Just wondering if someone has an answer for this question i posted the other day ? seems as though it got missed.

" EDIT: ALSOOO.. With the sr74. im buying it when it comes back in stock but i want to still be able to use my SS tube (the smallest one) so i was wondering.. if i also purchase the 3.7v black rod will i be able to use the smallest tube w. just one of my aw imr's ? also i'd assume that by using the 3.7v black rod w. the sr74 you'd be using less concentrate than w. the stock 7.4v white rod? "

FINAL EDIT: Anyone know how long that 10% coupon is gonna be available on w9 ? hopefully until the 15th when the sr74 is back so i can just order everything all together.. & does the sr74 smell when not in use or is something its made of stopping that? i remember when i used to use the 2.4/5.0 original carts i had to keep them in a doobtube or else they managed to start smelling up my room when it was just sitting.

yes you would be able to, expect a little heat up time.

If your up to the challenge! I wouldn't recommend it if it's your first rodeo.

From my experience the black rod consumes about the same as the white rod.

@BeEazy yes i figured id get the hammer top along with it so i wont have to tire my fingers out waiting for the 3.7 to heat.. approx. how long would you say it takes ?

@masaki eh ive had the persei for about a year and a half now.. mastered using the old 2.4 and 5.0 carts extremely quickly. so i dont see myself to have any issues w. the sr74 besides not letting friends hit it (thats always how my old carts clogged)

@masaki do you have an answer for the second part of the question by any chance ? " & does the sr74 smell when not in use or is something its made of stopping that? i remember when i used to use the 2.4/5.0 original carts i had to keep them in a doobtube or else they managed to start smelling up my room when it was just sitting."

Ha! That's what I said when I got my first sr71.. Previously owning a v1 omicron, v2.5 omicron, then my persei.

My suggestion is to take baby steps. Can't let your confidence perceive you. I learn that time and time again. Like I am now with the 8

Recently took my SR-71 on its third road trip. Best vaporizer investment since my original Volcano over a decade ago. Glad to see W9Tech going strong as ever. Greetings to Gary and Naomi ~ the honey bee misses you and still loves his Persei! :brow:

I've got a D-Nail for my glass at home and the SR-71 for portable. Every base is covered.

I am not going to provide any new information in this post, but I will reflect that my experience is mirrored by the rest of the community. SR-71 is the ultimate portable vaporizer for high grade dewaxed shatter. The only situation where it does not work well is highly fluid CO2 oil extracts.

The only issue I have ever had with the device was not actually with the device, but with the stock batteries and a followup pair of bunk no-name/label replacement cells I blindly purchased to replace them.

I recently purchased a pair of both of these cells at a high end vapor shop in Las Vegas and they seem to work very well: 10.5A 700MAH EFEST - 10.5A 700MAH MXJO :2c:

@Vapoholic420 thx solo much 4 info

I spent my weekend sessions experimenting ---

I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED AFTER KEEPING THE 3.7V ROD ASIDE 4 SOO LONG -- ( I finally figured it out thx 2 friends and trial n error / never given up -- if others were doin it -- i was gunna -- ) - i went back 500 pages and found some happy 3.7v w/ batteries n just couldn't believe IMO -- I had 2 figure this out

@Vapoholic420 -- thx 4 the ohm info -- much much help understanding -- respect

anyone know the actual temps the rods get ? and at what stages ? -- I saw a test with one of those directional thermometers months back but cannot find the experiment ? it went into temps of coils and the rods ---- ????

back to SR74X 3.7V
after some tinkering and testing -- I got it

3.7v sr-74x on the persei SS or the core (when its not blinking like ira ira) and I don't have to put the core or iris to 4.1 or 4.5 !!!!!! 3.7v -- patience ( the hammer helps )

& now imo -- this must be the ONLY SETUP !!! -- all my wax tastes sooo good (tasting the good every time like the hercules searches and finds the taste :) ) -- no burning -- no reclaim -I find with too much inside or too hot too long and yuk -- i don't like dat taste !
- not really any going into reclaim area either ...
this is my super solution ---

now I can use batteries again -- (never had 7.4v & herc74 luck w/batteries -- pulls too much power -- the core is my goto! )

Now confidence with shorty and AW BATTERIES -- LUV THE SIZE AGAIN
super luv the taste -- n i still feel this gurl conserves wax like no tmro...

thx my friends

thx 3.7v vaping !
@invisiblefriend, no problem, glad I could help. I don't know the exact temps of the rods but I remember a video that G made not long ago with the Herc and the 8, and he had a thermocouple attached inside the Herc to read temps and he got it up to 1,100°F, and he said the batteries were low too.

I tested out that CO2 oil thing over the weekend. For some reason I just wasn't buying the notion that the SR71 could not vape it and I had to try for myself.

I started out with just a little drip but, sure enough. I got a little taste but most of it ended up in the reclaim chamber. Nothing lost really. Too bad though. I love me some CO2 oil.

Figured someone might like a laugh at my expense.

Yep, I was using two coils too. It almost works if you get the heating rod super hot and just drip it on but it gets messy pretty quick either way.

coffinoff,
Anyone got any videos of the nibble g in action im looking to buy one since theres no nibbler xls in stock right now!

@THC SCIENTIFIC when will the nibbler xl be in stock again? Any news on the v4 persei tops :brow:? Cant wait so i can finally get a hammer rod!!

haha i know this. Im usually extremely careful when first using something.. also have been reading up on the herc and watching videos since it was first released. User error is something common w. these vapes but you cant expect to master something if your too scared to try it. The herc does come at 7.4 though and i love huge rips so ill more than likely take a few days of practice w. that before i switch rods anyway (if i switch..)
I also dont live in a 420 friendly state and am barely home so the bigger tube is just not going to work for me. stealth is key which is why i purchased the ss kit as soon as i saw the size of the persei when i took it out the box. all im missing now is a black top since my silver one stands out like a sore thumb so i plan on purchasing the hammer top whenever the sr74 is back in stock.

wasnt the sr71 the herc that everyone was having problems w. when it came out ? the one that came out last april..? if so thats the reason i didnt buy it & i heard the sr74 was more forgiving for errors.

haha that picture made me laugh.. brings back memories. But i understand that the carts are nothing compared to it. What i was trying to say was alot of people were having difficulties clogging/burning out the old carts and my experience has been perfect since day 1 with the exception of a faulty cart or friends pulling to hard. so basically im figuring im a little more cautious/careful w. my approaches which would be my same way to go about tackling the sr74

SR-74x 3.7v thats the whole deal !!!!!!!!

(maybe ill set up a 2nd with the 7.4v for every once in while but i cannot see what @ this pt -- )
the taste is sooo important to me ! and @ 3.7 in the hercules wow !

I'm sure the CO was discussed ... but why is the reason it won't vape in the unit ? -- I don't understand why ... even though made different and all i thought the concentrate in the end was the end product regardless ?? I'm wrong obviously -- i guess more of a difference than an east coast guy knows bout :(

how long does the 3.7v take to heat up ? & how long does the 7.4 ? i keep seeing your posts on the 3.7 so i figure you'd have some knowledge on this.. Also for the c02 oil im on the east coast too but im pretty sure its visocity thins it out too much when heated thus having all the oil fall into the reclaim area ? not too sure but this is the idea i got.

My previous post has no relevance towards what model gave issues. Clearly trying state that the herc isn't for everyone. The sr71 was and still is a great vape!

that really sucks. co2 is definitely my concentrate of choice. Does the SR74 have the same issues? Unfortunately, I don't have either a sr71 or sr74 to try out atm.

I vape CO2 oil on the SR71 no problem. Can't overload too much and you have to be careful not to heat up the oil too much. Cool down hits are prolonged during co2 use. I usually just load my SR71 with enough to last the session. The Ti coil must be well saturated. If the oil is runny, running two coils help. On the sr71 you can expect a drop or two of oil in the reclaim chamber. No big deal. Just reclaim it and reload. The oils still taste amazing.

and i wasnt bashing it at all. it was simply a question.. In your response you specifically mentioned the SR71. i was simply asking if THATS the one that was released last april because the amount of problems MOST people were having turned me off from purchasing a herc until the redesign came out which i havent had the chance to get. You say that the sr71 should be taken slow. i understand. I also understand that the SR74 is more forgiving w. user error than the SR71..

By stating the herc isnt for everyone means nothing to me since i am purchasing it no matter what.. I do not see what other "baby steps" you expect me to take? Ive already mastered the old carts, watched all the youtube videos, and as said in the previous posts i plan on using the herc at 7.4 for a couple days to get the hang of it before i decide if i want to put in the 3.7v rod.

I dont mean for this post to come off as rude sounding. just trying to explain myself further.

Hell yeah it is, I just bought a second SR71 as a spare! I think they're just as good as the SR74. They're both the best oil carts around imo!

what voltage do you guys run the SR71 at with CO2? I am awaiting an 8/sr74 but have a 501 ego pen battery that puts out about 4 volts and runs the 3.7 uptech carts just fine (enjoying my 1701 donut right now). But the battery auto shuts after ~ 10 seconds of continuous use.

Still coming up to speed....

I use the SR71 at 7.4v with co2 oil. It should work as long as inhaling intake is good. I even use it 7.0-7.2 too. Even if the oil is runny it still works great! Usually a flooded bottom chamber indicates weak batteries and/or technique flaw. Many times I have used Pure Gold from Tetra labs. This stuff gets ultra thin when hot. From my experience it is More viscous than co2. I might get a drop or two in the bottom chamber after a few days. Don't overload with runny oils. Also running two coils helps but you must remember both coils must be fully saturated.

That's why I'm confused why your asking these questions. They mean nothing to you.. Like you stated you plan get all these items anyways.

i think kendal is just saying that hes going to do everything he can to master the herc even tho people have said its a bit too much for some people

i was told the same thing from G when i first got back into this scene but my love for high end tech pushed me to learn it anyway and i love every day i spend with my herc

because as i have said in each post. i like to look up and research things before i buy them and am very careful with how i use things so that i dont end up frying it or messing it up when i finally have my hands on it. my questions stated nothing about if i should get it or not. they were simple.

(1) does the 3.7v rod allow me to use the smallest tube in my SS kit (because stealth means alot to me.)
(2) does the herc give off an odor when not in use like the old carts use to or does the material its made out of help prevent smell leaks (because i had to keep my old carts in a doobtube)
(3) was the SR71 the one released last yr (because thats the one you specifically mentioned and at the time of its release i was on this forum quite a bit)

however YOUR responses have been telling me
(1) recommend against getting it if its my "first rodeo" - its not..
(2) take "baby steps" - ive already laid out my plan including "baby steps"
(3) the herc isnt for everyone - from my 1st post i said i was getting it so this wasnt helpful.

You basically took it to this topic. Which is why i felt the need to further explain myself before. and now again. i dont think i can spell it out any more clearly than this now.
