MiniVAP Vaporizer

Almost there...
Does anyone pre-heat their MV before starting a session?

My routine is to turn on the MV and load a basket into the flexicone, fit that to the lid and tighten onto the MV.
Wait for solid green, remove top, inhale through empty unit twice, replace lid and start session. You can also just wait for solid greens with the top off...(added this after the MV effects were lessening, just before hitting post reply...)

I find that by doing this I get instant hits and clouds!!
The shorty glass straw is also great to use!

Try the pre-heat and see if it works as well!

I was one of the first in this thread to get a miniVap and test it. I have started to have issues with the battery and was wondering if battery issues have been discussed yet? What happened to me was with a fully charged battery, the mini would shut off while warming up during the first few minutes of being turned on. The battery would have to be put on the charger for about five minutes and then would be able to turn the mini back on and it would warm up and last long enough for an extended session. Eventually it would not heat the mini up any longer. @Roger D have you had issues with your battery yet? Has anyone tried replacing the battery in the battery pack yet? Does anyone know what type of battery is in the battery pack?

It's a well known issue, you either send them the battery for repair, or ask for a new cell pack to do it yourself. I changed it by myself the last time.

LL,
I do not preheat/ clear the vapor passage. So do you remove the top and inhale directly from the chamber?

I do notice there is a slight delay on the first hit. Especially noticeable if my wife hits it first as she does not inhale very deep so now I always start--she might say I'm not sure I got anything.
Thinking about it--I tend to leave it assembled but take a couple very short sharp draws and exhale right away, like I'm priming it. So, sort of similar but different.

I think I'll try your way for grins.

Roger,
was your cellpack under warranty or $$ ?
How much did it cost if not warranty?
Does the bottom just unscrew--is it easy to replace?
Thanks.

It was under guaranty luckily. You may need special screwdrivers to open it depending on your model, I have one with star shaped screws, another with conventional. You need a very pointy object to release the connectors from the two circuits inside, then you have to clip the two from the new cell pack back. You need a voltage tester and make sure to reference everything before you start so you put them back properly with the right poles. It's pretty quick and easy if you know exactly what you are doing.

Yes inhale directly from the chamber.
I just do two hits and then cap it and clouds here we come!
Try it, you may just like it!

That works.......but the decarb kit I think was the answer to this. I have one. It is.:brow:

Edit: The more I think about it, your method should improve the decarb kit with even more effect.

I gotta get me a Decarb ring.. Dammit! Been putting it off for some reason.
As for the battery. I've yet to have any issues and that's the same one I got back in April as I only sent the units back for my warranty issues.

I read before here that peoples are able to kill a small basket in 2 or 3 hits....I can't do that, except when I get a very poor quality flower, habitually a small basket of high grade flower give me 5-10 nice big hits and the same amount of whispier hits (through water and I thought I get good enough lungs).

Edit: but I like to get a dark brown abv since I don't save it anymore!

Same here. Even with small amounts of high grade flower I get many many hits.

Even when i partly fill a small bowl i can get 5+ decent hits from it and then the ABV is only a light straw colour.
It takes a lot more hits to get it to dark brown.
If i go through my WT the amount of hits decreases slightly but the vapour is much denser due to the extra volume being pulled through the flexicone.

from page 66 and Roger D posting

  1. I found a way to have the decarbox ring to stay in. Remove everything till you see the heater, put one screen, the decarbox ring, then the small teflon ring.

    eP5De3.jpg
It replaces standard teflon? liner. Theory is that it retains heat better, giver denser clouds
etc.
It must be out of stock as I searched a couple sites that carry accessories and usually list it
but not there. Must be out of stock. Like all mV accessories it is super pricey.
$30???
Search back a few pages as someone measured and you can buy like 2 feet of stainless tubing that would work when cut for $8??

I don't have it and for my useage see no reason to get one as it is awesome as is.
your situation may be different

Just want to point out that mine did not require me to use the original Teflon small ring so it would stay in place. Mine works just fine when swapped out in the same configuration as the original Teflon meaning large ring/screen/small ring/screen.

I ordered mine directly from Hermes....even with overseas shipping it took 10 days to get to me in the USA.

So when you buy the MiniVap does it come configured as described above? If not what would you need to do so

No, the metal liner is the "decarbox ring" accessory. The stock chamber liner is white teflon.
I cannot find the price of the decarb ring as it must be out of stock, so not currently listed but I
think it was $30 or more. You need to disassemble your chamber and install this in place of it.

I think the stock system is superb, no need for this. but some opt to have it...
One should probably try stock first and then decide.

Has anyone had any luck contacting Hermes regarding a defective units? I have tried on a number of occasions to fill out their warrantee claims page on their site but never got a reply or acknowledgment of my messages. It has been going on for months now and I have been left with out a functioning unit. I'm a medical patient as well so I Kind of needed something reliable, its only reason I forked out the massive price tag.
Any help guys would be greatly appreciated.

@ShayWhiteGrow Awesome videos!!!
Really liked the "WHOOAA" In the MV one! Thought i was the only one that made that sound on occasion ..

How would you rate the flavour between those two vapes?
Are we talking something in the same league or is one leaps ahead?

Been looking at a Crafty, but first have to start saving again!
