While I wish Florida's medical population all the luck in the world, I would not get my hopes up too high. 60% is a VERY high bar to achieve. No voter initiative concerning medical or recreational cannabis has ever reached it...or ever had to. The unknown element is, as usual, the undecided voters. Unfortunately, they tend to vote heavily with the status quo. Perhaps in 2016, but I just don't see it happening this election cycle. I REALLY hope I'm wrong.

I will keep my hopes up quite high, no offense, thanks. It may be the only thing keeping many volunteers going right now.

Also there's this:
Michigan Proposal 1 (Medical Marijuana)
Result Votes Percentage
Yes --- 3,008,980----63%
No--- 1,792,870 -------37%

Also, studies have shown that 80% of the time, undecided voters will side with the challenger, not incumbent. I believe they call this the "incumbent rule" or something. Which I don't know what that means for an amendment like Floridas.

Last Florida post for the night, I promise.
@Vicki @deadheadbill @mvapes and everyone else---Please watch the "Today Show" on Thursday morning(October 30th) if you'd like to see a nice special on John Morgan, the man who got Florida's Amendment#2 on the ballot and is the main financial backer. And maybe you'll get to see me on TV too. This is pretty big for us, positive national exposure this close to the election.

I just got up out of bed because I've been feeling really bad, but I set my DVR, and got the whole thing! I'll go looking for that part later on after I pay bills.

@Silver420Surfer I'll be PMing you later too!

I wonder how many of these hateful, so called Christians will stop buying Apple products now that the CEO came out. Maybe Microsoft will benefit.

Thanks for that info about Michigan. I hadn't heard about it....maybe because it happened fairly recently. It gives me some hope. I apologize if my assessment of the situation was a bit cold. As a person with a debilitating, life threatening illness, I feel your pain. Although I really, really hope that I'm wrong, I'm still skeptical that this will pass. There are various polls showing that undecided voters go for the challenger (or the change). Nate Silver, the pollster who predicted the correct outcome of every state in the 2012 election, disagrees. Also note the results of the Scottish referendum for independence. The vast majority of the undecided vote went with the status quo. Once again, I apologize for my rather cold assessment of the situation and I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

I'm hoping millions of us prove you wrong. I can only go by what I am seeing day in and day out since Oct. 22nd, when early voting began in Florida. So far at the 3 polls I have rallied at, support shown is overwhelmingly in favor of Amendment #2. These locations are in the all important "I-4 corridor". If ealry voters are showing big support, which are traditionally Republican in FL, I am hoping for even more support when the traditionally more liberal and compassionate Dems come out and vote. Libertarians, vote "Yes On #2" to keep the Gov't out of our lives!!
It will be a fight to the finish, i am sure, and don't wan't to give anyone false hope.

Floridians....this is far from over...make some noise at the polls and let us make history!!!

Haha and I wonder how many lgbt's will absolutely have to have an iwatch this holiday season!

The aftermath of this might actually be fun to watch. I wonder if it will be anything like the Chick Fil A fiasco....

Maybe they won't have to worry about the iwatch. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon at the Microsoft store for my Surface Pro 3, so I'm gonna take a look at it. Can't afford it right now, though.

http://americasmarkets.usatoday.com/2014/10/29/hour-is-here-for-microsoft-watch/

The listing for the app says it will be available for all three major smartphone platforms, including Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android and Microsoft’s Windows Phone. This makes the device very different than other smartphone makers’ wearable devices, which are tethered to just their equipment. Microsoft is making the bet that modern consumers have devices made by multiple companies and are looking for equipment and services that work on all of them.

**Making a mental note to watch Apple and Microsoft stocks

BTW, I think I am worrying myself into another ulcer until Tuesday night after the polls close. :(

Why was the drone there?
Filming. It wasn't an evil drone like from the sheriff dept. I believe it was from a marketing firm that was out there filming independently of the news crew.

Jimmy Buffet just came out with a heartfelt, sincere video in support of Amendment #2!!
I know that name might not mean as much outside of Florida. He is still pretty big juju in this state.

Alot of his parrot-heads(fans) are not your typical Amendment #2 supporters, so this should be interesting to see if we can pull some votes over to our side with his endorsement. Polls are reporting higher than normal turnout, which should bode well for us also. Hopefully, the "potheads" and "stoners" and what the Sheriff of Pinellas County described as, "people who want to sit around with strobe lights, watching "Cheech and Chong" and smoking joints", are the cause of this unusually "high" turnout.(Sorry, I couldn't resist lol)

"Conducted by Anzalone List Grove Research, the poll found 62 percent of respondents said either they have or would vote “yes” on Amendment 2, 35 percent will vote “no” and 3 percent say they do not know. It is just enough to meet the 60 percent threshold of voter approval of a Florida constitutional amendment.

The poll also found more intense interest among voters Amendment 2; 52 percent of voters have either already voted Yes or say they are “strongly yes” voters on Amendment 2. Only 29 percent of opponents already voted no or say they are “strongly no” voters on medical marijuana.
" --I'll take trending upward at this stage of the game. Maybe Buffet's endorsement and some other prominent newspapers coming out in favor, pushes us over the edge.

Heeeerre's Jimmy!!

All along I've thought it would pass with no problem but the last couple of days has really cast a shadow on my outlook. The very existence of PACS and now Super PACS is effectively dismantling our republic, especially when the super rich can basically purchase whatever outcome they want. The one thing that troubles me the most is that one man who resides 2000 miles away can financially contribute 85% on a matter where he does not reside.

I've already voted early and I'd say at least 90% of the people I have brought up the subject with were for it but was shocked at some of the folks who were against.

It also troubles me that the state is releasing tallies on the gubernatorial race (which is very close) but not on the amendment. Millions have voted by absentee or early voting and they have been counted, the numbers should be published at least daily.

What troubles me is that Rick Scott and Charlie Crist are even on the ballot let alone the top Florida candidates. Its embarrassing considering their past history.

The silver lining is the relationship between Charlie Crist and John Morgan of the Morgan and Morgan law firm. As OF mentioned above... The firm is not only for Amendment 2 it is putting it's time, money and presence into getting it passed. Crist works for the firm.

Please send positive vibes! Me, and so many others @mvapes need this to pass so badly!! My husband and myself already early voted.

I am now on TEN RX drugs daily, and I really need more legal alternatives before I get any sicker. To the people that voted no, a big fat fuck you to you! I pray you never get as sick as me, and have to be pumped full of pharmaceuticals. I hope whoever it is you pray to has mercy on your soul.

Got up early this morning and staked my "Yes On #2" signs in the ground outside the church I vote at alongside all the others(there were none for the "No On #2" opposition, that's strange:dog:).
Second in line to vote. Out to the polls and then onto the after party.

If anyone is in St. Pete tonight, election watch party for the "Yes On #2" campaign is being held at Fresco's Waterfront, join us on this historical day for Florida.

I voted by absentee ballot weeks ago as did everyone in my family of voting age. They have also had early voting at the polling stations for awhile now. No need to leave the confines of your home or wait until the last day to cast your vote.

Wife and I just voted. Not one sign for or against amend #2 around the polling place.
