I think thats just how the v3 tops are. You definitely aren't the only one getting that 3 blinking issue with the globe/kiss carts. Best way to do it is like spoutti said and hold the power button and then slowly twist it on. Hopefully the v4 will be ready soon.

What problems are you having with your SR-71? It took me hella long to fully figure it out tbh, it'd always power for me but I wouldn't be able to get the clouds I wanted for the longest time without wrecking the wax. Now it's my daily driver.

Hmmm, I get the opposite:
Often get the blinking lights on my v2 top, v3 top working flawlessly.
That's mostly with the herc though, haven't tried my globe with the persei (I don't see the point when I've got my minicron for that.)

Yeah, I think the v3 were made specificly for the Herc to never fail but something changed regarding the kiss/globe along the way..? I never had an issue with the v3 and herc too. Tried it with the 3.7 and 7.4 for SR-71 and the 7.4 for SR-74 without any problems.

Damn, you still got your v2? lol I blew mine out quick, pssh what a noob :3

MY NYC PEEPZ -- other NY and tri - state peeps :)
sweeeet --

I'm on LI -- right outside the city -- NYC -- we gotta all chill

I run a studio --- we should do a session ! :)

@k3nd4l

re -- sr74 3.7v and other heat up time

I'm still mastering the 7.4v with batteries ( i never have luck even with aw even :( -- just me though i guess :) -- but I'm ok with since - the core is just fine - since as mentioned NY isn't easy on the run :) YET ......hopefully soon --
but 7.4v on the core has a fairly quick heat up time

as far as time ? -- i use the hammer of course ( wish it was silver like my other :"tools" :) )
but I keep button pressed 15-20 seconds b4 the clouds r ready to flow ! with the core @ 7.4v...
sometimes need 30 seconds when cold and of course all depends on type of product ..

now that I have the 3.7 rod working -- if it is COLD I feel it needs about A FULL MINUTE TO HEAT UP N START WITH SERIOUS CLOUDS ---
THEN AFTER heated up -- only need to re apply the button for 15 - 20 seconds for each session --

it degrades quickly on batteries --

with the core its standard and stays the same amount of time --
I actually feel the 3.7 needs less than 60 second heat up time when on the core --
again once heated up --- on the core it only needs 10 seconds to jump off again after light cool down ..

im gunna do actual stop watch test when I'm in studio later n ill post -- with core and full charged batts

It is sweet with the 3.7v --- now together with the small stack battery setup its just a drop larger than a bic pen :) -- perfect for nyc -- just with it matched better -- :_) so vain .. lol

(reclaim always gr8 4 edibles my friends :) )
Yes we should definitely have us NY/Li people meet up and have a nice sesh ! id have to work it out around my school and work schedule but i could definitely find time ! & thanks for the estimated heat up times definitely makes the hammer top a priority to get w. the sr74 now. If you do end up doing the stop watch test let me know how it goes.

One last question.. can you (or anybody) do me a favor and take a picture of the persei w. the small ss tube & the herc attached next to like a bic pen or highlighter or iphone? basically something thats in an everyday household that i can compare it to. someone had taken a picture for me before in front of a tv but i couldnt really get a grasp on the size from that. or if you could take a picture of the herc next to one of the old carts.. either way works

Thank you ! any chance you can move that lighter up so the base is at the base of the herc ? it looks in the picture as though the herc is about the same size as the lighter though if im not mistaken? looks like the lighter would end around where the mouthpiece is starting. if thats the case thats pretty much exactly what im looking for. once again thank you !

would anyone be willing to post pictures or a video of torching the titanium coils clean or what it should look like after being torched?

I never had too much success with the small AW battery and the Herc with the shorty, I found that the battery didn't hold up too long and/or the clouds wouldn't be satisfying.. Should I try out those Sony batteries? Anyone got any recommendation as to where to order them?

Be careful torching coils... i torched one to pieces the other night. The ti one from the sr74. Sooo @THC SCIENTIFIC , was that supposed to happen?

@lockie No 18350 ive tried has held up beyond a couple good hits. I dont think they pack enough power. I wanted the shorty tube to work sooo bad. The solution i found was the gr2 kiss cart. Almost as flavorful, lasts plenty long as a stealth.

I have not. I am trying to look for an adapter/whip setup that would work for the herc and water filtration though.

If I understand correctly yes you can torche the TI could not the original SS coils from the 71.

Im getting the 3 blink with battery or the core on my 3.7v globe and kiss. 2 power sources and 2 different carts; I guess the problem is the persei. I may be wrong, but I have to create/screw a connection for my persei to fire less oftently going farther through the session. I hope I can get it fixed. I created a ticket on the web site. Im starting to understand the mechanical wonderfulness hype of the 8 bits by bits :D

On another note, I just tried the 1701 donut------> WOW! Quite tasteful. Im happy to be able to have all that taste without the learning curve of the herc.

about to attempt a KISS cart ti rebuild, have the kit and disassembled carts, where and how does the non-ti wire attach below the coupler?

I have the same exact setup my friend --- its perfect size n all -- with sr-74x and shorty --

I just wish they made 4v batteries (no matter what I just wan not get enough using batteries -- imo even the best ones still last one session and still doesn't hit consistent -- again just imo --

many have had lots success -- n ill keep trying :)

and @FarmerJohnMac

I have done a few rebuilds without the titanium wire .. is that what u r talking about

I used some really thick n-chrome --- I'm waiting on tit2 wire now

hir me up if i can assist my friend

I get the 3 blinks on my persei a lot when I hold it sideways. Usually, when I stand it straight up again it'll fire or sometimes I just need to shake it a bit or even unscrew and rescrew the herc on.

I know it's probably the batteries and the connection when I hold it sideways but do other people experience this too? I've adjusted the battery spring to have the battery stick out more to make better contact but to no avail.

Its just the super sensitive short protection. All is good with your persei, you just have to wait for the new tops or grab a v3 right now through the warranty system.

Yah it's more of an annoyance rather than an issue so I'll let it be for now. Thanks for confirming!

Sorry, but v3 is not the universal solution; I have a v3 top having a lot of 3 blink problems with my 3.7v carts.

Imho, thats not some quirks I should be putting up with and be comprehensive. I bought an sr71 and quitted on it, killed 2 7.4v kiss in 3-4 days, so 3.7v is what im using. The need to unscrew/screw my cart, place the button looking up to see if its actually firing were not things I signed for. The herc and the 7.4v kiss are user errors. Thats on me.

But the 76usd core having connection problems was never mentionned anywhere before I bought mine. I didnt signed for this too. I didnt have problems with it for a few days, but it came back yesterday on top of the 3.7v 3blinks.

Sorry for the negative here, but I had to vent. I understand having to put up with quirks on new and proprietary technologies (the hercules sr71) to have them now and/or experience something not many have. But I dont think a power supply or connecting a 3.7v cart are technologies hot enough to justify the quirks coming with them.
