I don't understand the obsession with the flavor. It tastes like dirt and grass to me. Unless you guys have some vanilla-flavored weed I don't know about :)
Look something is not right?
My stuff I vaporized taste very good in the VAP2!

If your flowers taste like grass?
Don't blame the device!

What grass?

gosh, maybe, but i didn't think so ... guess i better stfu.

Oh- I didn't mean my question to be rhetorical at all, sorry if it came off mean Hippie! I was literally just asking cuz I wasn't sure haha. I just know how the heat builds up in the vap and I imagined that it would lead to higher levels of conduction, perhaps after extended use only though.

Edit: perhaps i was mistaking radiant heat for conduction?

There is certainly some conduction and radiation involved in the equation (true with most vapes IMO), but the majority of heat energy is coming from the convective flow of heated air making a U-turn in the Vapo IMHO.

I kinda thought that If you don't pull your stems between hits it becomes very much a conduction vape since it will roast as it sits. But pulling out the bowl between hits makes it mostly convection.

For convection vaporization to occur, you need to have the entire "bowl" area up to temp. If not, then the heat energy will be absorbed by the cooler surroundings before it can to the dirty work of freeing the trichomes from their earthly burden and transport them into your body for enlightenment.

If you leave the stem in between hits, you will lose some vapor to conduction and radiation IME, but the tradeoff is hits that start off nice and "hot" with vapor goodness.

This isn't my experience, with like say my EV2 where with a room temperature bowl (and in the winter my vaping room temp is the same temp as outside)i just fill it and then set it in the unit and pull a giant tasty convection hit and remove it all within 20 seconds. I'm pulling the heat through the herb to make it convection where as leaving the bowl on for minutes then hitting it adds some conduction and radiant vaporization as well.

Works exactly the same with my Vapolution, or so i thought ...

at least that's how i always believed convection vs conduction worked.

Is my understanding off and wrong ?

Vaporizers with sufficient power (flame based, EVO, HI, Sublimator) can heat the entire vapor chamber quite quickly, but it is still heating up the entire bowl area to a thermal equilibrium needed to provide maximum vapor output.

I don't disagree with your assessment at all. But some vaporizers work much better after the radiant heat in the chamber does the heavy lifting allowing the hot air to start working quicker on vapor extraction.

Quickly or slowly, the chamber gets thermally soaked for optimal vapor production IME.

So, guys... I need some help. I tend to vape at night right before going to bed, because I noticed I sleep a lot better when I do this. However, vaping every day is starting to do a number on my throat, so I need a cooling solution :) Especially since I have a naturally high tolerance and have to vape at higher temps than most of you seem to.

Wondering if you guys have any recommendations? I read the first 15 or so pages of this thread, and several of you mentioned using this vape with a water pipe. I've never owned a water pipe and know absolutely NOTHING about them. Is this the best way to go about it? And if so, what would you recommend? Preferably something that won't break the bank. I don't really want to spend a fortune on one; the amount I am willing to spend would depend on the likelihood that it would work with whatever future vape(s) I would purchase, vs only working with this one.

As an aside, I don't care about losing flavor. I've used the AIW bowl and the whip attachment, and actually prefer the whip because a) it's more flexible and b) the vapor isn't *quite* as hot when it reaches my throat.

A bubbler at the end of that whip should help. Check the cheap bubbler thread for the latest catches.

I want to give a shout out to Rude Boy  The Vapolution Wax/Oil Kit works killer. I've had it for about a week now and I can't get enough. I hope they make something like the buddy bowl/AIW for the Vapolution. The plastic washers work fine but it's nice when you don't have to keep watching that the tube isn't pushing down on the glass tube. Thanx...

Glad it worked for ya.

I only use bud and now only use the "new straight bowl 'aka' the replacement infuser bowl" when i use the whip/vapor barrel combo(still my favorite with the vapolution), they really make using the straight bowls much simpler since i like to remove the bowl after a hit or two and found the washers were getting too loose to use every few days for me.

Seems it would be handy to add that option to the concentrate bowls too.

Hi all. I bought a 2.0 almost two months ago and it worked great for a while (my wife uses it, primarily for anxiety). But now it doesn't seem to be working properly. At first, the herb was browning at the top of the bowl, but not the bottom (which is weird, because most problems seem to be the opposite). Now, it just doesn't seem to be cooking anything very well. We've been using it set to about 1:00. We've cleaned it pretty good. It's frustrating because she keeps getting this partially vaped herb that ends up making her more anxious instead of less. The vaporizer is basically useless at this point. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I tried messaging Vapolution through the contact form on their site a few days ago, but I haven't heard back from them. Thanks for any advice.

Have had the exact same problem over the last week or so. I used to get much bigger hits with mine than I do now. I think I might've ruined mine by using it for DMT, so decided to buy a Da Buddha vape and just use the VP2.0 exclusively for DMT.

Hey folks even though I've jumped ship to a heavy hitting flame based rig, I must say that the glass on glass taste is beyond reproach.
