Anyone having trouble connecting the Crafty to the app? App seems to find the the vape but the SN save- button is still greyd out after entering the sn.

Sometimes my Crafty will connect to my Nexus 5 and sometimes it won't. Right now, it won't. The app appears to be a bit buggy right now. I'm sure they will get it ironed out soon.

Great Scott!
If it doesn't connect for me I power it on and power it off immediately, and it has ALWAYS connected on the 2nd try so far.

I thought that was intended actually, so BT wasn't on 24/7. Is it supposed to be able to connect even when it hasn't been on for hours?

Either way, just turn it on and off immediately, and it should connect after. Also works for me if I plug in a charger, it'll always connect after that.

Thanks for the suggestion @darkrom but neither worked for me. I tried both of your suggestions and also restarting my phone. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked and my app continues to say "No vaporizer found" when I try and connect.

Just got my crafty. The manual says it comes with 80% charge but I need to charge it to full before using. What is the reason for that? Would anything bad happen to the device if I just started using it before charging to full? Its been plugged in for about 30min and I am excited to try it.

Actually the light just turned solid blue. I guess its ready

Turning it on/off doesn't do the trick, still unable to connect/ the SAVE-button is greyed out. Nor re- charging. Tried everything so far, even did a phone reset. Hopefully the app is to blame and not the vape itself, would hate to do the whole warranty- thing after just getting the unit.

That's all well and fine for you elmomuzz :tup:good for you. I'm happy you think less is more, but only getting 28 hits out of one charge is still piss poor performance in my book.

Thats fewer hits than you get in one session in any other rechargeable I've ever owned and most give me 4-5 sessions. Pretty sure one charge off the DV or NO2 is going to allow you to vape a whole lot more herb(4-5 times as much) per charge at that rate which would make them a bit more useful (to me at least) when on the road.

If You can actually believe less than 30 hits on a charge is an improvement we live on different planets.

I could be wrong but most battery chemistries require numerous cycles to reach capacity.

My first impressions:

I have owned MFLB, Vapor Genie, Iolite, Pax, Firefly, and now the Crafty and hands down the Crafty is the best portable I have ever used by far. The Pax and Firefly are in second place but way behind the Crafty. Storz & Bickel have thought of the entire experience of ownership and have crafted a solution for each problem.

The first amazing thing about the Crafty is the draw resistance. No longer do I feel like I am sucking out of a really thin straw. I can inhale with ease and this is so important for me. With the Pax and Firefly I have to use quite a bit of effort to take a draw, there is just so much draw restriction. It must be hard to make a product like this with very little draw resistance because no other portable have I tried has come close to how well the Crafty performed in this area.

Second is ease of filling and unloading the herb chamber. The filling tool they designed is so handy. You don't have to touch the herbs yourself when filling and it also stores your herb too.

Unloading is very easy, just pour out the herbs, and the chamber looks brand new. The chamber is wide and open and makes it really easy to brush of loose particles. From the looks of it, I feel like the chamber will stay really clean without much maintenance, similar to the filling chamber in the volcano. But time will tell.

Another big plus is the fact that no stirring is required. What a pain it was opening up the Firefly or Pax and trying to stir it. And you really needed to because the Firefly or Pax did not vape the herbs evenly. But the Crafty does, without any stirring it vapes the herbs evenly.

The default starting temperature is perfect for me. It roasts the erb to a nice dark brown color and gives you tons of huge hits. It rather amazing. It is much more efficient with smaller amounts of material than the volcano because of the size of the chamber.

Storz & Bickel did it again, they held to their own standards and waited until they got it right. And they did get it right. I wonder how long ago they started development on these?

Just tried Crafty for the first time and I am medicated. This little thing gets you ripped . . . :D But seriously, what an amazing product, everything reeks of quality, quality, quality. The filling aid turns out to be really cool, I love it, kinda like a small attachable funnel. The cooling unit works amazingly well, the vapor is tasty and smooth. Not a ginormous amount of visible vapor at 356*F but very tasty indeed and quite medicating. I should mention that my meds are really dry and almost a year old. The app works perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy S4. Anyways I'm not going to repeat what everyone is saying but so far I am very pleased . . .

I think we should all send @Mr. Gweilo 420 some positive energy since he is still waiting for his Crafty.

More l8tr . . . :peace:

Glad you're liking it! You can set your booster temperature to less than 32F?

This puzzled me at first. Well 32*F is 0*C so I think what is happening is when it switches from F to C its converting the temps but not adding them. Try setting the boost at 32*F/0*C and then activate it. It buzzes right when it should at the regular set temp, not 32*F higher. See what I mean? Adding zero C is adding nothing. It works correctly in *C but when you convert to *F it doesn't compute. If it did the default boost temp would be over 400 not 383 because 15*C = 59* F. Add that to the original set temp and it doesn't add to 383 which is the boost temp at +15*C. Is this making sense to anyone?

It seems the issue of the booster temp is limited to the Fahrenheit setting? Didn't seem to notice any issue when in Celsius mode. Could lower the booster temp as low as I wanted. Will verify in 30 minutes when I'm off work though.

Obviously this is an error and will hopefully be fixed by S&B in the app soon.

Yeah its converting the temps and not adding them properly to the set temp in Fahrenheit mode. Works fine in Celsius mode.

The cooling chamber is bigger on the Mighty. Does this mean that the Mighty provides a cooler hit?

Also, if partially filled and one uses the oil pad as a spacer, how does this affect the vapor being that it has to pass through the oil pad?

I just noticed something else. When Crafty is off for a while it "sleeps" so your phone can't find it. Turning it back on reconnects it, but, I found out that just tapping the button, not long enough to start the heater, also wakes it up and reconnects to the phone app. Also the manual says you have to touch +/- at the same time to convert from C to F but all you have to do is touch the temp/battery display and it does it also.

That is what I was saying earlier. That is how mine behaves, but I guess others have no luck even with the crafty turned on.

Please excuse me if it's somewhere already but you would not believe how high I got during and after too recent robotic cancer surgery ...the battery? 18650? 26650? Something entirely else ?

About my high? I don't even know. Honest to god. I am using massive amounts of THC trying to come down.

so...I'm really digging the comments that this is a portable Plenty...But, I am a little butthurt, lol, that everyone keeps saying how much of a hog the Plenty is. While it can be a hog if you so choose, I use mine quite efficiently...

Hearing these positive reviews makes me want to sell my Pax for a crafty though...thanks assholes for ruining a perfectly good marriage. Now I'm considering the idea that the grass is truly greener. (we all know this is just the beginning of the end for my Pax)

@t-dub many thanks my friend. Unfortunately I am still waiting :( My wife asked me where my packages was at last night. I told her I have stopped checking and thinking about it. Its better for me that way. It will turn up eventually :) It is great to hear all of the good reviews though.

@Curiousone I hear what you are saying about the Plenty. I agree it can be used in a more efficient manner. There are so many misconceptions about the Plenty unfortunately. Mine doesn't see much use these days but I believe it to be one of the most underrated vapes personally.

The pax has its place. Its smaller. Its almost half the price. Its got a 10 year warranty. The pax wasn't right for me, even though I've owned 3 now...

My friend on the other hand genuinely says he prefers it to the crafty somehow. He loves the crafty too, but maybe he is just sentimental on the pax, but I think its also got to do with him "missing" smoking as often as he used to. He likes conduction vapes with the throat hit.

I know for me there is very slim chances of a 4th pax, especially now that I have the crafty. I find myself resorting to old habits wondering if I have enough battery or buds. I vape one bowl and I'm good for a LOT longer than I am with my other vapes. I'm curious how long I can sustain that, because the duration of the high is significantly longer than any portable, and most desktops I use. Maybe it is that I vape bowls pretty quick with back to back large hits with this thing. That could help account for it.

price is pretty much the only thing other portables have going for em now.

That's not true.

Some portable vapes are more efficient.
Some portable vapes have a smaller form factor and therefore, stealthier.
Some portable vapes require no heat up time.
Some portable vapes only have heat applied to the herb when you are hitting it.
Some portable vapes come with a longer warranty.

To state that price is the only advantage that other vapes may have for everyone else is simply not true.

Guys, please understand, I am not hating on the S&B vapes at all. As a matter of fact, the Crafty has my attention so much, I'm actually contemplating getting one, but I think the pedestal that some of you are putting them on may be a bit too high.
