Oh cool, thank you for responding! I also got the same response from an arizer rep today, so I feel confident about using it again, which is a relief since this is my daily driver. Although, I may have made another error in the process of examining it, I rubbed a bit of iso on the top to try to remove the stains before I reached out to the company and the community here, something that the rep told me is not advised...so now I'm wondering did I ruin it by doing this? Now that I know the ceramic element is a porous material I understand why it's a bad idea, but surely the little bit I rubbed on there would either be evaporated by now or could be purged through a "burn off cycle" right? I hope....

I don't know why the Arizer guy would tell you not to put ISO on it. Any trace of the ISO will be gone before it reaches vaporizing temperature the first time you heat it up. Most of us use ISO for cleaning ceramic parts all the time. I would have done what you did without a second thought. I'd even try a Magic Eraser* soaked with a little ISO.

*Before someone reacts in horror, the Magic Eraser is an abrasive foam pad and contains no chemicals, toxic or otherwise.

Cool, thanks for your feedback. I was also surprised to read the rep say that iso was not a recommended cleaner for the surface of the heating element, I use it to clean all my glass parts and it evaporates so quickly even at room temperature I can't imagine how it could be trapped in the heating element after it was turned on and heated up for a few minutes.

I did reply to him to let him know I had done as such, just in case the response might be "on no you ruined it!", but I'm not too worried. Perhaps it was just more of a general note as in "no need to clean it with iso / just turn it on and let it heat up to clean it"...idk.

Anyway, thanks again!

i highly recommend oregon glass blowers 18mm elbow , it is much thicker than stock. I think he is on the forums someplace if you do a search but here is a link to it - http://www.ioffer.com/i/18mm-vaporizer-glass-adapter-attachment-made-in-usa-15-533450412 , as for a whip im sure he makes those also or you can just go on ebay and grab 1 for cheap. there are also kits on ebay that include the whip , tubing and elbow for like $12 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/3ft-Whip-fo...661?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23423525a5 , personally i don't recommend the stock tuning , i would grab some silicon food grade tubing.

I second this ^^^. OGB (Mike) is awesome.

He can make the angle of the hose attachment any degree you prefer, and even change the thickness of the tube.

Here is an OGB elbow vs a Epic Vape EV2 EL-Bowl (Only $9.95)

Been reading the last 100 pages or so to plan for my next purchase, and when I found the EQ on MD I might as well get it right away.
I've been sticking to the SSV and Solo for the past two years or so and now I really want give the bags a try!

I'm gonna stick to the stock version for a while to test it out, but the mods that some of you guys figured out look absolutely brilliant. Probably gonna start looking for a DDave adapter right away so if you guys can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful!

And a huge thanks to the guys that figure these mods out and share it with people like me who are not very crafty:)

The EQ is a pretty poor bag filler, IMO, and won't hold a candle to your SSV as a whip vaporizer, even after the mod. Just my 2 cents

Yeah I figured I'd probably rarely use the whip with the EQ.
But I got the impression the EQ is considered at least decent with the bags?
So have I got the wrong impression or is your opinion rare?:)
Since I've never had access to a bag-vape I dont want to spend alot of money on the first one, just in case its just not my thing.

And are there any other bag-vapes that perform better around the same price of 130$?

Personally I am not a huge bag person with the q. Before the q I owned a volcano . It was my 1st vape and a gift from a friend. It was great at filling bags and does strictly bag filling only. I highly rec. it. If your just looking to do bags it's the best out there in my opinion. Pretty expensive though . I was offered a really good amount for it I couldn't pass up so it was sold. I had a very happy few years with it. Now the q does blow bags but it's slow to do it. It also requires some finess to do so. Volcano is pretty much child's play and your filling a bag with nice thick vapor. The q can fill them we'll in about double the time but you'll have to just get a hang at it first. Also changing bags on the volcano is very easy , the q again isn't so easy , there is a nice YouTube video teaching you how to do it but personally I use zip ties to seal it closed and it works well rather than the rubber rings they supply you with. Either way best of luck , the q is a great machine in my option and gets the job done for me.

Extreme Q is a fantastic vaporizer period Yes on fan speed 1 it's going to take 5min to full up but worth the time very nice vapor, excellent build quality, easy to clean, and the price.
herbalizer is $720 without taxes DAMN! I've owned 4 vaporizer: Buddha,Extreme q,Arizer solo, and Pax. You can go out and buy all of these vapes total price would still be cheaper than the herbalizer

Ive found the Q to be quite good at filling bags, nice thick vapor, dose take a bit to do but seriously are you ever in that much a rush to fill a bag? for the price the Q dose it all, whip, forced whip and bag, I seriously could not fault it and i am happy with it. If bag filling is all you want to do and money is not an object get a Volcano at 2-3x the price and tell me was it worth it? For what it is the Extreme Q is a respectable vape with a strong following. Would i buy a volcano? if i had the extra money to splash out i would but i dont so the Q is for me :p

Thanks for the input!

The fact that it takes a bit longer to fill the bag up does not bother me at all, as long as it fills them with vapor:)

If it turns out that I absolutely love bags and dont want to use a whip again, which I highly doubt, I might put up the money to get a Volcano or Herbalizer some time in the future.
Until then I'm sure the Q will serve me just fine!

I stole this from @Lahey because I can't post pics. :brow: I have posted before about a hook on the wall. Well this is as close as I can get to explain how it works for the Q. Place it above the Q and loop the hose over it. If your running the SSV wand, hose mouthpiece than it holds the hose like a third hand. I now use the hook like lahey after converting to the Enano.

I put up a hook for my dial where I use my nano the most, now it's always ready to go.

i love the bag system. some people don't like it for one reason or other but i'm really pleased with it. i'd prefer a volcano but this unit works fine.

i put away my da buddha and my rolling papers when i got the Q. i don't use anything but the bag and i stay nice and toasty all day.

enjoy it. :)

on another note:
arizer sent my new mini elbow. it took 5 days to get here and then the post office came by when i was gone and now i have to go to the post office to pick it up. i'm so used to fed ex and UPS just leaving the packages i didn't think to leave a note.

one time they tried to deliver. just once! and the notice they left was so confusing i couldn't tell if they were going to come back or if i had to go pick it up. UPS, FED ex, have clear and understandable notices, the USPS notice looks like it was written by a committee of political appointees.

what shit service, i'll never use the USPS again unless there is no other choice.

Is there any difference between the ssv and the dabuddha wand for use with a ddave adapter? I have just received my wand but i was sent a "dbv" instead of a "ssv" and wont be able to check it until later.

Cheers

I don't own a DBV wand but I hear they are slightly thinner glass than the SSV wand.

SOLO Vaporized Cannabis is my Best Medicine
If any of you EQ or V Tower owners also have a Solo, I have another use for your Solo straight stem. I found with a few minor modifications it can be used with the EQ instead of your elbow and whip. Just slide a grommet or "o" ring down to the shoulder where the bowl is. This will seal the EQ cyclone bowl' so air will be drawn from the heater. I also removed the screen from the EQ cyclone bowl and put it underneath, so as to not interfere with the end of the Solo stem. In addition a piece of tubing with was added so that the EQ balloon mouthpiece can be used. This gives you an easy way to fill balloons, although I just prefer the way it draws. A screen between the tubing and balloon mouthpiece gives clog free airflow. I used it on 446F, but 428 gave better flavor. It works so well, it is just incredible. And no batteries to charge/worry about.
Ddave did a similar thing with an SSV wand and shorter cyclone bowl which was the inspiration for my mod. If you have both Solo and EQ, you will need no additional parts, except an "o" ring or grommet. If "off gassing" of the gasket material is a problem for you, use a high temperature "o" ring.

Has anyone seen/tried the 'New'(not sure how long they've been up), 'all glass mini whip' for balloons now being sold by Arizer..http://arizer.com/store/en/arizer-parts/91-all-glass-mini-whip-set.html I'm a little confused though, the set includes an angled Gong tube, and a Gong mouthpiece for 'already tied balloons', but next to the only balloons they sell it says "for original whip only"....so where do you get balloons for the glass whip:shrug:.......also it specifies the glass whip as "for balloons only", when it looks like it would work for direct draw well too.......

A bit over a week ago, an FC member had received a good f/f adapter from this seller.

I've used both on my EQ and both worked quite nicely. As another member posted, the glass on the DBV wand appears thinner.

Everything counts in large amounts
Hi guys, I'm from Italy and I just received my EQ (Version included tuff bowls, it's V.5 I think). Already tried the whip without any modification or trick, just as described in the instructions. I'm so happy ...wow. If without any experience and at the first test I can obtain these results... it's already good and can go only better.
Subscribed and hope to contribute later when I've read the whole thread (gasp) and gathered some experience.
46 yo , 32 years of smoking and IT WAS ABOUT EFFING TIME to try a vap ;)

Yup,.

32 yrs is a long time to inhale smoke. Hope you can stick with vaporizing.

My first vape was the EQ. Thoroughly enjoyed my time with it, I will never forget a 2-hour session me and my friends had one night. The 360 degree swiveling whip and large cyclone makes for a great vaporizer for groups.
