So what is the glass and how did you rig the adaptor? Haven't been at this forum in a while but wanted to check out some posters who had done this sort of thing a ways back. And how does it hit?

I've never done this but I believe it's just silicone on any male adapter I assume. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please

Correct, simple yet effective. 5/8" food grade silicone tubing, 14/14 male/male adapter and Persei Bubbler:

Hi,

has anyone ever tried or had success repairing their Pax? I know it voids the warranty, but I am in Europe and can't take advantage of it, anyway (bought it in the US). Because my temp button got stuck and eventually fell into the device because I pushed it too hard, I opened it, but some tiny pieces fell out immediately, and I don't see how I can actually repair the button (i.e. put it back in its place) and put it back together. Now, I put everything in a bag so nothing gets lost. I'm afraid I broke it. If I posted some pictures of the pieces, would somebody be able to tell me how to get working again? This could be interesting for others, too.

Thanks,
Dude

My local headshop sells them for $250, so there must be some sort of wholesale pricing for retailers.
Bought mine on sale from a local headshop for $200 plus tax a little less than a year ago! Newest model at the time...so was very lucky. Soon after they went up from $250 normal price to about $300.

About the Ryot case... I don't know if I have a nose of a canine but when my friend used his pax and put it inside the case and in his pants I could smell it. I guess Ill just have to get one of those smell proof zip lock type bags and get a ryot case as well. Hopefully itll fit inside.

Have to agree. I can still barely smell my unit in the case. Not so bad when clean, but after a week or two of usage, the case just helps contain the smell. Still a very necessary purchase as it protects the "shit" out my Pax. I added a skin right before the case and my Pax is in great condition.

This is still a solid vape for the money, all things considered. No vape has the simplicity, performance, sleekness and STEALTH of this unit. I do think that will change very shortly...but for now, it still has that going for it

My spoiled beagle puppy dropped his big ass bone right on my pax and put a nice little dent in it not that bad but like a scratch or dent in a car it hurts and I notice it lol.
Still works flawlessly either keep it or buy a diamond pax?!

clukx,
my pax gets clogged a lot. like gummed up especially where the metal mouthpiece goes into the body. it gets junked up- like to the point that its making it a pain in the ass- i have to clean it with an alcohol pipe cleaner about once every 4-5 ovens. am i grinding my flowers up too finely? i mean, in just a few ovens, its sticky. thats bologna if you ask me.

also, i wish the pax had a battery display, where you can see how much juice is left. many times ive half cooked a bowl to have it shut off. thats most annoying.

also stirring it is a pain in the ass. i take 5 hits, stir, 5 more, stir and then 5 or so more, until there is that thoroughly vaped taste going on. to take the lid off, stir, press it down, wipe my fingers etc. its not so difficult as it is annoying and after a while it becomes parlour habit and a kind of sophisticate-wank that can get old quickly.

i love the taste of the pax, but its a high maintenance tool is it not? neat and slick in design, yet its still a bit too fat to go completely undercover and look like a typical e-cig. i wanted to take it to the stadium the other week, but relented. its not that slick. its fat, really, and hitting it looks like im doing a glory hole at a rap concert. in sum, its not elegant. i digress, what i love about it, is that you get 4-5 really great tasting hits, and 10 more not so great. as a personal vape, slick to hold and just a nice instrument to use, its nice. but i dont think its worth it, as a portable, nor as a stay at home. its like in the middle. you can get vape pens for concentrates that you cannot tell from a nicotine vape. totally slick and the smells too are hard to distinguish. so for portability, its not worth almost $300 (when you count the glycerin, extra screens, pipe cleaners, alcohol) so its not the best to take around, and for home, its easily not the best. i really dont know, when considering all the options, why i got it, but it does work well. i get huge clouds and it tastes great. i think i would have gone with a better home vape and then just use a concentrates pen if i wanted to take it out. i dont know. its just a bit of a fuss to use. im using alcohol, glycerin, and screens in ways i didnt think would actually be to get the product working. that is, without those three things, the pax is junk. thats kinda the definition of high maintenance eh? needing other parts as essential, and if not, it gums up and is basically a resinated paperweight. cheers lads!

Mine did that. Never got hot again, no matter what I did. It needs to go back to Ploom. They replaced mine no problem even gave me some freebie goodies when it returned.

Does anyone know of a generic charger that would work just as well as the ploom version. I still have the plastic docking part and feel that 35.00 for a new charger is way too much. I'v been flipping through this thread but its just way too big.

Regarding the battery display, if you shake the device it will flash a color code to tell you the status of the battery.

Ploom's power supply is a 9v 1.3 amp model with a 4mm connector, inside positive. This one is under $4.00 shipped on Amazon. I have not tried this particular power supply, can't guarantee it is compatible. Just trying to help out. (note: it's a 1 amp power supply)

i want to sell my pax .. how can i get it clean... so sending it over the boarder will not be problematic... if i would get it clean i would post it in the classiefied thread... any ideas

I would be nervous sending it internationally. I had to send mine back when it failed and I spent a long time cleaning it but you can never get it totally, 100% clean. I was pretty nervous sending it through the mail but it went across the country no problem.

Picked up this little guy to tide me over while my Cloud EVO is in the shop for repairs. I have to say... after a day of use, I'm super impressed. It really gets the job done -- and with reasonable efficiency when you use two screens.

I did notice some oil/electric smell and performed two dry runs as suggested, which eliminated the problem.

How often do you all clean this thing? In the future, this will be my vape on the go. For the next week, however, I'll be using it multiple times per day. Should I plan to clean daily?

I don't think you need to clean it daily but if you are using it multiple times per day I'd probably go every 2-3 days. Some might go longer but then you really start sacrificing taste and you can't really afford to do that with the Pax in my opinion.

I put my Pax up for months, simply because I felt like it needed cleaning every other day and I ended up purchasing a few other devices. I got it out for the first time in prob 7 months, worked great. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it did.

Great for sporadic use, not so much for daily use.

^ gonna have to agree with you. tastes great and works well. but damn high maintenance and it gets sticky and is a pain in the ass to clean. and i clean it well and boy does it taste great. but wtf its like a relationship and honey, you needs to take care of yo self.
