Hey random question, I've been using the stem lately and am wondering if I should let it cool for the most part before putting it back inside the plastic tube it came in? I normally don't want to wait and just put it away. I don't know if it matters but every time I use it that question comes to mind.

I always let mine cool first @vaplen - driven by the fact that I do have a bit of a thing about plastic degradation.... :mental: :)
I'm the same way. I feel like you have to cautious these days. My new habit similar to this one is keeping my phone away from me while I am just sitting my room. Supposedly it gives off some radiation or something.

I forgot who mentioned they recently discovered putting the load further away keeps it tastier and lasts a bit longer but after 4 months of use I just started doing the same thing because of all this talk about "epic recommended distance" or whatever. I feel I was doing @Caligula's method which is to have it closer and do the 2 hits.

Yesterday I received my E-Nano and of course tried it out for the first time.

The first time (I actually tried it twice yesterday :D) I preheated at max. temperature for like 10-15 minutes, turned it down to 6,5 and packed aprox. 0.3g into the bowl of the stem. I tried different drawing techniques and played a little with the temperature settings. At 6 I got the best flavour and at 6,5 I got the best clouds with very good taste too. From this amount of herb I got like 10 decent draws which gave me a very pleasant and uplifting high that felt a lot cleaner than combusting.

The second time I tried it, I used the same amount and got like 15 decent draws which got me significantly more medicated than combusting this amount usually gets me. I didn't go higher than 6,5 because the vapor was drying my throat out rather quickly (I have to add that I was and am still recovering from a cold, so my throat wasn't in the best conditions). This time the high was more like when I combust (not as clear as the first one and not as gentle on the breathing organs lol, but again it may very well be due to the fact that I had a cold:lol:)

I'm very happy with the Nanos efficiency, as well as with it's usability.

However I have a few questions:
It says 125/220v on my step down converter. I've seen that the E-Nano is designed to work with 120v. Is there a problem in using a 125/220v converter? I'm thinking about getting this step down converter anyway, as it's 120/220v and is a lot lighter, too:
http://www.amazon.es/1aTTack-Transf...Reftage_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1576JVVBTYRP4ZF9ZESP

¿Is it usual that you get such a variation in the amount of draws you get? It was actually the same strain, same tempereature and I think aprox. the same amount too.

¿Is there a problem in leaving the E-Nano at 6,5 for about 20 minutes? I'm not a fast consumer, I like to take my time, but I was worried that it might damage the Nano. I read in another thread that you can leave it on 24/7 (which I won't because I'm using a 100w step-down converter), but I guess the person who said it meant you can leave it on at standby not at 6,5 as I was using it.

¿How often should I clean the stem? The bowl already has some residue in it which I can't get out with the Epik.

¿Is it better to leave some distance between the stem and the heating element or should they touch each other? On the instruction sheet it says I should "place the glass stem gently onto the stainless steel heater core" but maybe you guys have tried different techniques and know some pro's and con's of each one of them.

I think that's all for now, I'm still learning how to use it, but I'm pretty sure I will enjoy this little vape very much:D
Thanks to everyone who helped me out and also to everyone who would like to share some tips and tricks:tup:

Peace :peace:

Away with the fairies
So its arrived @Brachmanhuxley - awesome news! :)

Like you, I don't leave my Nano on all day - because I use a step-down. I'd say, if you intend to leave a good while between hits, it's probably best to turn it down - since it can get pretty hot to the touch otherwise. Saying that, when I have friends around - and we're using it pretty much continuously - I haven't had any problems leaving it between 5.5 & 6.5 for the whole session. While you can use it after just a few minutes heat up - it does tend to hit more consistently after it has been heating up for at least 8-10 mins IMO.

How often you clean your stems is a personal preference I guess. I always used to clean mine after one days use - but have tended to slack of on that a little lately. I never leave it too long though (2-3 days max - depending on usage) - because a dirty stem does have a significant influence on the flavour.

@Enchantre's vid will help with stem placements, and it's a pretty comprehensive intro to this vape.....

Happy Nano-ing! :peace:

Now an official owner of a Nano.*

1. Do brass screens scratch up the glass stems? Otherwise, it seems pretty easy to clean often.

2. Has anyone noticed that small bits of finely ground herb can fly up the stem and into your mouth through the standard screens? Placing another brass screen about 1-2" away from the basket screen helps keep that to a minimum. Would putting a piece of cotton instead filter out too much of the thc? I know you could vape he cotton ball later, but it still sounds like it might waste some. Perhaps just like one end of a q tips cotton picked off.

3. How many stems do you guys usually vape in a session?

3. Session lasts from 5 pm till 11 pm. I vape pen wax 3 puffs and then 2 hours or so of E nano goodness. Probably 3 or 4 short bowls of 5 pulls max. Repeat till bed. Unless it is a cookie day. Then way less. Skip wax and 5 shorties for the night.
2.Almost a year and no bits flying into mouth. (or I am not cognizant of them) Try a light pack on your bowls. Tamp it down with E Pick.
1. Glass, it always breaks. Sooner or later. I order stems by the 5 pack. I use one every two days and clean them all at once . I have one tube for designated dunk tank and sweet oil collector. Drop in 91% Iso and stem. Shake, rinse and dry.

Thorough post! Nice.

Do you grind your bud by hand? If so you might have bigger chunks, hence the not getting bits flying up the stem. You don't see tiny bits stuck to the stem glass where the vapor resin made it sticky?

That's a long ass session. Nice lol

If you were to just want to get stoned quickly, how much would you think you'd use?

Also, do you guys use the stem as a vacuum for the herb to load it? It's kinda cool.

Also, I'd like to add that the nano feels and looks very well made so far.

Get stoned quickly = .1 in the bowl instead of .05. Ill have maybe 4 of these bowls in a good gettin stoned session.

The vacuum method is the best! You always have to explain yourself in groups though! .. ("Hey, wtf, are you snorting weed?")

IMO the nano doesnt get too hot to the touch. I leave mine at 6.5-7 24/7 but I am USA so i don't use a step down. If I was in a 220V country and using a step down I wouldn't leave it running 24/7 either, but if you have a nice transformer I wouldn't be worried about running it for 8~ hours at a time. Maybe not 24/7, but pretty close to constantly would be okay. If you have a cheaper transformer maybe just plug it in as necessary and give 20mins for heatup if you unplug your nano and reheat it from cold.

I will inhale thru my gong to fill it up loosely, and fill it almost to the top, and hold the nano right on top of th egong so it just barely clears the top and take giant massive hits. As i stir it gets more compressed and eventaully can just leave the nano sitting on top and the heater doesn't hit the load.

I will fill my gong between 1/4 full and almost all the way full, usually i just sit down and do 5 or 6 or 10 sessions in a row.

my daily drivers must be easy to repack and keep going as i like to do many many sessions in a row with a gong and glass...

Interesting idea! Further research is needed

I leave mine on from morning to bed time....if I remember to turn it off. I worry about people talking about turning it up all the way to heat it up. This is wood and wood doesn't like the conditions we put it through. So I try not to push it. With that being said I have never heard of anyone having problems but I think it deserves the care that it gives me back. I treat it like an angel and it treats me like a whore!:o With a converter, I wouldn't use anything but the best, I would think it should be the same as our power source? Tell me if I am wrong, it won't be the first time.
Glass does break but think before you partake. I use mine over carpet. Tile bad! I have a back up but usually don't need it. When I push the screen out it cleans the gong out. At the 18mm part I use my Epic to gently remove the gong hash! Wow half a mouse turd added to a bowl will increase the potency and the amount of vaper by 1/3.....Yes 1/3! I swear I measured it!:freak: I also love to recycle the wand hash in the stem. Let it get fury like a catapillar and when you push the screen out it will fill with hash and Wow! This thing is the gift that keeps on giving! Have I mentioned that I love my Enano? Have I mentioned I love beer? I bet in the morning I will wish I didn't hit post?:myday::mental:

Mines also plugged into a 100w step down too and it's on all the time I am at home and not sleeping. I turn it off only if I leave the house or go to bed...
This can be anywhere from 10-18 hrs a day, usually at 6.5, although I might take it down to 6 if I won't be using it for a couple of hours.

Hmmm i also had it in my plastic tube.... hmmm but if it isn t heat resistent silicone then it will maybe melt... if you don t belief me i would ask andy before.... why do you want silicone anyway... glass is much safer and healthier ... but do what you want... i am out... i am to stupid for this wise forum i think....

Have fun and please tell us (me) later what happened...
A) Nobody is too stupid for this forum. If you are smart enough to find this forum you belong here.
B) I started using the silicone sleeve to protect the stem and protect my fingers from getting burned. I use my E-Nano at night and I got tired of picking up the hot end off of the desk. LOL. It is high temp silicone and it is placed far enough away from the heat source as to not be a problem. If you guys don't want or appreciate the sleeve I'll stop providing it.

I think it's necessary to include the silicone sleeve because of the burn hazard and lack of a something better to hold onto. We would not need it if you made the GonG's 1-2 inches longer or added a simple handle. Personally, I would prefer the extra length to catch the reclaim and not need to have the silicone that gathers dust.

The silicone is great. It isn't in the air path anyway. Touching the hot end of the stem sucks.

I got inspired by the wall hook idea and set out to the dollar store with a mission. I found some sturdy potato chip bag clips and some little wall hangers with a strong adhesive on the back.

Now I never have any issues with the cord, whether I'm using it at my desk or on my bed (as shown)

I agree, I used to label my Silicone with a HOT!!! Disclaimer and arrows pointing to the stem's bowl, but the label would were off.

I have plenty of silicone tubing laying around to make my own, but I'm sure most users don't own any.

This gives me an idea for a custom stem. Red glass where the stem/GonG gets hot and then blue where it is safe to touch. Now if I could only afford to buy one right now, hah.

Handle on the gong would be pretty slick! ^^^^^ Where did that one come from?

Anyways, not the common experience here, but I removed the silicone sleeve from both of my gong's the day I received them and have never missed them. The only time where perhaps I have somewhat of an issue, is in a very recessed dewaar joint where I can't even get my fingers around it, but i'm pretty sure the silicone would just get in the way.

I had NO IDEA that folks confused the ends of the gong! I love them just the way they are, especially at $14!
