Am I resistant to edibles??

I made two batches of brownies. Both batches were done individually of each other and followed SLIGHTLY different recipes. Neither batch effect me a great deal even when consuming two brownies. Now when shared with friends, half a brownie seems to almost put them down. What may be my issue?

Do you tend to have a high tolerance when vaping/smoking? Also, how potent where the edibles?

I have similar issues, even though I don't have a particularly high tolerance; an edible that will completely knock out my friend who has a mega-tolerance won't do anything to me.

I have this problem as well , almost no edibles work on me . But when they do they fuck me up .
And I can not figure out why . I will have two of the same edible and one will do nothing the other will have me on the floor .
But for the most part they do nothing.

It is not uncommon for people to lack the necessary enzymes to convert THC to 11-hydroxy THC in their liver and for them, edibles just don't seem to work that well...........if at all.

X2.
that's why edible dosage is SOOOOO unpredictable. For some, the smallest dose gets them flying high while for others, it's like eating ....regular old brownies....

I used a whole ounce of high grade cannabis along with an ounce of ABV. I used 16 ounces coconut oil.I was able to retrieve 1 1/2 cups. I was using the Magical Butter Maker. I didn't notice hardly anything when I made brownies with the coconut oil, I used 1/2 cup. I made 8 brownies. I ate 4 eventually throughout 4 hours. Then I made caramels and same thing, it wasn't strong enough. It could be the Magical Butter maker too. I used the sunflower lecithin.

A time before that I used about 1/2 cup ground up ABV made 4 peanutbutter chocolate chip milkshakes with it. No lecithin was used. I had one milkshake after 2 hours couch lock city big time. I was waaaayy toooo medicated. Not a fun experience. The next day until 6 PM I could still feel it. It lasted over 24 hours. Edibles are so unpredictable. Get the dosage down.

Then I have a theory on how to make edibles work better. If one does things to improve digestive health, it may make edibles more effective. I don't really know a whole lot about it, this is just me using logic, but I will try that and see if it works.

CANNOT get my post below out of the quote above. Sorry............

Holy cr#p. So you used 1/2 cup or 1/3 of the 1 1/2 cups. you had an oz of high grade fresh and an oz of ABV. That should have launched you to Jupiter or at least the moon.
That's why edibles are so weird.
The other time you used 1/4 of 1/2 cup of ABV and you were flying.

? On the brownies, did you decarboxylate the fresh?

Holy oz Batman, those brownies would have launched me to the moon! I'm at the other extreme of the scale... my standard brownie recipe is 0.5g of hash per 16-brownie tray so that's 1/32nd of a gram per serving. If I want to be couch-locked then I use 1g and 9 brownies per tray, which is still only 1/9g per serving. ;)

Edibles are complicated because not only does everybody have different tolerances,
but also different rates and abilities of absorption and assimilation of the active ingredients.
:freak: :hmm:
This makes dosing not only fun and entertaining, but surprising as well.

And sometimes, not in a good way. Unfortunately, with edibles, most of us find that the only way to find out how much is too much is to take....................too much.

The amounts she used are similar to what I use when I make my brownies, and 1 does get you, but not overly strong, and for only a few hours. 16 oz coconut oil is just 2 cups, so 1/2oz abv and 1/2oz fresh per cup of oil. I use 1 oz fresh per cup of oil (so would be the same if she used 2 oz fresh instead of 1 abv) and most recipes call for 1/3 cup of oil, which is 1/3oz per 8x8 or 9x9 tray, which comes out to be just over a gram per brownie if you cut it into 9 equal pieces.

If you eat one and don't feel anything 1-2 hours in, eat 1/2 or 1 more and see from there. 2 of my brownies knocks out most people with high tolerances.

To the OP: What fat did you use to absorb the thc? After multiple tries, I found coconut oil (didn't try other oils) worked much better than butter. I didn't feel the effects at all from 1 brownie made with butter, but did from the ones made with oil. I heard soy lecithin helps but I haven't tried it myself so I can't tell you.

With my first attempt making edibles(incidentally the best I've had to date) my lovely S.O. Decided to eat all the crumbs after we cut the brownies up, and that was a mistake. She describes what happened as being "oh no high".
Those were the only ones I've ever had that were made using ABV, so I will have to try that again in the future. Other edibles don't really affect me normally.

I have found to make consistent edibles Decarboxylatipn of the material is a must. Nowadays I make my edibles from Decarb BHO mixed with coconut oil then put in 00 caps. What I like about the BHO pills and a consistent Decarb process is that batch to batch dose to dose it works the same way. I make 25mg caps which tame for me but still a big dose for low tolerance, I just take more then 1.

Yeah I totally agree with this, edibles have never hit me hard even multiple pieces of pound cake made with a pound of fresh budder (goodbye arteries LOL) , or storebought stuff like Bhang Bar, whole one of the triple strength was long lasting but mild high.

As a motherly/grandmotherly type, I'll just go ahead and recommend that, if you feel nothing from medibles, you might consider a course of probiotics/digestive enzymes.

I'm not a fan of all the flour/sugar that medibles usually have - the fat is necessary, and I prefer the best, premium fats I can get, so I lean to grass-fed butter, pastured pork bacon fat, and coconut oil.
For my medibles, I do use BHO or RSO, as I can take a gram, which is 1000 mg, dissolve it in my fat source, and then bake with it. I get my individual servings to a dosage level of about 6.9 mg. *

I can get significant relief from 6.9 mg.

If I eat a medible that has, say, 50 mg, the "signal noise" from being over-"dose"d (I did that on purpose) prevents me from enjoying ~8 times the "high"... so, we cut those in 1/4ths. 12.5 mg is just about the max I want to take, as the fun-to-dose ratio nosedives above that.

I don't use high amounts of sugar, though I will throw dark (vegan) chocolate into the mix whenever possible. I cannot have gluten, so no flour.

* BHO gets dissolved into 1 cup butter, which equals 16 tablespoons. Each tablespoon equals 3 teaspoons, and 1/3 tsp has about 6.9 mg.

I have found that Less is most definitely More. Make sure you don't have any digestive issues that are unaddressed, and try less medible.
