Worth upgrading from Hammer to Lotus?

My SO has not been in the vaping scene. She's the type that will take 1-2 bong rips and be done with it, rather than doing a full on "session."

I'm looking for something that will mimic those smokey rips and ease-of-use like combusting with a bong.. and I feel both the Lotus and Hammer w/ attachment can mimic that. However, I've never used the Lotus so I'm not 100% sure what to expect. On the otherhand, I have a Hammer, but I've never used it with attachments.

Obviously I'll save some money if I go the Hammer route since all I have to buy is the adapter, but does the Lotus have any advantages over it to make it worth buying?

I'd personally keep the hammer and buy some nuggies. Both nuts are strong convection units, play with your hammer more, try some water tools? if you still wanna switch it up, grab a lotus for Christmas?

Lotus is faster in producing vapor (2-4 secs), is a more compact and durable package, less things to go wrong, can last you a lifetime and last but not least you can certainly have more control over the hit, during the heat. It's the ultimate manual vape. How good it gets depends solely on you! Haven't used a Hammer but have been following the thread since the beginning and I am basing my points on everything I have read from users.

Since you have the Hammer picking up a gong and waterpiece to go along with it seems the easiest route to go, it's not as fast as the lotus but the hammer is amazing with water tools. If you check out some of @paytonpenn s videos in the hammer thread or on you-tube you may see what you already own will serve great for your SOs bong needs.

Although the lotus mimics doing those really fast bong hits better than the hammer IMO and in use may feel a lot more natural and familiar way to vape for a regular bong smoker.

I've had my Lotus for several months now, and love it. However recently I was sent a Hammer vaporizer by a customer to make a hammer vape stand (see the link in my signature). Luckily he was nice enough to include a glass stem and instructions on how to use it so I could give it a test run.

The Hammer is a good tasting vape, and it does work quite well.

The Lotus however is a different beast all together. While they both use butane for heat, they work differently.

I find the Lotus is great at helping to mimic that charring of a load when combusting through a water pipe. However, there is a drawback to this:
1) You need a waterpipe which provides a clear view of the Lotus cap (you need to see where your torch is on the plate) - I have one or two bubblers which I'm not comfortable using the Lotus because I can't see where I'm heating - This isn't a HUGE issue, but something to keep in mind.

2) You and your SO needs patience and practice to use the Lotus. Unlike the Hammer which is easier to click on and start using, the Lotus requires a bit of practice to master vaporizing with it.

To me - the practice of learning how to use the Lotus is the fun part. Based on how you heat the Lotus will determine what kind of hit you want - you can get a full flavorful hit and the herb still looks almost green. Or you can cook the entire load dark black if you desire in a single hit. Hell if you're not careful you can combust!

All in All, I believe the Lotus is worth it if you've got an extra $100 to spend on the WPA kit. However, if money is an issue, why not try a GonG for your hammer and see if that works. That would certainly be an easier and cheaper route.
