 I love my magic box! I have had mine for almost a year...I take it with me everywhere! I just wish there was a way to take it on airline flights. Whenever I go somewhere, I miss my box immensely! If you do not have one, buy one ASAP! You won't regret it!

sugarhill,
Got my PA yesterday and it is as awesome as everyone says. Didn't think that I could love my MFLB any more, but I was wrong. Might be the only method I take my medicine from now on.

I received my PA beta today and tried it. Some preliminary observations follow.

-works great and expands the functionality of the MFLB considerably with the
addition of variable temperature
-the manufacturing of the probe which simulates a battery is quite good and
the tiny black push button works well and is very ergonomic
-the stout cord connecting the probe to the thumb-wheel assembly has a tendency
to push the thumb-wheel assembly around (and off) a table. I see some
have added feet to the thumb-wheel assembly, which might ease that
somewhat.
-the thumb-wheel assembly, a metal (brass?) tube containing the adjustable
thumb-wheel and capped at each end with wooden pieces, looks very much
like a beta version. The hole in the metal tube is somewhat crudely
done and there are some scratches in the metal finish caused by the
cutting of the hole. The thumb-wheel itself in my unit is mounted at an
odd angle inside the tube and at first I thought it had gotten crushed
during shipping. These issues are purely cosmetic and functionality is
fine.

-the wall wart is a deluxe type with an LED power indicator.

-the cig lighter auto adapter appears to be about the same as the one Purple Days
ships with the PD.

edit: had button color wrong

Ia! Ia! Vapor Fthagn!
Just got my PA a short time ago, have had a little time with it. This thing is awesome. I enjoy it for its consistency of hit, you get the same amount of power no matter what. So it doesn't taper off towards the end of the bowl like a battery would do. The ability to vary the amount of power is also a plus for me. I have been enjoying toying around with the various temps.

Great to see everyone getting their PA and testing.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my PA order, thought it was ready before christmas... It's so funny when you want to give someone your money and you just can't (2 cards both declined for unknown reasons).

Enjoy, I'll get one when they're available in Europe...

The LB has become my primary travel pipe. I very seldom use it in place of my Extreme at home. It truly is my traveler....I just came back from a casino concert by Marshal Tucker and just have to rave about the how inconspicuous this thing really is. As the concert began I went to the restrooms where I revived my buz. I still hadn't used it in a crowd. Halfway through the show I used it right at my seat....what a trip. No one even knew and the seats were tightly packed. My friend said she barely smelled it and she was right next to me. Beside's, she didn't even see it in my hand or notice when I used it. Magic Flight should get some kind of industry award for this design.... I'll bet it's surpassed the total sales records of the old Proto pipe by now. It's a total work of art for sure........

thedeserttortoise,

Hey guys, another happy MFLB owner. Joined up just so I could share this pic. The MFLB can do it all :)

By far my best purchase thus far.

Hey man, great pic! What kind of glass is this and how did you make the connection with the glass?

It's a Mighty Chalice. Super thick glass, this thing is a beast. and the downstem actually tapers inward a bit which is enough for the rubber airline tubing to seal. Just inhale nice and slowly like you would in native mode.

There are many mods that can be done on your Launch Box, but be careful as many will VOID your warranty.

This is not correct. Magic-Flight honours their warranty even if you do something stupid.

Is this true? I can remove the screen/heating element from the box and they'll still honor warranty? Or if I do some wood working on the box itself?

I too am curious about this, as I like wood burning, and wanted to customize my MFLB, (after I purchase it of course.) If anyone can confirm more specifics on the warranty, that'd be great!

I do not represent Magic-Flight so I can't say exactly where they draw the line. I am simply repeating what magicflight has stated, namely that the warranty covers damage due to user error. Obviously deliberate damage is not user error. On the other hand, should you damage the box while attempting to do wood-working it might well be covered. You'd have to contact Magic-Flight with the details.

Edited because I left out a word

I let my LB combust about 10 times and now it has a burnt odor to it. I would really appreciate any advice on fixing that. I got it before i really new how to vape properly and ended up putting it away and now that i'm an expert, well i'm revisiting the LB and now it works great but i'm afraid I ruined it.

Soak a Q-tip in ISO alcohol. Gently wipe down the screen on your box with said Q-tip. Then, while keeping the cover opened, run a fully charged battery for a couple minutes until all the alcohol evaporates.

should clean it out pretty well. repeat as necessary. There isn't much more you can do to clean it than that.

Use a q-tip and dip it in a some ISO. Lightly coat the screen with the ISO and then insert a battery and let it burn off, you may also find it useful to blow into the hole on the opposite end of the Launch Box that you would normally hit it from. Doing this will forced air through the MFLB and past the screen which will expel the fumes from any ISO burning off and old herb that might be in there. Might take a couple times to get rid of the smell but it will work, also if you have another herb like Spearmint which puffitup.com sent me with my MFLB for free, that works great to cover up any nasty smell and taste.

Try doing that while someone hits it too, it's like shotgunning.

thank you guys very much. I just also noticed the screen is coming out of the side, i will probably send it in for service for that but I can still clean it and use it until i send it in.

Does anyone have any suggestions for batteries for UK folks? There's no such thing as Powerex over here!

Incidentally - how many fellow Brits post here and have a MFLB?

You can buy some good powerex batteries online somewhere.. Probably worth the shipping cost too..

I think a little common sense goes a long way. Many a great warranty policy has disappeared because of abuse. A little wood burning design doesn't strike me as drastic... but again, I'd ask MF in advance. Now, removing the screen.... that seems almost like a major dismantle considering this design..... In good conscious I don't think I could go as far as to expect a new box if it doesn't work out. Just my thought's..
