The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

So has anyone who has used the Mighty looked at the cooling unit and seen if the mouthpiece connection could have a custom gong made for it?

Anyone tried some more makeshift ways to connect this to a bubbler?

Please provide video if so, I would love to see the vapor production of this thing connected to glass! :D

As I suggested in a prior post (whip/gong, short or long as you like). Adapt to slip n fit over the mouthpiece:

I'd love to help make a stand - if anyone with access to digital calipers and a camera is willing to help, I may be able to design a basic stand from that information (otherwise, I'd need access to a Mighty so I can 3D scan it, which I doubt anyone would be willing to lend me given how new the device is!)

If you think you can help - please PM me, I'm always up for a challenge!
I think you just came up with a totally acceptable reason for your next VAS purchase :)

Mighty car adapter price raised $5 to 24.90 in the S&B online store, like I predicted.

Yeah I thought about a case for it. The Pelican 1040 Microcase might be nice, except the pick-n-pluck foam doesn't pad the upper surface on the interior of the case. There should be a way to pad it.

http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail/Case/1040/

Edit: Yeah a way to pad it, like getting 2 of those padding strips from the i1015 model and using them with the 1040 model for The Mighty.

For me It's kind of nice that I could lay it on the side. I only have desktop vapes and have been wanting something I can lay next to me on the bed while I relax, Like I used to do with a pipe. I find this very comfortable and meditative between reading a book, learning a recipe, strumming guitar, etc. It seems like the loading tool would help with it not standing up too well but I don't have hand problems so YMMV. This vape seems really nice and I'm tempted to get one. I need more of a comparison between the Minivap though. The flat profile of this Mighty looks pretty comfortable and portable for most of my purposes.

invertedisdead,
I e-mailed S&B with some pretty specific questions about the heating element, temperature accuracy, etc., but they simply referred me to the product info/FAQ section of the website, which doesn't answer my questions. Kind of a turn off to be honest. I guess they don't care about answering the geeky technical type questions?

A taste on the tongue
When people say they get 5 to 8 draws out of a load that seems amazing as I get 40 plus out of a load on my solo.

How long does a session take?
These low draw sessions are they on max temp?

Think I've totally given up interest in the Crafty but this does interest me. Mainly as a solo replacement nothing wrong with the solo but I find a stem full takes 20 to 24 minutes ie 2 auto shutdown per load = 3 maybe 4 sessions out of the battery. This sounds more promising.

They're not very communicative, one on one. Did you contact them in Oakland? You might try a phone call too.

I can share a few bits of information that I learned directly from Michael Schwartz, the Marketing Manager of S&B over in Germany. I sent an email with various specific questions shortly after the email news announcement of the newly released products, and apparently the Customer Service Representatives gave my email to him for reply.

I asked about the composition of the heating element and all materials that come into contact with the vapor pathway, and Mr. Schwartz said that "all air directing material are food-safe/heat-resistant/ medical grade."

I asked if there were any promotional sales planned in the United States market, and he said "No."

Those were the two most interesting and pertinent facts I ascertained. Hope that helps.

Powered the unit on and went for a walk. I probably went a solid 15+ minutes puffing away and from what I recall the device never did the auto-shutuff. So I think the timer does reset upon application, which I had been skeptical of to start. I cannot remember for sure whether the device reached its set temp which I had set at the maximum. Next time, I'll make sure to check for when it reaches its set temp, and then attentively observe to see if it does an auto-shutoff.

The other thing is, its so easy to turn it back on. And if you do it immediately upon the auto-shutoff, you may drop 2 dregrees F but there is no significant heat loss. I think it becomes an easy habit to turn it back on when you want to.

Then I got home and found the battery was drained and actual temp was dropping. I plugged in the wall-charger with an intention to see if the load was exhausted. I expected to see the actual temp readout start climbing once the power was charging. To my surprise, I saw the charger was charging, but the actual temp kept dropping. I wondered if the device stopped working. It took about 5-10 minutes charging in an out-of-commission state like that, and when I would turn it on I'd just see the actual temp dropping further then it would turn itself off. Then after 5-10 minutes I think it was, I turned it on and it finally started heating back up.

I'm still figuring it out, but I believe it is true that auto-shutoff is reset upon application, and there's a few early observations from one user.

Here is the inside of the cooling chamber. It comes apart easily for anyone and reassembles the same also. I assume you can iso bath it but I have to read the book again:tup:

sidenote, just put a vid in the MV thread for comparison purposes:tup:

Wait, so the ends pop off like that??? hmmmm - Any chance you (or someone) could trace those profiles and scan/fax me the trace?

I don't have a CNC machine yet - but a sexy (heavy) vaporizer like this might be worthy of a CNC milled stand made from wood or aluminum. Hopefully I'll have a CNC mill before the end of the year!

Thanks. A picture is worth a thousand words.
So how many loads, how many grams would you say yielded this amount of gunk?
??How much gunk can accumulate before it starts to interfere with performance?

I have found a good way to avoid this is to use the half bowl method. Fill the bowl half full and use the liquid pad on top on the load. This way nothing goes through the top screen but sweet tasty vapor

You can thank me later :D

i prefer full bowl tasty vapor:) it's designed to pump! Prally half oz through it no affect on airflow at all:)

Hi all,

I used to have a Plenty but sold it solely based on the speed of consumption/size of the bowl. The Plenty in my opinion produced great quality vapor but it was an absolute lawn mower, easily eating up to 1g or more of product per pack. (And I found the liquid pad to not help much.) So, I reluctantly sold it.

I was really excited to see these come out. My question is, is the speed of consumption more "normal", that is, (much) slower than the Plenty? Also, is the quality of vapor cool, and similar to the Plenty?

I went through almost 3-4x as much flower using the Plenty as I do when I combust, so it literally forced me back to combustion, I'd like to find a vape that avoids this and lets me vape economically again. Thanks for any insight.

Absolutely slower than the Plenty, at least the way I use 'em.

The easy valve chamber as well can be a gram-mower.
I not only like the economy of these portable units,
but also being able to switch to another strain or pheno more quickly.

The best news is however is that you can extract all the goods at this temp. I took the ABV from the 170c range and loaded into the og cloud ticker and got once again practically no vapor (And once again so little that it is not worth it). Very good IMO for those who like low temps but still want the goods.

Excuse me but could you please clarify that part? I know components vaporization points are not absolute and I'm aware it's more similar to a bell-curve in practice, where you always get some of the higher temperature molecules when vaping at a given temp.

But in my Ascent, if I vape at say 170°C, I can deplete the bowl until there is practically nothing to get (granted there is still very little and if I insisted for 30 minutes maybe I could continue...) there's no visible vapor exhale anymore. Then if I raise the temperature with the same load, vapor production restarts instantly.

So I really have troubles understanding how what you said is possible, especially when people claim the Ascent is mostly conduction (DaVinci say it's hybrid though, like S&B say for these two new devices) and we know that conduction vapes have the bad tendency to cook the load at all times.

Also if you get all the goods at low temperature, it means you can't get distinct effects? What if I want the heady low temp effects without the sedative high temp ones? I'm puzzled...

elmomuzz

That just happened...
You can't compare temps between vapes. Just because they both say 170c on the dial doesn't mean the hot air traveling over the herb is the same temp or that they do the same job of extraction. Some are more efficient then others or the herb is further from the heat. All sorts of factors. But with the mighty you can turn the temp down very low and find that low temp flavor and effect you are searching for.

Dude you are so on the defensive! Please re-read my post, I'm not asking if it can do low temps, I'm asking why doing low temps deplete everything as the other FC member claimed.

Besides the question wasn't aimed at you in the first place...
