When I recounted how the charging Mighty wouldn't heat up for 5-10 minutes, I believe it turns out now that was a precursor to an Error #4 reading. The error started a day after the heating problem. Now its actually stopped the error message, but the heater has stopped heating entirely. It just says "18 210" for the actual and set temperatures.
I believe the Service Department will take care of me in a timely fashion, although I was expecting to already have the prepaid return shipping label like yesterday. I'll report how the service experience goes.

But seriously, I'm shocked to hear the report of the first faulty unit. But I guess everything has a failure rate, even if your name is storz and bickel.
I guess how they deal with it will be more important.

How many other manufacturers have agreed to provide a prepaid return label for a defective unit, even if it is under warranty?
VaporBrother does but other then them I paid for return shipping.

Hey guys I am in the market for a new portable I am going back fourth between the haze and the mighty, I was waiting until Bud the vape critic posts a reveiw of them both before I pulled the trigger on one but I am tired of waiting lol. So any thoughts? Portability and discreetness are not an issue but vapor quality is a huge deal to me.

Well what should I base it on? I'm rather new to vaping and base most of decisions on reviews or suggestions from people who have tried a lot of vapes and know their stuff.

You said you were waiting on VapeCritics review before pulling the trigger. Rather than waiting for that, I would make my decision based upon the multitude of reviews right here at FC.
But I have two suggestions. One is, do you really want to be an early adopter? Typically, there is a price to pay for that in the form of getting a product that is untested in the marketplace and as such, you may experience a higher defective rate that you would with a mature product. And two, you may want to wait another couple of weeks for more reviews to come in as well keeping an eye out for those defective units that are bound to show up and a few already have.
Or three............throw all that stuff out the window because you've been bitten by the S&B bug and you have to be the first on your block to get something new. Nothing wrong with that, but ya just gotta go into that with eyes wide open.
A review from VapeCritic is just one mans review and his review is no more valid than many of the reviews here, especially those reviews from long time FC veterans who have owned a multitude of vapes over the years and actually, I think these reviews could be looked at as more valid being that they are not tied into any retailer and no one here gets paid a stipend for a positive review, and if they are, they get quickly..............banned.

But it's not like these vapes are being rushed to market by amateurs, not naming any names.
I get the feeling that s&b has pretty thoroughly stress-tested these, put them through their paces.
Were there any bugs to work out when the volcanos and the plenty were released?
Seems like a bunch of satisfied customers from what I can tell

If you don't need portability, I'd look twice at a Volcano Digit or Classic.

It seems this vape is a really heavy hitter if you kill a 0.2 bowl in 3-5 hits, personnaly it's not really my cup of tea, I prefer a more conservative way to vape, i.e my FW (or MV or HA...) can produces 10-15 nice little tasty clouds from 0.1 bowl...
My only really big hitter is the Cloud+ and it's more my MV backup (I don't use it too much but I'm still in love with it!) than anything else.
The hits number depend your bud quality too, with my MV I only get 3-5 hits from a low thc sativa and 12-15 with my Cheese.
Where this vape seems amazing is the ability to cool down this big amount of vapor to be able to hit it dry (where the MV don't work really good, except if you get iron lungs!)
Classifieds section is a good way to judge how a vape is good or not, i.e the FF seems amazing but there is a lot of FF to sell in Classifieds and not so much Xp....so I wait and see before to put the trigger on it (but I don't really need it and some little things make I'll pass for this one...)

S&B already made a running correction with their software/firmware on the Crafty as was reported here, and this was just out of a few units delivered. There was also one or two units being sent back for repair as well as a few with reported bugs.
While I agree that this issue with buying brand new product is less with S&B due to their close attention to manufacturing and QC tolerances, it's still a brand new design that has not matured in the marketplace as of yet and no amount of testing and QC is going to eliminate this issue entirely.
The fact is, is that this issue is more prevalent with brand new designs of ANY product, not just vaporizers.
Were there running changes to the 'Cano within it's first year of release to correct issues and make it better in terms of performance and reliability? Odds are.....................yes.

I agree that early adopters sometimes pay the price, but S&B is one of the only companies (if not the) company with a reputation solid enough to try. I mean, Grasshopper team raised over $300,000.00 with a video of an unfinished prototype. S&B has over a decade on the market. Mighty will be my next vape. I can't afford to buy a bunch of vapes that may or may not be any good. I have a Volcano right in front of me. Storz & Bickel has earned my trust.

Not sure where you're getting this but I get 10-15 nice clouds, at least, from a standard .2 Mighty pack.
Waaay more than 3-5. YMMV.
Honestly, my main potential issue is fear of using a heated battery in a device like this. Is there any potential for it to eventually just explode in my face? I've seen batteries do that before and it's a bit scary.
I also wonder what will happen over time with battery life over time. I have to charge it at least 2x, if not more in a day, so a car adapter will prove useful eventually. There was a WizardPuff video on here where they claimed the Mighty lasted "almost 2 days of heavy use", not true in my opinion. The battery life isn't BAD at all, that's just a really zealous estimate. It reminds me of my cell phone, at the end of the day, I better not be caught without a charger.

In all the posts here on FC I've never yet read one where anyone had a battery explode in a vaporizer.
Your questions about how the battery will hold up and how many charges the mighty will take before the batteries need to be replaced won't be answered until owners have had it long enough to have recharged a few hundred times until then we won't know.
Honestly I didn't think I would be so interested in an S&B Product, although I think I'll wait 6 months or more to see how it pans out after the new product honeymoon period is over before I seriously consider picking one up myself.

I received the mighty today and wanted to let you all know it rocks!!!!!! After about a 5-10 minute burn in I fired it up to 375 and was quite blown away. It produces great clouds with very little material. I am not a heavy user and it doesn't take much but I never got that thick of vapor off my solo. It's as good as any desktop I have owned. It's smooth, vapor doesn't get hot and just damn convenient. It's not as smooth as my herbalizer but it's close. I'm thinking of selling my herbie now!!!!!

It remembers last temp. But it does not remember if you switched it to Fahrenheit.

Everyone has their own way to vaporize: hot and fast, slow but sure, and all the methods in-between.
Mostly, I'm a slow but sure vapor user, punctuated with concentrate hits. I am glad I bought the Mighty. It is a very good vape. If you vape like me, the Mighty wins over the Solo, but not over 3 Solos, which is what you could buy for more or less the same money. If disposable income is not a problem, by all means get a Mighty.

Well, that's a hassle. You have to reset it to Fahrenheit every time you turn it on (for those of use who have no idea what in the hell celsius means........hehe)?

Error 1 means battery is too hot, let the device cool down.
It's gotta be a software programming mistake that they can and will fix.
