down your own draw resistance and temp settings but its fun i think.
i have to stir every hit but that will become a lot easier with stirring mech.
vapor quality comparable to evo since both are convection.
build construction like I've never seen before. makes my dna30 clone feel light as shit.
like it just feels so right and all the pieces go together so perfectly.
don't try driving and stirring. I do it all the time and its retarded, there should be a law against it.
Walking and stirring on campus is equally as bad and totally sketch but both of these are temporary.
takes zero time to heat up so if its ready your golden. great for hitting in elevators, in traffic and that 30 secs you have whens there's no one around, but really it looks exactly like an ecig and it barely smells.
probably a 1 person vape, at least for me it is.
I brush off bowl and screen every bowl.
i have to brush off sensor every 3 bowls, takes probably 1 min.
i probably brush out the air path in the unit and change the screen every 10 bowls.
I iso the lid, air path, and mouth piece every 20 bowls probably.
So there is definitely some maintenance but its so well engineered that its not hard and there's no electronics to worry about unlike the pax where i clean it then turn it on and fumes appear from places that i cant even get to.
