Take my money
Anyone from Canada order from the S & B site? Just curious about shipping time and duty charges. Thanks, and I hope this was the correct place to post.
I hope canadian vape store will put the crafty in their lineup soon! I want this vape so bad, but from storz&bickel it's 460$CAN + duty taxes!

Edit - App is working fine. Weird, this was the first time I had problems connecting with the app.

just a guess, but with high current draw from batteries, the device needs a solid connection (i.e. soldered). So, not a general user replaceable option.

well i do not doubt your knowelege of electronics. just figured it could be like a box mod or something.

Just swinging by to say the apple apps working for me. Boost acting little funny seems to add in amounts of 5 degree. Now that apps approved sure update will fix any issues.

I also took one of the oil pads and cut it in half and now using that as screen in cooling unit. Good airflow and cuts back on the mess.

The app is so awesome! I love the realtime temp, and it is so easy to bump the temp up and down a few degrees while vaping. The battery indicator is really useful too.

I cant wait to see vapecritics reviews and see what tips he has. He's been taking some time to post his reviews!

I opened up the cooling unit today and was surprised how easily I could take it apart and put it back together. At first it seemed a little daunting but once you do it, it is simple.

I saw on Storz and Bickels website they sell a pack of 3 cooling units for $60 which is a really good deal. So if you ever need to replace it, it is not to expensive. I bought the $34 wear and tear set and it came with an extra cooling unit.

The design of the cooling unit is pretty smart. The flow of the vapor through the unit ensures no particles get to the mouthpiece.

I am so surprised after few days on usage that the bowl area still looks brand new. Similar to how with the Volcano the actual volcano unit stays clean, and the filling chamber gets dirty; with the Crafty the base unit stays completely clean, and only the cooling unit gets dirty on the inside.

Every other portable I have owned shows visible signs of resin after using it, but not with the Crafty. After using it for a few days now, without opening up the cooling unit, you will see absolutely no resin on the device. It stays super clean.

I feel like it really is the Volcano on the go

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
So if I've downloaded the Iphone app, yet haven't ordered the Crafty yet... is it a sign of the inevitable to come ?

Big THANKS to those who've jumped on early and shared their experience on this expensive sided new kid on the block  I'm glad to continue reading the satisfaction reports, both of it's performance as well as it's perceived value for the bucks spent so far  ** sorry to those that have run into an issue and need to endure the 'doing without your new toy' exchange

Soooo... me :( LOL.

The new one is USPS Priority. I expect to have it back maybe tuesday? Not sure. Either way I'm keeping the bag of screens and gaskets and shit when I send it back. My little fee for failing me :p

On my ipad's app store it was under "iphone only" apps, downloaded it anyways boots just fine :hmm:
Same here, although I have it on my Android phone, I tried to download the app on my iPad and wasn't able to find it at first. It has the iPhone layout so I would like one for the iPad.

I did the same thing. This is what we call a "buying signal" . . . ;)
Me too, VAS has found its prey.

I'm pretty sure there was an artificial flavor to it even after I did the burn off.
As I already mentioned, it had a "new" smell to it. I gently sipped when doing the burn off and I noticed this artificial taste similar to the smell so I continued the burn off.
When using it with herbs later the same artificial taste was there.
I hope this gets better because this is really bothering me.
Did anyone have a similar experience or do I have a faulty unit (or maybe I'm just crazy)?

Is the taste there when there is no heat as well? To me the only non-herb taste is the taste of the plastic literally in my mouth. If it was in anyway tasting different than that when heated, I'd have returned my unit. I don't play around when it comes to safety.

So I tested it again. It seems to be the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece tastes that way. I inhaled from the cold unit and the taste was still there when exhaling. My girlfriend said I'm being too picky. I asked her but she thinks it's fine though she notices a very very subtle taste as well.
I don't know why only the mouthpiece but not the other plastic parts (outside of the unit) taste that way. Yes, I licked my Crafty :haw:

EDIT: I will ask my friends this afternoon and compare it to the Ascent.

LOL. Its the flavor of the mouthpiece. My firefly "tastes like metal" but we naturally consider that clean. Thats because theres a piece of plastic or metal in your mouth! :)

I've used other vapes that put off an actual bad smell/flavor when heating only. That is scary stuff.

MOTHERFUCKER

So, my Crafty is officially toast. Not by S&B's fault though.

I loaded a bowl and gave it to my coworker to go enjoy since he just finished his shift. He went to the bathroom before leaving the trailer. Somehow, he dropped the fucking unit into the toilet.

Yes, the Crafty fell into the motherfucking toilet! :bang:

Immediately tried to dry it off, and then put it in a bag of rice. I started to smell something, so opened the unit up. The freshly loaded bowl had started to burn, and the red light was on. After a minute the light turned off, and it stopped heating up.

It's still in the bag of rice, haven't tried to turn it back on.

I'm assuming it's toast though.

I REALLY hope it's just the battery that got shorted out and needs replacing. Will be contacting S&B over the weekend to see what's up.

FUCK ME

Your coworker should stump the cost

Gutted

Oh he'll definitely be helping pay for it. I hope it's a cheap repair though. He wouldn't be able to afford paying for it if he had to buy a whole new unit. I'll probably end up eating some of the repair cost myself unfortunately.

I don't think I'll be as generous letting people use it without me there though. It will likely stay in my sight from now on.

You're right. I can't offer a good comparison yet. My Vaponics taste is more pure though. You still have a plastic taste in your mouth, it may not harm you but I feel it disturbs the taste a bit if you're spoiled like me. :)
I would really appreciate a different mouthpiece. Wood would be sick!

@Roth I'm will never leave someone unattended with my Crafty. This is my baby now and I don't want to have to send it back soon.

I noticed a slight plasticy taste but it went away after the first couple of bowls.
This is very good to here. Hoping for the same improvement.

Vaping on someone elses brand new $400 device over an open toilet bowl seems like a fantastic idea, if you like to live dangerously

I still don't even know how it fell in the toilet. He wasn't using it in there, just going to the bathroom before driving off to enjoy it.

He said he's always had a weird phobia about dropping his phone in the toilet, but it had never actually happened to him.

Ya, I REALLY wish it was his phone and not my Crafty that fell in

I wonder if they have liquid damage indicators in them, and also wondering what the warranty policy is if you a) admit to breaking it or b) plead ignorance
